WU - Only aligns with WUR, so it should focus on casting two spells a turn, or whatever we've decided the focus of the WUR deck is.
WG - Only aligns with WBG, so it should focus on Serran life.
RG - Only aligns with RGU, so it should focus on... Masterwork? Or maybe just creature buffing or an exalted-type effect.
BR - Only aligns with WBR, so it should focus on life fueled aggro.
UB - Only aligns with UBG, so it should focus on Art-related synergies (maybe ETBs, mill, or recursion?)
WB - Aligns with WBG and WBR. Common link: life. Should be able to work with both Serran life and using life as fuel. (Maybe having life-payig synergies and a life paying activated ability?)
BG - Aligns with WBG and UBG. Common link: ...uhhhhh... possibly ramp-related, or maybe graveyard synergies. The link between these two wedges aren't very clearly defined, we might want to work on this a bit.
UR - Aligns with WUR and RGU. Common link: Unsure... I thought at first this should be discover-focused, but I don't know how well that synergizes with RGU. Maybe trying to use discover to cast creatures or buff creatures?
WR - Aligns with WUR and WBR. Common link: Casting spells, aggressive nature. This could possibly be used as a way to gain life, or perhaps to use life to cast more spells, something that works with both factions.
UG - Aligns with UBG and RGU. Common link: Creature focus, big, combo-y nature. I think this could be the masterwork commander, using masterwork to buff creatures but also having a masterwork-related ETB effect for itself or for other creatrues.
I also had the idea that we could add more variation by adding another 5, mono-color partner commanders, which would be Arts instead of Artists or non-Arts, like the other 10. These would have to be very versatile and fit into any of their three wedges (for example, our red Art commander would have to fit into WUR, RGU, and WBR). I'll elaborate is this idea gains any traction. For now, I'd love any pitches/card mockups for the 10 2-color commanders!
Art Partners: (Something to keep in mind is that these Commanders should have a reason to be legendary and be art, as well as the fact that there should be similarities in the mechanics of these legends to convey that they're "Art.")
White - (WUR, WBG, WBR). Obviously we could go and say "life gain haha" but that's really the whole idea of the set, so I think we need to get more creative than that. This should be an aggressive-to-midrange card, but also something that could fit in WBG's more controlling play style. The themes of White in this set seem to be purity and relate to self-discovery and self-understanding, as well as a kind of unity amongst the many.
Blue - (WUR, UBG, RUG). The themes of Blue in Rezatta are discovery, knowledge, enlightnenment, etc. Blue isn't as controlling and rude as it usually is. I think a blinking aspect to this commander would work, as long as it doesn't disrupt RUG and WUR. Overall there seems to be a disconnect between WUR and the other two, as the others focus largely on permanents while WUR focuses on "spells" and doesn't really care whether they're permanents or not.
Black - (UBG, WBG, WBR). The themes of Black in Rezatta are secrecy, ambition, and overwhelming devotion/wanting devotion. Black isn't evil, but it wants its art to be the most stunning and incredible, and many secrets lurk within its canvases. I think life should be an innate part of this commander, perhaps having life-related triggers when it enters the battlefield, or using life to interact with other creatures/your graveyard.
Red - (WBR, WUR, RUG). The themes of Red in Rezatta are exultation, freedom of self-expression, and exploration and appreciation of the world around you. Red is very much Rezatta's representative color, full of artistic possibilites and emotion. This should be an aggressive commander, one who should certainly relate to life given that it is the core color of the set.
Green - (RUG, UBG, WBG). The themes of Green in Rezatta are exploration, power, and tenderness. Green is the monuments that decorate Rezatta's skylines, the great forests of art that compose its flora. For some reason I'm feeling a rampy commander for this color, something that gets RUG's threats out earlier, eases UBG's combo potential, and gets WBG closer to its late-game domination.
The themes of the colors are based off of my interpretation and not any official disclaimer.
@MTG_Sappy if we choose a random effect for a 2-color commander, chances are it might not fit with the concept of the 3-color deck we have planned for it.
Also your 4-mana white card breaks the color pie a fair bit.
@SteampunkDragon I don't really like making generic partners since when designing them someone has to look at all the other partners and make sure they're not doing anything too strong and powerful. Partner with cards allow more interesting design space and stronger cards
@MTG_Sappy uhhhh... I'm not sure if that's the shared opinion. I can't really name a "partner with" pair I like all too much. Plus, I went this route because you said you wanted it to be different from Ikoria, which had partner with cards. I also did this to create the "build your own deck" experience, which wouldn't really work with partner withs... at least not nearly as well. I like partner with too, but I definitely disagree that one is better than the other in terms of design space and power level; Original partner allows players to have more leeway in creating their decks and they also see a lot more play, which is pretty much saying that they're stronger (correct me if I'm wrong on this).
I have a couple designs I'll be sharing soon, but I guess we'll have to figure this out as we continue.

@LordTachanka123
We could easily do that

So why do we need to find common links?
Why would we want that? Obviously the partner could fit in both, wait u mean PARTNER, not PARTNER WITH, right?

By partners do u mean Thrasios or Pako/Haldan?
