@SpellPiper2213 "By the honour of Tsayami, we accept your peace." - Linasha
(As a side note, when I recognise MTG art on cards I tell just in case you care, but I expect you care even less when there is art from another game entirely)
@everyone Alright! We have judged. Climactic resolution being written up.
Sorry this took so long, I had to basically redesign the scoring system from the ground up, as well as consult with many team members on their opinions about the scoring - the first elimination is arguably the most important, since it has to set a precedent.
Oh, man, if the scoring system has to be rewritten from the ground up, that means we had to have done something interesting. So, yeah, anxiety and excitement are definitely there.
The first one is always hardest, especially here, where we don't really want to cut away anyone, but if we hold off culling participants any longer, the dramatic tension will all be gone by the end.
So, unfortunately, we must say goodbye to @KorandAngels and New Dromoka. This feels wrong both to type and to say, but I believe that you are (very narrowly, admittedly), outdone.
The biggest issue was probably that of balance - while many of your cards could undoubtedly be printed in a WOTC set, no change required, a couple were slightly off-kilter. If you would like further feedback, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Your inner conflicts are starting. Territory is being taken. Particularly remarkable are @SpellPiper2213 and @DrakeGladis's scramble for Dromoka's abandoned territory, @RegalGorgon13 and @TimurGlint's incursions to the heart of the centre continent, @spookoops and @LordTachanka123's colonisation of the southwest landmass, and @ChoyBoi's attack on the distant Koreli Mystics, which I could only realistically portray by giving you a small outpost in that part of the island, because something, something, flying?
Meanwhile, the plane feeds on this. Yes, the world of Turmoil was violent, and Skyfaoll had a giant world-ending wurm inside of it, but this plane of Nemain is the first one to be featured as of now to be actively malevolent in and of itself. It spurs your conflict on, urging you to feed it evermore. Your nation feels the taste of blood.
The question now is - Do you want to embrace this endless march of war, or do you want to try and resist it, and maintain relative tranquility within your borders?
SHOW YOUR DECISION WITH CARD AND STORY BY THURSDAY THE 14TH!
The world of Nemain is an actively hostile one, and reminders of that pop up everywhere. Whether it be a rampaging elemental or the half-buried skeleton of a massive beast, its desire is clear: all who live on it must claim their own, or be taken by the land itself.
With the New Dromoka gone, the Federation grabbed for as much land as they could. However, that brought them up against nations that they had no previous contact with, and with several alliances in the balance, it might not do well to have more.
As Sarai and Tenar begin moving their forces to the borders, preparing an attack, Federation agents spread out across the continent, watching from the shadows and ensuring the Federation always has the upper hand.
In other words, the Qatha Federation is poising, although it's somewhat clear that they're prioritizing a strained peace and their alliances over all-out war with nearby factions...for now.
The Talniri have enjoyed relative peace on Nemain. They plan to continue this.
From the jounal of Arckus:
My fathamnauts have taken to warping the fathom into a thick fog to those not protected by the Old Way's vows. The old wayers have reluctantly agreed to help with the concession that we grant them a permanent temple location untouched by "heretic magic" as they call it. If they weren't so useful I'd exile them but for now they hold the borders with those monstrosities. Note to self, remember to tomorrow what was yesterday.
The clan spreads its unique magic through its lands. Any who enter without the vows necessary will find themselves in a reality like they've never imagined. No now, no then, no here, no there, no lies, only truth.
The old ways temple is built on the border territory with the Rising Sun. (the submission for this round^)
Last but not least, the Tsayami Empire gets a messenger with gifts!
With it comes a message of peace: Neighbors should not make war in their own backyard. Especially not when so many potential enemies prosper from petty squabbles even as we speak. I hope you will see this wisdom and use it to prosper.
@HeroKP "It is time to march, no?" The words spoken were the first to break a tense silence in the war room, spoken by Artra, who looked confused at the silence of everyone around them.
"Nevia has not contacted-." Just as Jene began the sentence, the middle of the war table glowed, before an illusion of Nevia's face appeared.
"It is time for our rise upon the world of Nemain. Let our enemies fear our mere presence," she said, before disappearing.
"You heard her orders. Marshal the legions and the disciples. Summon your magic and prepare your spells. We march on the Wendigo now." Jene turned away, and walked out the door, leaving all others to fulfill their orders.

(To clarify, I don't care either)
Ah, I’m afraid not! Would you like me to put you on the notice list for next season?

Expect continuation in a few hours!
After consulting everyone I could possibly consult and testing out many, many possible future scenarios, we have determined our first eliminee.

The rest of you... heh...
