Everyone please put your hands together for: The Schwarmi Nodule!
These three are the joint rulers of this colony of the Schwarmi System, and they take the initiative as the leaders. As the equivalent of govenors, they have their mission to fulfill, and a higher authority to report to.
Sentena is in charge of the military aspect of things, working on troops and traps, and has a major control over most of the lives of citizens. Each citizen is referred to as a node, indicating their part in the cohesive whole.
Eulogea is a much smaller part of things, but no less important. She deals with the people directly... not that there is much to deal with. Change for the Schwarmi is hard and rare, but when you're on a new world, things can change quickly....
And then there is Scriba. Her role is the most important, as it's the one that is by far the most relevant. She's in charge of the information. What's right, what's wrong, what's true... all of that goes through her. She keeps the history of the expedition, and is in charge of maintaining contact with the main body of the Schwarmi System. Whether the colony succeeds or fails, she'll send what they did and the results back to the main system for processing.
This is one of many Nodes.... each one is a fully formed individual conciousness to maximize creativity and problem-solving. However, that does leave the issue that they might get a bit too freedom-oriented. There are things in place to prevent this, but it's not perfect, so quite often more rebellious individuals are sent out as scouts. Every Node is part of the army to some extent thought.
Now... the Schwarmi System wasn't made originally in a magical world, so we'll be adapting to it. However, plenty of our technological innovations can be construed as magical, especailly our communications and information. It is very rare that Sentena will ever have to leave the main cave to go to the front lines. More commonly, there'll be a simple energy beam, and she will have everything that has been recorded.
And now what the civilization centers around... Matricies. This is the core system that everything runs on. It makes more Nodes, gets rid of faulty ones, and is the repository of all information. It is the social and physical hub of this nodule of the Schwarmi System. And 90 % of it's processing power is taken up with something...
Just for clarification, the name is the Schwarmi Nodule. The Citizens are Nodes. The Schwarmi System is the place they come from.
A pleasure to see yours as well... however, I speak not for the Schwarmi in this matter @SpellPiper2213 Still, best of luck. You're guys look interesting af.
Surprise! I'm back! And with me, I have a faction for this season of Colonisers:
The Empire of Tsayami!
With the first card, I introduce the main mechanic for this faction:
Dying Honorably
The one leading the conquest into Nemain is Kanamaru, 18th Warlord of Tsayami. He amasses an army of tokens, but also shows of my new custom mechanic. For a creature to "die honorably", it must be a creature that you own, and dies in combat or by sacrifice.
Moving on, we see the next card, Kanamaru's first advisor, Tomakaru:
On the home plane of Tsayami, magicians of the Greater Way are seen as above the law, due to a debt repaid in law by the first emperor. Tomakaru was the first of these magicians to align politically with the Warlord, and is his most trusted magician to him.
In terms of the style of war preferred by the Tsayaman invaders, they use vast numbers of foot troops to overwhelm the enemy. For the card representing the army, I have bent the rules slightly:
Yes, this isn't a creature, but it creates creature tokens... that counts, right...? I felt this was the best way to represent the army nonetheless.
Finally, the production line. Production is done mainly by... ahem slavery forced labour.
Natives and people from other factions may be captured and used as slaves to nobles investing in the conquest of Nemain, either here or sent back to Tsayami. Slaves have no honor, and are very rarely released.
For the first, earlier part of the game in this season, the battalion of magicians sent here will attempt to create a rift back to Tsayami, long a task studied by ones of the Greater Path. That will allow a large force of troops to arrive into Nemain, and allow forced labourers to be sent back.
This faction is inspired by a great book series, although I doubt anyone would recognise it. I wish luck to all contestants and look forward to this season of Colonisers!
@spookoops The tokens were intentionally Soldiers, but you are right. I have also changed the tokens, as it may open up a tribal possibility on a card in the future, and absolutely more thematic.
I'm cutting it a bit close here, but I was having a bit of trouble coming up with a good faction for a while. However, I've finally got one I'm satisfied with. Now, without further ado...
Jael stepped up to the podium in the center of the huge, hollowed out tree where the four sectors of his kingdom met. A lattice of branches formed the upper limits of the chamber, and smaller limbs grew from the bark-covered inner wall in towards the center. One corner of the area was completely covered in snow with leafless branches, another blooming with flowers, a third bearing briliant white fruit, and a fourth that had red and orange leaves covering the floor with a few stragglers still attached to the tree. Jael looked around the room as he prepared to begin speaking. Nearly everyone in the kingdom was there, so the area was more crowded than it had been in a very long time. Even so, he could pick out the faces of the Governors of the four sectors. They all looked nervous. And rightfully so, as they knew what Jael was about to say. "Greetings, everyone. Thank you all for coming to this meeting. As you all may have noticed, things have gotten a bit crowded here on Seasonia. Our island home is wonderful, and has suited our needs very well up until this point, but our population is growing too quickly to stay here forever. Luckily, I have found a way to remedy this. There is a way to go to another world, with the possibility of making it our own." The crowd looked shocked. Jael even heard a few gasps. He had anticipated that people would be surprised by this news. "It won't be easy, but each Governor has agreed to send a portion of their population, along with some trained experts and warriors, to go to this new world." "And I, as your Sovreign of Seasons, shall personally lead the expedtion."
The Leader
Jael is the most recent holder of the position of Sovreign of Seasons. He is a kind and just ruler, and will be joining his kingdom on this journey, as he didn't quite trust anyone else to do it. He's a bit worried that the Governers' quarrels will get out of hand in his absence, but he is willing to take the risk to solve the issues of his people, namely the overpopulation problem that has stretched resources thin.
Alright, I guess that after that little intro, I should tell you what my faction actually is! My faction is called:
The Four Seasons Kingdom!
The Four Seasons Kingdom is an island nation on the plane of Razier. The island, called Seasonia, is split into four equal sectors, each of which constantly experiences one of the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Each sector has it's own special attributes and things that it's known for, but I won't go into that here. Maybe later, though. Regardless, let's move on to the rest of the cards.
Army
Ok, so, first things first, I'm sure you noticed that new mechanic on Jael (Which, by the way, is not pronounced "Jail", it's pronounced like "Jay-Eel") called Seasonal, with Season counters! Well, here it is again, and it's not going to go away.
{Season} Seasonal (At the beginning of your upkeep, you may get a {Season} counter.)
Season Counters: You can only have one at a time unless a card says otherwise, so when you go over that limit you need to choose a counter to lose. As long as you have a counter of a certain season, it is that season when deciding effects of cards you control. If each player has Season counters, it can be a different season for both you and your opponent.
Anyways, on to the army. The Summer District is the most populous, and has most of the island's trained soldiers. (They're close enough to the mainland that they do need them) Warriors of the Summer district are empowered by sunlight, and they know how to use the glare of the sun to distract their opponents so that their soldiers seem to appear out of thin air.
Magic
The Winter district has talented mages who use snow and ice to great effect. Ice magic is quite versatile (as is pointed out in the flavor text) and can be used for simple, everyday needs or for freezing enemy ships in the water before they even reach the shore of Seasonia. As such, it is far more advantagous for enemies to land in any other sector, for their magic is weaker outside of the cold. The other sectors have magic too, of course, with Summer focusing on the sun and heat and Spring focusing on growth and new life. (Autumn doesn't do as much magic, they're more hunters and scouts and such)
Industry
The Four Seasons Kingdom doesn't have much in the way of traditional industry, but they do have the Citadel. The Citadel works as the enormous hollow tree on their home island worked on back on Razier, creating the ideal conditions of each season for the inhabitants of each different sector. So, it's a "weather factory" if you will. Many talented mages from all sectors, even some of the few Autumnal wizards, live in the Citadel, and are tasked with changing and monitoring the seasons in different areas. Alright, there we go! That's my entry, the Four Seasons Kingdom. I would have made extras, but I'm getting my faction in too close to the deadline for comfort as is, and I don't want to risk it. I may make some later though.

Few things excite me more than genocidal robots!
I wanted to put 'fascist robots', but decided against it.
