I got the clan name for the rider from its Planeshift colour shard since that's the last time and place we saw a printed Phelddagrif.

From the boundless reaches of Lorwyn Azor and Araya
A young girl from the lands of Eldrine and her imaginary friend.
(its supposed to be a legendary but I'm too lazy to remake it)

3rd Place. 2 faves
1st place:
@TerryTags with R'ree the Fleetfooted and Hemnos, Archer of the Ostraga!
Reasoning:
I like the first card especially because of its authentic balance and format. Nomads aren't a common creature type, especially in recent Magic sets. R'ree is cool, but I don't think Soulbond fits up with Gruul colours. Both well-designed cards, and its very hard to find art with similar aesthetic. Hemnos slightly over-powered. maybe?
2nd place:
@ThePhantomJoker with Goran Wartusk and Gothandi, Trumpeting Beast!
Reasoning:
First of all, the names are very neat. Goran's first ability doesn't seem right to me. It seems conditional to me, at least. I appreciate that the partner is in fact 8 mana, but apart from that, it doesn't seem that useful. You would probably only want to run these commanders in an expensive-creatures matter and elephant tribal. The flavour is aesthetically pleasing and cohesive!
3rd place:
@Tonysparks with Kyneal, Ground Razer and Kylox, Plane-Shatterer!
Reasoning:
These commanders have the specific "Beasts, mindless destruction" aesthetic that appears on Gruul cards frequently. Flash doesn't really suit the Gruul theme. This 'Mount' ability is cool and definitely matches with the theme of the contest!! A few format mistakes, but they'll pass.
Thanks for entering, and please request your prizes!
@TerryTags, you have been followed!
Great contest! Congrats to all participants, well done all around
Here are my 7 to be favorited. They're all part of my Ganleya set, which is a WUR set that is trying to occupy the same design space as Zedruu the Greathearted.
