Yes, yes, I know I said "around the 4th of April", but I hope three days aren't such a big deal. My forgetfulness aside, judging is here! Thank you all for your lovely entries, they were all pretty neat. But which were the neatest?
1st place: @SpellPiper2213 with Dark Ascension (4 faves) Simple, flavorful, pretty. It has some utility, you can target your own stuff if you need to, but it can also be a removal spell. Giving your opponents demons doesn't seem that wise, but it can work. And it has that nice touch of Innistrad flavor while not being too centered on any actual storylines or lore. 2nd place: @feralitator with The Throne of Eldraine (3 faves) Yup, it's a throne. I like the mechanical callback to Dragon Throne of Tarkir, although you might have left it on "can't attack" (defender), because leaving one of your creatures entirely out of combat is a huge downside. Speaking of mechanics and callbacks, the adamant reference with the equip cost is also cool and limits the use of this card (that's why I think the equiped creature should still be ale to block, there's enough downsides already). Flavor-wise, tribal strategies weren't really a big deal in Eldraine, but the card is very cool. 3rd place: @AboveAndAbout with Oath of the Gatewatch (2 faves) Somebody had to do this one. And you did it well. Refference to Allies, check. Oath mechanics, check. That one specific artwork, check. I like the card overall, I'm just a bit unsure about the wording of the second ability. I know what you were going for and I think it's super innovative, but the wording with loyalty ability costs is weird. However, I don't really have an idea how to write it differently. So I'll leave it at that. I like the card. Honorable mention: @Jadefire with Gatecrash (1 fave) I totally had to talk about this card, but it just didn't fit to the top three. But I love the flavor of this card. You've managed to use the name perfectly and the flavor of the card is on point, although the effect is very situational.
Please tell me which cards you want faved and have a great day
