  • @HeroKP, I'd actually prefer it if you didn't. I have access to discord but I'm only allowed to contact friends with it. (Plus one of my computers doesn't have dsicord)

I'm thinking 180-210 cards in this set, but we could always lower it. I'll start looking for art right away! :)

@AboveAndAbout I'm glad you agree with my idea! I'm aiming for around 10 science branches, a colour combination for each one.

@Everyone I'd like to keep at least partial control. I'm happy to have the communtiy help, but I don't want it to turn into a 'design team'

I guess it's kind of decided, so I'm going to stop accepting responses and settle on science!

  • I think it's not really fair to say you don't want a "design team". You have control over what you want to do with this set. Everybody else is here to make suggestions, but we don't expect you to agree with everything we say. We're all just supporting you with your set.
  • A small note, but isn't 210 cards a little small for 10 color combinations?
  • Ravnica Allegiance and Guilds of Ravnica are 273 cards each, and they only have five  guilds.
  • Have I said something wrong?

It was just the way that @HeroKP was talking implied to me like it was a, er, how do I put this......their set as well, kind of.
  • Yeah, but a lot of Ravnica cards aren't based on a guild.
  • Actually....no.

    Wait....five guilds?
  • Five guilds per set.
  • Ah.

    Hmm. I think 260-290, maybe?
  • Maybe you could have something like five pillars of science, with each multicolored pair going into a more specific type of science.

Something like Dragon's Maze, with all ten guilds was pretty hard to play in limited. Maybe you might want to use hybrid mana for some cards? They might give some cards more playability in those limited formats.
  • I'm fairly sure it's going to be aimed at the Commander format.

Like GNR and RNA, we could branch five science branches into two sets and call it a block. We might not want to pin it down to one color combo per science branch, e.g. Horology could be U/R but Chemistry could also use U/R archetypes?
