Tommia Set - Expansion One: Echoes of Tommia
Hello! @JBYT_LoadedTommy here and I'm here to announce my future set: Tommia!
If you've been here a while, you may recall the Hyperbase set on my account @JBYT_LoadedTommy. Well, things have changed more than drastically. An innocent plane, one of many created by Joseph's mind, turned into a warzone, and was invaded by unknown forces. After the events of the Hyperbase Set, Tommia was thought to have been entirely destroyed. Spark Gadgets lost connection, and there were no Planeswalkers who knew of the plane. However, something drastic happened, and Joseph will never be the same again!

Current Status in the Tommia Set: Planeswalker, Imagination Mage
Abilities: Planeswalking, tampering with figments of imagination, bringing things into existence, can interact with the real world in his sleep, his mind is its own dimension
Colors: WUB
Joseph Bigham is a, quote-on-quote, "planewalker" from Earthrealm. He was originally never a mage, only a mere human, until one day, he was drawn out of the real world into the dream world in his sleep. He awoke in a long stretch of grass in the center of an endless forest, a figment of his own imagination. He looked for an exit, but found that he could not pass through the trees. After searching for hours, he found an opening in the trees that lead to a stone portal with no way through or around it. After inspecting the portal, the found an inscription on it. He could not read it, so he rubbed it in an attempt to make it out. However, as his hand slid down the side, the portal came to life, and the inscription lit up a sort of neon purple.
"Enter, and your dreams will become reality."
As Joseph read it in his mind, the portal seemed to whisper the words. It wanted him to enter. It wanted him to know what hid within. As he stood there, he was faced with little choice. He couldn't stay in the forest. There was nothing to be found. As Joseph walked through the portal, he entered the Hyperbase, and, being sought as its creator, was treated like a God, although he refused the treatment, knowing there was only one true God, one without a face, or a name, and he was a human, even though he had acquired the ability to use dream magic.
After entering the Hyperbase (Tell me if you get the pun) Joseph led its army against an invading force, the reason Joseph was called to save it. However, the Invaders won, and Joseph had no choice but to use a spark gadget to abandon the plane of Tommia (A spark gadget allows non-planeswalkers to travel the Multiverse. It is an invention created by the Hyperbase's greatest scientists.)
When Joseph arrived back at Earthrealm, things were not what they were before. Earthrealm, too, had been invaded, and his parents were missing. Factions, both native and invading, fought for control of Earthrealm. Joseph, along with what little of the Hyperbase force he had left, gathered soldiers and joined the battle to defend Earthrealm. In the end, the day was saved, but the Factions on Earthrealm still fought, and in the end, no one won.
As for Joseph, something felt wrong inside of him. His mind was calling out to him. And what he didn't know is that dream magic wasn't the only thing that the Magic Portal left Joseph with; at this moment, Joseph soon discovered his second tie to Tommia in the form of a Planeswalker spark, something he wasn't born with. In this moment, Joseph was taken back to Tommia to find out what caused this feeling of distress.
"Come home, Joseph. Now is your time. Take back what you have created."
Now a full-fledged Planeswalker, Joseph is now left alone to take on this new incarnation of the Tommia Joseph once knew.
Colors: WB
Deck Style: Enchantment creatures and enchantments.
The Yunomare bear the closest resemblance to what mages were like back in the earliest days of the Hyperbase. They master in dream magic and are the only faction capable of harnessing dream creatures.
Current Status in the Tommia Set: Leader of the Yunomare
Abilities: Sending forth creatures from the Dream Realm
Colors: WB
Kakunote is a deep dreamer, and a very wise man. He was secretly chosen by Joseph to lead charges back in the beginning of the First Tommian War, but after it was found out he was conjuring forces from nothing, the Panel of Enforcers agreed to remove him from command of Joseph's army, returning full command to Joseph.
After his removal from command, coincidentally, the Hyperbase Forces began to weaken, and rebellions ensued. Due to this, those who knew his former duty began to think that Kakunote was a better Commander then Joseph. This allowed him to rise to power after Joseph left Tommia, and in this event, he created the Yunomare to fight alongside him. He and the Yunomare successfully deterred the remaining invaders, saving Tommia, but not without heavy losses.
Colors: GU
Strategy: Mana ramp aggro-control; cheap blue spells to ward off foes while you get mana for more powerful green spells; creatures often have hexproof
The Shiryozen are mysterious, but prove that one thing is true; nature protects itself. Whenever they charge, they are protected by a mysterious force. Everyone fears them.
Current Status in the Tommia Set: Leader of the Shiryozen
Abilities: Infuse nature with magic, protect nature
Colors: GU
Kimara was bound to Nature at birth by her spirit. She was born to protect it, born to serve it. In the days of the Hyperbase, she was called a witch, but being left out of society gave her the chance she needed to fully bond with nature and unleash her full potential. During the war, despite the destruction of the land, she kept nature intact.
After the events of the First Tommian War, Kimara was sought after to restore the land using the powers of nature to make sure that history doesn't repeat itself; a plane's fate left in one man's hand. She and her followers formed the Shiryozen and began to infuse nature with their magic.
Colors: UB
Strategy: Control the game by cutting off resources; discard, mill, and counter
The Zankuno show no mercy. Rather than fighting a fight, they make sure the fight never begins by draining the opponent's resources and using powerful mind magic and counterspells.
Current Status in the Tommia Set: Leader of the Zankuno
Abilities: Read and purge minds, plant memories, counter magic
Colors: UB
Kontora spent hours in the Hyperbase's Archives, studying the "forbidden texts", that is, what the Hyperbase could have been, Joseph's rejected thoughts. He wanted to know everything about every particle of the very fabric of the Multiverse, and during the war helped rebels steal knowledge from the Hyperbase, in trade for his ability to read whatever they took before it was destroyed.
Kontora was a nobody after the wars. However, the rebels were leaving, and left Kontora with a deal: If he stayed on Tommia, he could keep a part of the rebel army to call his own. With this small army, he began to convert them into mages, and soon, he led a group of tome thieves that would stop at nothing to know everything.
Colors: BR
Strategy: Rule the game with swift punishment and an Iron Fist. Uses legendary creatures more than other factions.
The Tetsuken are what has become of the rebels of the Hyperbase. Their goal was to take over and turn a Hyperbase ruled by a "careless creator" into a Dictatorship ruled by one man and no one else. They will stop at nothing to make sure that they gain control of Tommia.
Current Status in the Tommia Set: Leader of the Tetsuken
Abilities: Brainwashing, swift enforcement, striking fear
Colors: BR
Hitsugi, a dark, twisted figure who craves power, both politically and physically. When Joseph came to Earthrealm, Hitsugi was removed from command and Joseph was put in charge, since he was its creator. Seeking revenge, Hitsugi rallied supporters and got enough allies together to start a rebellion.
After the war, with Joseph gone, Hitsugi now fights to rule Tommia alongside the remaining Tetsuken soldiers. He will fight to the bitter end, even if he's the last man left in his faction. He won't stop until he can turn Tommia into the perfect world it "used to be."
Colors: RU
Strategy: Quickly summon lots of hard to deal with creatures.
The Yosuka strike fast and strike hard. While most blue/red mages use thopters and such, the Yosuka use quick striking creatures and direct damage to keep opponents on their toes with an untouchable, unavoidable blitzkrieg.
Current Status in the Tommia Set: Leader of the Yosuka
Abilities: Quick and powerful spells, can keep an opponent on their toes
Colors: RU
Fuchi worked alongside Joseph to ensure that invading forces were quickly dealt with. However, discovering that Joseph had a Dream Mage working alongside him (Kakunote; Fuchi was unknowing that Joseph was also a Dream Mage), Fuchi left Joseph alone, decreasing the potential of the Hyperbase Army drastically, and causing its slow downfall. When the rebels came, Fuchi dealt the coup de grace to a badly wounded Hyperbase, forcing Joseph to leave.
After the war, the Yosuka decided to take over Tommia. It was inevitable; an army has powerful weapons and plenty of supplies for war, so eventually, they'll want to use them. Fuchi had war in his blood, and loved the thrill of taking down an adversary so fast they can't even flinch.
Current Status in the Tommia Set: Planeswalker, Assassin
Abilities: Planeswalking, can quickly identify any possible way to kill something, witchcraft
Colors: RBW
Alan Maxis is former enemy, now ally, to Joseph Bigham. He kills the unjust, the sinful; those who put the world in danger. At one point time, he was corrupted by the power of the Chain Veil, stealing it and using it as his mask. However, after finding out what it did to its user, he abandoned the Chain Veil, put it back where it belonged.
During the First Tommian War, Alan Maxis helped Joseph in commanding his army, taking down key targets with ease. However, he heard rumors from a rebel that Joseph was in possession of the Chain Veil, and they were afraid that he would give in to its power. Maxis fell for the trap, and turned on his peer. Thankfully, Joseph was able to convince him that the Chain Veil had long been property of the Planeswalker Garruk before it was too late. Maxis's mind was still slightly scarred from the Veil, and this led him to make the foolish mistake of siding with the rebels, for the thought that they may carry the Veil instead.
After leading the rebels in combat, he found out they did not have the Veil. However, after being with them for so long, he had no reason to leave, and made it up to the rank of leader after the former leader died in combat. He led them through the First Tommian War, and he even led them to combat invaders of Earthrealm, but he abandoned them after finding out that they had resorted to cruel, gruesome means, leaving the Faction turned clan to its most suiting leader, Kiga.
However, he soon realized that the rebel force had secretly been a clan all along, and Kiga had been secretly leading it all along. Formerly putting Kiga in charge was Maxis's death wish, since Kiga could now put policy into place. The first order? Kill Maxis at all costs.
Maxis fought off waves of Nighuto (the clan's) forces, killing hundred of men, but soon, Kiga and his cohorts came onto the battlefield, consuming the flesh of their fallen allies to grow in power. These powerful forces, ever stronger from consuming the blood of their allies, swiftly attacked Maxis. With one fell strike, Kiga leveled Maxis, badly wounding him. But at this moment, Maxis's spark ignited. He cast a curse on all of these hunters, and ditched Earthrealm to return to Tommia, hoping Kiga would be far behind.
After the First Tommian War, Tommia was supposedly destroyed. However, with the memory of Tommia still in Joseph's mind, the Plane continued to exist
With Joseph gone from the Plane, along with any of his allies, the Plane was left without a leader. Now, with an empty throne to claim, Five Factions, all with different leaders and different motives, all fight to control this Plane.
The Battleground
Formerly a set of cities that thrived on futuristic technology, now it lies as a vast, heavily varying battlefield for the five factions, and all of the technology everyone relied on in their everyday lives is gone. The wartorn cities create such scenes as vast plains of stone and rubble, a tactical battleground for warriors of the sky with large amounts of skycrapers to fight around, or an impassible wall of metal and rock. Suburban areas have reverted back to nature, and the rural areas still remain untouched.
Fasiliti: Fasiliti is the capital of the Hyperbase, and, as such, the location of the JBYT HQ. Now, the massive capital building has been completely destroyed, along with the city's vital infrastructure and electronics systems. The city has been reduced to rubble.
Speilstadt: Litterally meaning "Play City" Speilstadt was made for fun, featuring entertainment technology such as RealLife VR. Due to its nature, this city was spared, but without the electronics systems, the city is worthless.
Slums: This lower area of Fasiliti is considered an entirely different city, since it contrasts sharply with the entire Hyperbase. Unfortunately, its position out in the open made it an easy target, and the Slums were destroyed in their entirety.
Ehmbrer: This city burns like no other. Lit with fire, its sense of danger made it the first target. It was quickly destroyed, and still burns today.
Powlier: Almost all of the inner Hyperbase's power comes from the Core, but what about the outer cities (the ring)? This power plant exploded pretty nicely in the attack, to say the least.
The Core: Those who want to live high-risk go to the Core... no pun intended. No, seriously. All of the high-risk thrills you want can be found here, including the opportunity... to live next to an extremely dangerous nuclear core. Due to the nature of the Core, it was swiftly attacked, and the shockwave was large enough to span the entire plane.
Polaina, Faros, Swana, Montaina, and Ieland: Due to the fact that nature was mostly untampered here, these cities were left alone since few lived here.
Hyperbase Ruins: This place was already destroyed. Need I say more?
the horror.
Don't worry though. Soon you can participate just as you've (probably) waited to do! I'm working on the base cards of the set: the land cycles. You may know this, but the Hyperbase was famous for several locales called "JBYT Cities", very powerful lands. In this set, I'm making lands with a similar concept, but balanced to feel like real Magic cards.

War doesn't come from the air. Neither does the desire to rule. Now it's time to find out what exactly pushes the Five Leaders, and Joseph, to rule the plane of Tommia.
Joseph Bigham: This Dream Mage turned planeswalker is a pacifist at heart, but a fighter at the surface. After his "spark" ignited, he was unwillingly taken to Tommia by the voices of its people. They want him to rule again.
Kakunote: Kakunote is proud of his past accomplishments, and feels that Tommia needs a leader like him. He led Joseph's armies back before the Panel of Enforcers relieved him of his duty. He feels that if Joseph takes over before him, history may repeat itself.
Kimara: Kimara does not seek to rule or control, or be looked upon highly for that matter. Her goal is to eliminate competition and expel all traces of a ruler; then, society can grow freely alongside nature, and live under God only.
Kontora: Kontora and her Clan are mixed in motive, but if one is achieved, so will the other. Kontora's thirst for knowledge as a tome thief and a reader of forbidden texts has taken her over, and now her goal is to take over, so then she can gain access to all the information Tommia has to offer.
Hitsugi: Hitsugi grew up with extremely strict parents that taught him "how to act" with violence. When he became an adult, he envisioned a Hyperbase where no man would step out of line, for fear of death would keep them in check. No one would rebel, no one could rebel; an Iron Fist smashing the forces of rebellion and war.
Fuchi: Fuchi seeks freedom and grace, and wants to make sure Tommia is protected with an unstoppable force. He plans to "take over" to get rid of the role of leader, so then the people could rule themselves. He also plans on creating the most potent League of Mages in the multiverse, one that will free the entire system from oppression.
