Vampires of Innistrad
So, with the new Innistrad block coming up in April, we're going to have a lot of returning monster creatures. Werewolfs, zombies, spirits, stuff like that... But if you know me, you'd know that my personal favorite monster of Innistrad are the VAMPIRES!
So I've decided to set up this contest, to see who can make the BEST VAMPIRE CARD! Here are some of the rules for the card-making...
- Must be vampire related!
- If it's a creature, it has to say "Vampire" somewhere in the subtype.
There isn't much more than that! Only one entry per person and this contest should end roughly sometime next weekend, although that's not final...
Anyways, here are the prizes!
1st Place - Trophy card, a card made by me based on your account, and five likes on any cards of their choice.
2nd Place - Trophy card and three likes on any cards of their choice.
3rd Place - Two likes on any cards of their choice.
That's all... Good luck, everyone!

I'll have the winners up sometime tomorrow, probably.
Now, there were a lot of entries... about 25 or 26, I think? And honestly, all of them were pretty great! I love seeing everyone's own individual creativity put into portraying these cards! So remember, if your card wasn't in the top three, it doesn't mean I hated it! I enjoyed seeing everyone's entry and I really love hosting these kinds of contests!
Also, as I said before, there were a ton of good entries, so it was very difficult to pick just three, so before we get to those three, here are a few honorable mentions...
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Call of the Sire by @Supermunkie1
http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/call-of-the-sire
To tell the truth, when I first saw this card, I was pretty convinced it was gonna end up in the top three! I was pretty amazed by the creativity in a vampire-based sorcery! It was decently balanced and is a really rewarding card! Even the flavor text was great! One drawback, though, was that there aren't too many good vampires you can play with CMCs of 5 or greater... It's still an amazing card and I really enjoyed having it as an entry in this contest!
Farbog Ritualist by @MrRansom

I really love how creative you could get with this kind of a card in a game! It can really buff up some good vampires! I admire how it's kept balanced by giving the player the choice of dividing the counters. However, I did find the aspect of giving it "Haste" a tiny bit unnecessary... Also, (and this might be me just being nit-picky) I feel like it might be a bit more "vampire-y" if you threw in some black. Maybe change the red in it's mana cost to hybrid red/black or change it to just black, making it's activated ability more of a privilege to people playing multicolored decks! These are just some suggestions I threw around in my head, but all-in-all, it's a cool card!
Sunburst by @Longshot1010

A lot like "Call of the Sire" but on the other end of the spectrum... It clears all the vampires off the board for 5 mana but gives the players a chance to sac a human and regenerate one of their vampires! It's a great card idea and very creative! The text is a tiny bit confusing though when it comes to putting cleric tokens on the battlefield. When I first read the card I was a little confused about which side the cleric would be put onto the battlefield for, which is the side of the caster, but the text being a run-on from the whole "sac a human and regenerate" was a bit misleading- however, again, this could just be me being all picky and stuff, but it's still a great card with a lot of creative effort in it!
Once again, there were loads of great vampire cards you guys presented me with and a lot of them were great, but what kind of contest would this be if I praised each one equally? Anyways, now that we have the Honorable Mentions out of the way, let's get to the Winners!
THE WINNERS
THIRD PLACE
Mistress of the Bitterhex by @Gelectrode
http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/mistress-of-the-bitterhex
This card is a great game-changer! It can help completely throw off your opponent's game! Forcing them to skip a chosen step of their turn and doubling as a great defensive blocker with flying and deathtouch, this card kills two birds with one stone! It's skillfully balanced with it's hefty mana cost and definitely worth playing! A few very minor problems I had with it though were that it didn't seem very vampiric to me. It seems a little bit more suited for blue... But again, that's only a very little problem I had and otherwise, everything about this card seems amazing!
SECOND PLACE
Pyyri Guildmage by @Tesarand
http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/pyyri-guildmage
Wow! This is probably one of the most vampire-like cards on here! Not that the other cards weren't vampire-esque enough, it's just that this card really lives up to the name "vampire"! Equipped with lifelink AND the ability to even change other creatures into vampires, this card is a awesome example of glorious vampire prestige! It's also an amazing card for early-game kills and it doubles as an epic opportunity to regain the upper-hand when your life is dwindling! I love it!
FIRST PLACE
Sevara, Daughter of Fire by @Boomfat
http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/sevara-daughter-of-fire?list=user
This card is so unique and creative, it really deserves first place! While this card is kind of weak when it comes to power/toughness, it's an amazing example of the vampire life-drain tactic, and the more lesser-known power of getting counters by means relating to life total, and it does it in such a creative way with "X is equal to your opponent's starting life total minus their current life total." There's not much to critique with this card but if I HAD to, I'd recommend changing it to a gold card instead of keeping it as red even with red and black in it's mana cost. I see why you might have wanted it to stay red but it just kinda bugs me when people change the physical color of the card against the actual colors in the mana cost. And the other, final thing that slightly bugged me was the fact that Sevara was a "Vampire Legend," which was what the legendary cards were called back in the days of seventh edition and earlier, so it would've made a little more sense to just leave it as "vampire" or something like "vampire soldier" or something, but I shouldn't really be pointing out the ONLY TWO very small things that kind-sorta annoyed me with this card because it's at the number one spot! It's an amazing card at the end of the day with great aspects and even a great choice of artwork! I really enjoyed this card and it truly does deserve first place!
So, those are the winners! I really enjoyed hosting this contest and am happily surprised at how many people entered! Thank you everyone for participating!
As for the winners and your prizes, please comment what you would like your favorites to be, and I'll have the trophy cards and custom card for first up A.S.A.P. BTW, I decided, why not throw in a trophy for third place, too? Just to make things complete for those of you with OCD and stuff :P So yeah, I'll have those up and you guys can just go ahead and comment what cards you'd like me to favorite! ^u^
... Waaaaiiittt a minute... The new "follower" aspect was released today, too! I don't think it be very appropriate of me to not reward you guys with THAT in the prizes as well! So, as (another) final addition to the prizes, I'll be following the first place winner, @Boomfat
