Flash Contest! Let's Show Dechujoh64 Some Love
Guys my good friend @Dechujoh64 is frustrated. He feels his cards are not getting as much recognition that he would like them to receive. We all have felt that frustration. I would like him to keep trucking along, and keep coming up with the awesome, creative cards he comes up with. That being said, we talked this out over lunch and he said he'd like to see people come up with better versions of cards that he has made. I looked at him, and said "consider it done." So, without further ado, lets get to the contest!
In order to win in this contest, you simply have to make @Dechujoh64 happy. Make him smile. Make him say off the wall things like, 'oh my gosh!' and 'ooohh, thats awesome!'
It's simple, really. All you have to do is take a card by @Dechujoh64 and remake it to the best of your ability. He needs to see he is loved here from us, so lets show him that people do pay attention to his work and do take the time to check his cards out.
I asked him if I can do an example, he gave me permission, so here is my example: On the left is the original, on the right is my version of the card:
Thats basically it. Heres the rules:
1.) No limit on entries.
2.) Show the original along with the remake.
3.) Entries due by 5/17/18.
Here is the prizes:
3rd place gets 3 favorites of their choice for me to favorite.
2nd place gets 4 favorites of their choice for me to favorite.
1st place gets 5 favorites of their choice for me to favorite.
I will favorite all entries coming in. Be patient if I don't get to it right away, I will get to it Please say some words of encouragement to @Dechujoh64 if you can, it would be awesome to see that from the awesome community we have here.
Thank you much guys, and, as always, happy cardsmithing! - sorinjace
Oh, and he doesn't know this yet, but he will be the judge of the entries. I think that makes the most sense since they are his creations, right?

If you want us to see your cards more often, I suggest you to update your cards when you get critics on your cards. (or at least replay to those comments.) Otherwise people would start to think you are not interested in making good cards or getting recognition.

My comments being ignored and seeing you make same mistakes is frustrating, because you favorite my cards, I want you to make cards that I can press its favorite button!
Just doing what you're doing now, making fun challenges and making the community a fun place to be are what set you apart on our site... the favorites are just a fun thing we do while we make all these wicked cards!

Thanks for taking my suggestions and editing those cards! They look better now!
I'm not the only one. Maybe people are busy for card making now because there are so many fun contests going on in the forums right now.
If you make action keywords, it will happen soon XD
@Dechujoh64 Your first card is only 6 months old and your name is already in favored members section. That's a remarkable thing!
This original card was a bit complicated and OP. The original art didn't convey the feel of the card. Special thanks to the original card maker whose name I cannot recall... and @Tomigon for his incredible help!

Protector of Arngrim

I reimagined the card into a simplified protector of a holdfast named Arngrim full of humans and Dwarven allies ^.^

BTW @Lastjustice I just made my 1st amulet and 1st insect cards just today check em out when you can let me know what you think please thanks!
One strike against many of your cards is that you Capitalize Keyword Abilities Too Much.
For example, I've seen cards of yours that say, e.g., "Flying, First Strike".
You only need to capitalize the first letter, e.g. "Flying, first strike".
Do that and most of your cards will be more palatable in my eyes.
(Sorry if it's a little harsh, but wording problems are too often seen on MTGCS, so I'm hoping I can cut down on this one.)
Dechujoh64 I do follow you now!
I don't call that a problem. Some people like to do that on purpose, especially people who played early expansions.

@Mana527
3.) Entries due by 5/17/18.
I made a Sorceress version of your Eirlys, Wintery Mistress
I got the idea of the triggered ability from your flavor text.
Sorry for the confusion!
That leads to a bigger problem trend I've seen on MTGCS - people are using old wording. For example, I've seen cards saying "W:Vigilance."
I know some people like to be classic and word their cards like it's 1993 again, but I - and this is just me - prefer all cards trying to use the latest wording and keywords. For example, when I see someone use "banding" on a card, I dislike it very much because it's overly complex and I don't see it often because Wizards abandoned it since, like, Weatherlight, but for some reason it's become the new popular thing to do even though I bet most people don't half understand it.
(Sorry that this tangent about old cards turned into a tangent about banding, both of them really annoy me.)
