@EnvyReaper That ability actually exists, it's called changeling, but it's not really worth bringing up unless the set has a really strong tribal theme and that's not shaping to be the case. It it flavourful but it would increase complexity too much for what it brings to the set. We could consider it as a one-of though ^^
@ningyounk Dang, I see your point, well anyways a new type of land could be cool, kind of like Frozen lands, but instead of snow mana mirage lands could give something else other than the normal mana
I think Mirage lands would be a bad direction to go, for two reasons. The first is that we're already asking people to keep track of a lot: Psylian life and masterpieces being the most intensive, and special lands wouldn't help much. The second is that I currently don't feel "mirage" lands fit flavorfully with the Renaissance or 14th-17th century Italy. That's just me though. Maybe we make some kind of uncommon land cycle, but a brand new flashy thing that you have to be aware of and keep an eye on probably wouldn't fit.
@ningyounk Ill try to make a sketch for a psylian mana symbol
@Lujikul I mean, kinda, but the mana could be used for some cool things like abilities, maybe it can only be used by beings that can use pure psylian mana instead of the regular mana, possibly allowing there to be creatures that can use it, it doesn't even have to be used by powerful people, as in maybe some creatures can utilise and tap into the pure mana of Rezatta, kinda like how Appa from Avatar: The Last Airbender could use the power of air to fly even though he was just an animal
@Tigersol that art that I made was for an idea I had for creatures to possibly be able to tap into pure psyllian mana
The mechanic to collect the Psyllian mana would be similar to the snow mana mechanic in where instead of something like Snow Covered Plains, we would have Mirage Plains that would dispense Psyllian mana
For me the way you can tell whether something is just simply an art land rather than a mirage land is if say the mirage land looks like reality is bending, while normal lands look, normal
Mirage
Regular
But if that mechanic doesn't work out well then it can still be used to represent the psyllian life total
1) About the Psylian life symbol: It looks good but there are a bunch of parameters you probably don't know about that factors in about psylian life:
- Psylian life is still a concept name, while everyone has getting pretty used to it xD Ideally, we'd have another name that conveys the concept of Renaissance itself in that slot. We could theoretically keep that name but, if we put things in their broader context, that means we lock the fourth mechanic on the concept of Renaissance itself then, we don't do scientific progress in this case. (Which is totally acceptable, scientific progress is easy to convey through a lot of staple effects anyways.)
- Psylian life is not mana On top of that we cannot use new symbols on MTGCardsmith. And finally, it's better to use the words "psylian life" to convey to the player that it's just a type of life. For all those three reasons, we wouldn't use a psylian symbol on the cards. That said, there is one place where we could use a psylian life symbol, which is the reminder token (just like you had poison counters represented by the letter Phi even though the text on the cards was just "You get a poison counter" not "You get Φ".
- The concept name psylian life comes from phyrexian mana, because phyrexian mana is mana that you can pay with life, while psylian life is life that gives you mana. As such, if we used that name, I think it'd be more suiting to base ourselves on the greek letter psy (Ψ) fore the symbol rather than the roman letter P, so we mirror phyrexian mana.
2) On the Mirage Lands mecanic:
Psylian life can produce mana, so we won't make costs that can only be paid with psylian life because it defeats the point of the mechanic which is supposed to be compatible with any spell. Also that would be horribly parasitic Besides, it's a quite confusing mechanic already, asking people to track if their mana comes from psylian life would increase the confusion on its nature (it's life, not mana). We have to be very clean on its execution or people will misuse it ^^" For the same reason, we won't make lands that produce psylian life like you produce mana, we don't want people to confuse it with mana. Which is why the lands are probably not a good idea mechanically speaking.
Also have we got down the idea of the concepts involving the color of the card as well (Art = Red) (Progress and Invention = Blue) (Religion = White) (Sorrow, death, and acceptance = Black[?]) (Loyalty = Green[?])
@murkletins I think so too but if we are going to have these concepts I think it could be a little less confusing to have a guide people can base their cards off of (Not a rule but a guide)
Ok so the renaissance also included songs, I think there should also be more song cards made, so now that I got premium membership (I made Peace in Dumaran) I am able to use the Rezatta symbol, I made a card concept called Neverending Piece and it is supposed to be a sorcery, can someone help me brainstorm what to put for the cost and the mechanics of the card

I found this on an auction site btw, $425.00

Changelings *ARE* art creatures

It's great! I love it! Thanks for making it.

I believe Art cards are in all colors, if I'm not mistaken.
