  • Okay, those artifacts should be similar to this probably?

    Yeah, makes sense.

    MUST SAY - BE CAREFUL WITH FLYING MACHINES. THEY MUST SEEM JANKY, OR IT WOULDN'T MAKE SENSE THAT THE GOBLINS HAVEN'T BREACHED THE WALLS YET.

    I think @sanjaya666 has the right idea with Mav & Rick, because he makes it a mechanic that the ship needs to be powered up before it can fly, and as such they don't risk flying it into the city.

    That's a flavour win in my eyes.
  • Here's that thing I was rambling about earlier. It's unfinished and generally bad, but you get what I mean. Maybe.

    For the sake of saying it, this isn't a final concept in any way. I just stuck some stuff that I thought "Hey, that might fit." about into a thing and decided to call it an example.

    @MemoryHead

    Keep developing that. It could turn out useful.

  • @HeroKP For the sake of saying what I said before, permanent effects based on spent mana is probably a bad idea. We only see that in un-sets for a reason.

    On a separate note, are the blue-red guys a bit more artifice-y now?

    @MemoryHead

    Yes, I gave in to demands. Check the spreadsheets for info.

    Also, I am genuinely curious, why do you not like the idea? We'll keep it just to this cycle to honour your opinion, but I really want to know.

    @HeroKP Assuming that you mean the concept of permanent ideas, it's because they're a pain to represent, especially in casual games. You can't show them with dice because they might be mistaken for +1/+1 counters and you can't just remember them because they can be overly complex.

    I feel like there's something you could do with some sort of split-creature or something, a bit like one of these but with creatures and a different layout.

    Having written that, I now actually think that might be a good idea if we can find a way to execute it. Only problems are that tapping would prove confusing, it'd need some image editing and that I can't use the kamigawa one because it was dropped for a reason, so perhaps not.
  • @MemoryHead

    Worst case scenario, write it down on a piece of paper. Best case scenario - bath beads.
  • If this is suppose to be draftable I think Inkri need a redesign. It seems he'd blow out the competition in whatever game he was in.
  • @Derain2 I've personally got a suspicion that all of the goblin leaders are going to see a redesign once more of the set is done to fit in terms of balance and changing faction ideals. On a more direct note then yeah, Inkri is completely busted.
  • @HeroKP It's occured to me that I probably should have said this a while ago, but basing effects off of mana colors spent (thinking of the 1-drop cycle) is formatted like I've done it on my Savagery's Servant card. You use the actual mana symbols. More of a formatting thing than anything else, but it matters.
  • @MemoryHead @Derain2 @pjbear2005 @kandra127 @sanjaya666

    LET'S JUST GO AHEAD AND CALL THIS THE "FIRST DRAFT" STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT, SO WE CAN OVERLOOK MINOR BALANCING AND FORMATTING ERRORS AND CORRECT THEM LATER. THE MOST NEEDED NOW IS TO MAKE THE SKELETON OF THE CARDS AND LAY DOWN BASIC IDEAS.

    @HeroKP Ok, so that means mechanics and what each of the factions vaguely do, right (for example "Izzet is artificers, spellslinging and goblins")?
  • @MemoryHead

    And what each card does, roughly.
