This will be my first contest, i'm a bit excited to see what everyone thinks.
There's a Mikaeus the Lunarch in W/G for you.
Tried my hand at a new mechanic, but I'm not sure if it's worded right, so anyone who sees a better way to word martyr, please let me know! I'll be super grateful cause I think it could be a really cool mechanic.
Also, 10 more days to go to get your submission(s) in guys! Beautiful and solid designs have been submitted so far, lets keep it up!
Yeah I really wasn't a fan of resorting to that language but it was the only way I could make it work. If I could, I would just say "This creature dies before other creatures that would die at the same time as it" but tbh I didn't think that would honestly mean much. That's basically all it is. So like, if your opponent casts Wrath of God, a creature with martyr will be destroyed before all other creatures that would be destroyed from Wrath. The plan is to build creatures that have some pretty decent "when this creature dies" effects that might save you or help you in those scenarios.
It just seemed too weird to say "This creature dies before creatures without martyr" or "If this creature would die, it dies before all other creatures that would die at the same time" (this was the original wording) just because dying and times seem like very vague things that don't necessarily mean anything when put that way in magic.
More submissions will be coming from me though! Just have to find some good art. Cheers
