Strive for Perfection **CIRCUIT CHALLENGE**
Hello fellow smiths.
As you can tell by this title, your job is creating cards using the Strive mechanic from the Theros sets.
I will be awarding prizes as follows.
1st place: A follow, 4 favorites and 1 Circuit Point.
2nd place: 3 favorites and 3/4 Circuit Point.
3rd place: 2 favorites and 1/2 Circuit Point.
Honorable mention: 1 favorite and 1/4 Circuit Point.
In addition, the Creator of the card with the best formatting and well-roundness will receive 2 favorites.
Deadline for creations is September 15th. No limit on entries, unless you go hog wild, then I might ask you to stop making cards.
Happy smithing.

Alright, deadline for submitting cards is September 15th.
Might be able to make a card or two...
Strive doesn't work for permanent cards with EtB. Because you don't select the spell's targets as you cast.
@Revan If the wording is fixed, I’m replacing my previous entry with this one.
I'm afraid that doesn't work neither. The targets are chosen when "When you cast ____" ability triggers. Strive ability needs to choose targets as you cast the spell. Not "when". You decide its cost and targets at the same time. So basically Strive mechanic is only possible on instant and sorcery cards.
CR 114. Targets

.... The target(s) are chosen as the spell is cast.
I was pretty sure that those didn't work. Thanks for clarifying!
Strive
As you cast this choose any number of targets and put a prey counter on those.
When this attacks, deal 1 damage to those targets.
Something like that.
You're welcome!
@fiskerton
No, it doesn't work. The word "target" is used in spells or abilities that use stack. The ability you suggested looks like a static ability. You can't use the word "target" in static abilities.
Would giving a creature Flash allow it to have a Strive ability?
No it wouldn't. Flash doesn't make a permanent spell an instant spell. It only allows you to cast anytime you could cast an instant.
Ok, thought I should get that cleared up.
I will still be willing to judge your creatures as entries, even though they are technically not an option, but was interesting to see people using Strive on creatures.
Instants and Sorceries will have precedence though.
