  • Is this forum still open?
  • @Mir-151414 This contest is still open. Please submit the 4 required cards by the 22nd to join.
  • So, @Tommia I say "What groups I want to be affiliated with" and then post 4 cards explaining some kind of back story about them? Sorry, I don't know much with the contests and am a bit behind. Maybe you could explain a bit more.

@Mir-151414 [your name apparently does not allow the @mention]

check the first page for character creation rules and examples thereof, based on that you'll need to choose a location which you signify in your second card. You might want to check out the current players' locations and pairings in this contest to see where you'd fit. Your third card will need to deal with a creature which is also found in this contest and lastly depending on your chosen location @Tommia may either assign you to deal with an already created creature or make you face a new creation.

    hope this helps a bit
  • @Mir-151414 It stands for Converted Mana Cost.
  • Converted mana cost
  • Converted mana cost, otherwise known as the total amount of mana in the cost.

    Ex. 1UR = 3

Note: Hybrid costs count as the higher of the values in it.
  • Well then. I think the question is answered XD
  • Yeah, we all responded at the same approximate time. Weird. :)
  • I'd like Selesnya, Abzan or Orzhov.
  • So if I was Abzan, I'd make cards with Black, White or Green?
  • edited November 2019
Yup. As long as any card you make, multicolored or not, fits within those three colors, you're good. Your cards, including your character, do not have to be all three. They just can't have any other color
  • “I need to get through that thing somehow,” Yadgar muttered to himself.

A massive fireball flew towards Yadgar. He flung himself out of the way. Then thrust his hands in front of him to attempt another calming dream spell. His spell hit its mark, only the same thing didn’t happen again. It absorbed the spell, and used it as fuel for more attack. Now the Fury was slinging blood red spells at the mind mage.

Yadgar threw a book towards the spell. It exploded in midair, causing smoke to fill the area. A black ball of flame soared towards Yadgar.

“Aargh!” Yadgar cried as he was thrown back into the wall. The whole front of his body was singed badly, including his clothes. “How do I stop this thing?”

Another spell soared towards the memory mage. He cowered behind a large wooden bookshelf. It started to burn wildly, adding more smoke to the smoky area. Finally, it started collapse, and as it did another fireball appeared right in front of him. The spell was timed perfectly.

Yadgar was set aflame, his body was screaming in agony. There was a fountain nearby.

I need to get there as fast as I can! But how do I get there? I know! I’ll fight chaos with chaos!

Yadgar released hundreds of chaotic memories in front of himself. This shielded the human as he rushed towards the fountain, setting books and shelves on fire as he ran.

    *SPLASH*

Yadgar breathed a sigh of relief. Phew! That was a close one.

Another red spell shot towards Yadgar.

“Can this ever stop!?” he cried.

He jumped out of the water fountain and watched it exploded. The water cleared the smoke and illusions, Yadgar was back to where he started.

    “How about this?”

A stream of chaotic memories started to attack Yadgar’s attacker’s mind. It started to recede, becoming smaller and smaller every second.

    “Now’s my chance!” Yadgar yelled.

    @Tommia Is this card okay?

Weyart was a champion of Abzan, but was falsely accused of murder and became an outcast. He now travels all over Tarkir seeking worthy opponents to face, doing so each time with honor. Artifacts are a newfangled thing to him and he has yet to develop an attack or defense against them.
https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/weyart-roving-champion I hope this card works.
  • Weyart roared in defiance as the Gruul behemoth turned to charge yet again. Extremely bloodied, yet still standing on both feet.
He raised his axes preparing for the next onslaught. It never came. A brilliant light, followed by a cataclysmic explosion rocked the ground where he stood, and the force of the explosion caused him to rocket many meters into the air before he fell back to earth, into the midst of the bubbling mass that his battleground had become. Then he disappeared.

He woke, days later it seemed in darkness, leaving him with no memory of what had happened before, only his name. Weyart.
Slowly staggering to his feet his eyes began to adjust, and he saw that he was in a cavernous room with no roof, filled with an occasional candle in the rubble on the floor. He began to see a paler patch far in the distance of the hall and guardedly made for it. As he neared it, he saw it was a wide staircase making its way to a throne. Then he saw the creature sitting on the throne.
"Come." It said. Weyart tentatively approached the throne, finding a slight pale human-like being sitting there.
"Where am I." He asked, gazing around.
"You are in a very old, hard to find chamber on the plane of Tarkir." The thing said. "None who end up here ever return to this place."
Weyart, rather skittish from his awakening in a new atmosphere with no memory said desperately, "What am I to do?"
"Make for the exit." the thing said. "And make for the west. there you will find a group called Abzan. they will take you in, and you will be welcome there."
Thanking the creature Weyart turned and slowly began to make his way out of the chamber, where his future lay.

Ando turned to face Slefa. "I... cannot protect you. I am sorry."

In a blink, his sword was free of its sheath. Light itself seemed to bend around the blade, seemingly uncertain of how to interact with such an object. The sword flared brightly, and a single, shrill scream escaped from it. A moment later, Ando was simply... gone. A subtle distortion passed between Slefa and the golems, like the haze above a fire, and Slefa was alone.

Montague turned around. There was an old, sickly looking man standing behind him. "And who are you?" Montague asked. The man didn't answer. "How impolite." Montague said. "I'll just have to teach you a lesson." A knife flew at the old man's chest, but it just seemed to pass through him like he wasn't even there. "Are you kidding me?" Montague exclaimed. "First I have to put down that firebeast, and now there's an old guy who is probably already dead, because I can't touch him. What's your problem?" The man stayed silent. Monague sighed, and said, "I would really like to keep talking, but I have places to go." Suddenly, the angel's knives began to spin in the air and melt into liquid steel. "Goodbye, sayonara, hasta la vista, whatever." Montague said as the liquified metal began to wrap itself around him. In the blink of an eye, the corrupted angel disappeared, the only reminder of his presence a small breath of wind.

Montague took off his cloak, anxious to get out of the dead village. The area around him seemed like an uninhabitable wasteland, but if he wandered far enough, he would find something... right?

The rage of this more powerful Wrath was almost palpable. Lilac didn't want to risk direct combat with it. Calling upon her sword's power, she summoned a phantsmal image of herself, and ordered it to stand between her and the approaching creature.

    image

Enraged by this new apparition, the wrath attacked it savagely, too hellbent to realise the image's attacks went harmlessly through it. Lilac knew the distraction would be short lived, so she took advantage of it while it lasted and sprinted away.
