Not sure if this contest is officially still going, but I'll comment anyway! This is a previously made cycle for the set I'm developing, Mirrodin Pure, with a convenient legend from that set too.
IMPORTANT: Now that you've seen the cards, (or haven't because you saw the giant IMPORTANT and thought it might be) I need to clear up some common confusion over the "Dawn" mechanic. The mana symbols you see in the text box ARE NOT costs, you don't need to pay them for the card's effect, it is merely a simple way to display the lands needed for the extra effect. Got it? Good.
FangQuil, you've broken the thread! You've brought us back! Corwinnn and kauyon were fighting and omg we didn't know what was going to happen! So many videos, and I got scared and confused and I even started to question my identity and sexuality and omg! Anyway you brought order back! (If only for a brief moment >.<)
I'm so sorry everyone, but you see it's not really my fault because I suffer from Obsessive Pop Culture Disorder. I'm seeing Dr. Katz, but he says there is little to no hope of a full recovery.
You never enter in my contests, why should i enter yours?
Edit: Before we start a HUGE flame war, this is not meant as a insult or anything like that, I just want to make sure next time I make a challenge more than 2 people enter it before it dies. Honestly, I have made almost 7 challenges now and only 1 of them has had enough entries to be ended ;-;
And how many scrolls did it take for you to get to that contest. It was at least 20, because no one apparently cares about my contests ;-;. Oh and for the record, that is not my newest contest, and this is the only 1 out of 7 that he has entered in.
It was actually the first one I looked at and it was on the first page... prolly just blind luck. XD The secret to having a successful contest or challenge is to make it compelling for the viewers. I have had a few dud contests as well, but it's not the fault of the Cardsmith if they don't find it to their liking. The best you can do is put the idea out there and hope that enough people take the time to enter.
For example, and this is just my own opinion,,, The Revel Challenge didn't seem well fleshed out. Two of the most savvy wordsmiths on the site had trouble with the mechanic, and so that turns people away because it looks overly complicated. Epic Elementals was a very successful challenge. Nice job on that one. People seemed to like this one. New Set Contest has quite a few entries, despite this being extremely vague. My suggestion for this is to start making the set. Show progress and work on all the storylines. People are going to lose interest if they think it's not going anywhere. And finally the Hannukah challenge... this is difficult to pull off, because it's so specific. If people know nothing about it, they won't enter. If the subject isn't compelling to them, they won't enter. It's not that it's a bad idea, it's just not striking a chord with the cardsmiths that are on right now.
Two of your four challenges have been well received, and two haven't. The other three discussions you have aren't challenges... they're just discussions. It might seem like no one is interested, but you have a whole challenge right now full of interested people who want to help you make that set... I counted 11 quality cardsmiths. A full set is a lot of work, so take all the help you can get while it lasts, because it won't last!
