  • @Tommia “I would be glad to accompany you to Jedam. I’m planning to take a few of my elite warriors along, though.”
  • Welp, here goes nothing and everything at the same time.

    @TezzeretofCarmot21 The demon smiles.

"Just what we would like to hear. Meet me here when you are ready."

You gather some of your finest before meeting the demon.

"My allies! Continue on without me! I will be busy..."

Suddenly, the demon thrusts his sword into the ground, and purple magic erupts from it.

"Oh great Xataxji. We have company."

The demon pulls the sword around your group in a circle, then steps inside the circle. Suddenly, you disappear and arrive in a marsh, at the bottom of a ziggurat.

"Ah... I heard there was a new elf clan. Come forward."

A slithering coil of demonic flesh runs around the ziggurat. As you are led to the top, you see a great demon, surrounded in an aura so foul that it's repulsive. He appears to be smoking from a narghile.

"I've never been much of a talker, so I'll make this quick. We think we've identified the location in which Conse will be summoned. Here's the kicker; it's in Nasita."
"Nasita? The city of demons?!" One of your guards exclaims.
"Quite the kicker, hm? Anyways, Khantsievth is also being summoned there."
    "You're kidding."
"Not at all. So, our plan is to perform a "lightning attack" on Nasita. We'll swarm the city... anyone who ends up in the way is just collateral damage. It's imperative that we stop the ritual for both of them. How you approach is up to you; with a force the size of yours, I want you to join me in my attack. Do we have a deal?"

@Tommia Zacarias turns to his guards and makes a swift hand gesture. The guards all respond in kind. He turns around and says, “My people and I would be glad to assist you in your attack. However, we will not be attacking with our full force; we’ll be leaving about a third of our people behind to make sure that our homeland remains safe. Two-thirds of our force is still a large force, though, and many of my soldiers would be glad to lay down their lives to save this world from the tyranny of the gods.”
He extends his arm to the side, and a vine coils around it like a sheath. “I would be honored to join you, Xataxji. You’d better have your information on the summoning right...”
  • @Bowler218 You're flustered as the group closes in. Their eyes are glowing as well, and their earlier hesitation they showed has been alleviated. The first to attack is the elf.

    "Dawnwood scum!"

As though it were instinct, you draw Thylinder, blocking several attacks from the elf. However, as they go to rest, you turn and realize the wolfkin has flanked you, Nohel's great form moves in and protects you, his giant sword blocking the wolfkin's relatively insignificant attack.

"You stand before a god, mortal. You would dare continue on?"

The wolfkin snarls, then suddenly, his eyes glow white.

"Go forth and kill! Release yourself of your human side, and answer the wolf's howl in your heart!"

Suddenly, a twisted aura surrounds the wolfkin. His more human features begin to vanish as he attacks again, and again, and again. Nohel parries with a well-timed attack, sending the wolfkin crashing into a wall with a spray of blood.

"Eheheh... Can you hear it?" The wolfkin stands back up without weakness. He's smiling.
"Don't play with me..." Nohel warns, preparing to attack again.
The wolfkin raises his paw in wonder "The moon... it calls me by name... it wants me to reach into the sky! To rise up and touch it!"
"Has everyone who has sworn allegiance to Timothy gone insane?" Nohel attacks the wolfkin again, and he flies into the wall once more. This time, the wolfkin gets up even quicker.
"I will come to the moon! I will grab it out of the sky and make it my own!"

    image

The wolfkin convulses, and a deafening howl fills the room. Everyone stops in their tracks, even the wolfkin's allies, as he suddenly begins to grow.

"I will assume this is Timothy's meddling and bring about your swift and merciful end. May your mind be cleansed of this insanity!"

Nohel imbues his blade with blue magic, and the impact from the heavy strike is enough to crack the cathedral floor. However, this time, the wolfkin remains standing. He counterattacks as his dirty robe is ripped from his growth, and Nohel flinches. The attack leaves a visible scratch, but not much else.

    "Hm. Touche."

While Nohel fights the wolfkin, you fire two quick shots from Thylinder at the elf. She flinches, but continues to charge at you. The farmer tries to stab you with his pitchfork, but you quickly dodge... and you're nearly struck by the demon that was once Nsatar. Just as you think things can't get worse, the pirate attacks from above, nearly catching you off guard. But somehow, some way, even with the weakening aura, you manage to not take a single hit. It would be disastrous, however, if you did, as you notice your skin turning grey and brittle.

You need a way out of this. There's no way you'll be able to run fast enough to escape. You can't get far away enough to pick them off. There's too many to engage in close combat. Nohel can only assist you so much, and now, the wolfkin matches him in stature. He continues to grow as the remaining clerics and guards crumble to dust around him, ever increasing his power.

"Vryx... this isn't working." Nohel grunts as the wolfkin takes a savage swipe at him, knocking him back. "We need more help. Is there anything you could possibly do to gather reinforcements?"

    Is there?... maybe...

You don't remember it that well. Some time in your training, you were taught by an animist how to summon creatures. You haven't had much experience with any form of magic, but Arlin realizes what you're trying to do. You feel her very being flow through you into the motions as you try to imagine what would be good at this time... you're outnumbered, outmatched, and now, outsized. You need something big that can hold back the enemies, and perhaps distract them. You raise your hands, and as you feel the power of the world flow through you-

    *CRASH*

One of the walls fall down on top of the farmer as something erupts from the ground, letting out a loud screech as it coils above.

"It... it blocks the moon... it must die!"

Suddenly, the wolfkin throws Nohel out of the way and attacks the wurm. Nohel notices his opportunity, preparing a spell, and he strikes the wolfkin's mind directly.

"I know... you've lived your entire life as an urchin, without purpose, and finally found it in serving Timothy... I'm sorry to take it away, but I promise you won't remember a thing."
"How about I make you a promise... you're going to regret this!"

Nohel finds nothing... the wolfkin's mind is somehow completely empty-

"Y-y-yes, I- actually- do, Timothy- gah! Snap out of it! I won't fall for your petty tricks!"
"I think you missed there, 'God' of the Cryptic! How about you try again?"
"I didn't think I'd actually get to say that you're literally braindead."
"I'm at least a good 300 years older than you. Don't mistake my insanity for stupidity, Nohel! This fine fellow is mine now. You'll find nothing in his mind except ambition, ferocity, and killer intent. And of course, now I have him infatuated with the moon..."

With Nohel's mental attack a whiff, he tries a physical one, stabbing the wolfkin in the back. The blade cuts deep, but Nohel has trouble removing it, not realizing how much strength he put into the blade. The wolfkin turns before Nohel can get back his blade, and the figure now sits higher than him. If the wolfkin isn't dealt with soon, there may be bigger concerns than just escaping...

    "Fonsar! Watch out-"

The wolfkin's desperate ambition to kill the wurm and "reach the moon" overtakes any concern for his allies. The pirate is suddenly crushed under his feet, dying almost instantly. The elf is shocked by this, seeming to snap out of whatever trance she was in, if for a moment. This is all it takes for her to be in the perfect place to be swallowed alive by the wurm, and all that remain are the wolfkin and Nsatar.

This fight needs to end. As time goes on, you notice that your joints are wearing. You seem to be suffering from dystrophy as the withering reaches inside of you. Your skin starts to flake away. However, you must remain focused. You raise your hand towards the wolfkin, and the wurm burrows out of the ground below him, knocking him off balance. Nsatar charges towards you, but he is stopped when falling rubble strikes him and knocks him down. The wolfkin grabs the wurm, attempting to rip it in half, but he overestimates himself in his bloodlust; he may tower over everyone below, but the wurm is much larger, and all he accomplishes is digging his claws in, holding it in his hands. It hisses, coiling around and biting him. He collapses in pain as blood covers the cathedral floor, spraying from an artery. Nohel follows as the wolfkin drops the wurm, impaling directly where the artery is exposed; the neck. As much as the wolfkin tries to fight, he shudders, his eyes rolling back as he approaches death's door. A burst of lunar power emits from him, killing him and leveling the entire cathedral, but the wurm protects you and Nohel from the blast...

Only N'Tara remains, with 4 HP. You are free to run now if you wish, or you can submit a card and attempt to incapacitate/kill him. The target is still 12, though a 15 will neutralize him instantly.

    @TezzeretofCarmot21 A few hours later...

It seems like every grave in Padetra has emptied. The air fills with horrid rot as your forces join Xataxji's undead around his ziggurat. It seems as though this entire army is a motley crew; people of all races, from all walks of life, stand before this demon. And today, you'll be joining them. It is quite ironic to be working alongside a powerful necromancer when your forces are basically the only living things in miles, but Xataxji assured you that he would subvert any casualties, bringing your forces back from the dead if they fall.

A shining light surrounds the ziggurat as Xataxji rises. He takes one last pull from his wretched pipe before putting it away.

"Our time has come, my allies and my minions."

As Xataxji's voice echoes through the marsh, you are suddenly corrected on your assumption that you were the only living beings here. In a moment, seemingly an entire ship's crew arrives. You look, and there are more people coming. Angels. Demons. Devils. Clerics. Cultists.

"I would like to thank all of you for coming here to aid our efforts against the Six. We will be raiding two cathedrals in Nasita. Both of them are supposed summoning grounds; to the north, Conse will be summoned. To the South, Khantsievth. Our priority should be that wretched Archdemon, but I would love if both of them got stopped. It doesn't matter how we do it; we must kill the cultists and clerics performing the summonings. We will claim the corpses for the sacrifice to Khantsievth as our very own allies! We will tear down the whole damned cathedral if we have to-"

"I suppose you would like some assistance with that..."

Everyone is startled as, suddenly, above the ziggurat, a massive, towering demon appears in a massive plume of smoke.

    image

"Zanletesh... you are just full of gifts and surprises, aren't you?"
"I didn't escape that wretched prison for nothing. I must punish the world for its misdeeds! I will kill every last angel at Conse's altar! I will bleed them until a river runs through Nasita! No matter what happens, know that a massacre is upon Stitia..."
"Quite the sales pitch for your plan. Now... I know many of you living, virtuous, high and mighty folk aren't akin to our degree of violence, so let this serve as a warning; let nothing stop you. Kill
everyone who stands in your path. If you would dare to slow us down by showing mercy, then you will become part of the slaughter. Is this understood?"

The entirety of the crowd yells in agreement. A cleric's three pointed scepter has been bent into a twisted shape more suitable for stabbing. A demon screams at the top of their lungs. A torchbearing mob throws their hats.

    "Now... let the slaughter begin!"

A funnel of magic emerges from the ziggurat, and an explosion erupts from it. Tens of thousands of people, your forces included, are transported to Nasita, descending from above in twisted balls of energy.

    image

Which will you prioritize: Khantsievth's Summoning, Conse's Summoning, or causing a diversion?
  • @Tommia

So the half-elf's name was Taylor Vich. Verth was about as thankful for Taylor's help as this agent was. Unlike Harry, however, Verth had nothing to repay the druid for his selfless and heroic actions in taking down these criminals. Suddenly, Harry turned to Verth and asked for the same information that he took from Taylor. Despite all he had been through, Verth complied, responding as honestly as he could to the officer with no regard for secrecy or deception. Even though his trust and faith was manipulated by Timothy, lying about his origins would be a victory for Timothy. It would mean that the fear that Timothy placed in Verth's heart had finally taken hold of him. Verth made a promise to Timothy that he would defeat him without giving in to fear, and he was going to fulfill that promise to the very end.

"My name is Verth Odbar. I'm not from here, and so I have no address to give you. I apologize. If that stirs suspicion, Mr. Fizex, I will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. However, I can answer one for you right now: I am just as dedicated to fighting injustice and evil as Taylor. That's what brought me here in the first place."
  • @Tommia
“I’ll attack Khantsievth head-on. Half of you soldiers, focus on stopping Conse, and half of you, come with me. Take no prisoners and fight like you’ve never fought before - the fate of the world depends on it!”
  • edited February 2020
@EpicBoss99 Taylor looks at you, hiding a smirk. Mr. Fizex adjusts his glasses. You can see the other agents retrieving the metal box in the back of the vehicle.

    "So you're homeless then?"
"I hate to say it... but I could kinda smell it," Taylor laughs. You give him a playful frown.
"Very well. I think we might be able to arrange something. If that's true, perhaps we could reward you in a special way. In the meantime, Taylor. Could you... perchance, house this man so we could find him more easily?"

Taylor half smiles and half frowns. You can tell he really wants to.

"I don't think my parents would let me."

Mr. Fizex is just as surprised as you.

"You still live with you're parents?"
    "Yeah. I'm only 16."
"Hmph. Very well. Is there anywhere nearby, perchance?"
    "...I think I know a place..."

You arrive at the closest thing resembling something from Stitia; a small path in the woods leads to a spacious tent. You suddenly hear a rumbling, and Taylor grabs the device from earlier, tapping on it.

    "Hello!"
    "Where the hell are you?!"
"I was still at the hospital with this guy. His name's-"
"I told you to leave him at the ****ing hospital! You don't know who the hell he is!"
"I wasn't just gonna leave him alone!"
"You need to listen to me for once. He could try to take advantage of you! He could be a serial killer for all you know!"
"I can fend for myself, dad! I just got finished doing so!"
"Hold on... you mom wants to know if you were at the Omninfirmary."
"Yeah, and we had to fight our way out."
"You're ****ing kidding me. Are you trying to get yourself killed?!"
    "No... no I'm not."
"Get your a** back here. We need to have a talk."
    "Okay..."
    "You address me as sir."
"Yes sir... I'm on my way..."

Taylor then presses on the device again. Whatever it is, it must be for long-distance communication.

"****ing parents. I'm probably dead after this one... Anyways, this is my Zed-99 shelter. Last resort for... if something goes wrong. No one comes around here, and there's plenty of food and water, so help yourself. Anyways, I'll seeya around, and try not to die."

As he leaves, Taylor gives you a peace sign. You look around the tent and find directions to several locations, including Taylor's house, and the house of his friend Jacob, as well as several things you're unable to identify. You're tired, so you find a sleeping bag inside and lie down to rest...

You are awoken when Taylor comes to see you. He seems really excited.

    "Verth! Verth! Wake up!"

You leave the tent, and see that Mr. Fizex is with him.

"Verth... you won't believe this! C'mon!"

You are led to a large black vehicle. You step inside and sit down in one of the seats, and the doors slide shut around you. Everyone puts on what appears to be belts, then the vehicle takes off. A beeping sound can be heard.

"Um... Verth? Your seatbelt isn't on."

You look, and see a belt similar to the others. You pull it over you, and look for a latch similar to the others. A click signals that you're secure.

You ride through the city; this is far more remarkable than anything Yrntrn has to offer. The entire ride seems to be silent, until Taylor decides to break the silence.

"I had to slip out of the house again... I really hope I don't get in trouble for this..."

Are Taylor's parents this strict? Many children on Stitia leave home at 16, yet it seems like Taylor is being kept under lock and key.

"My parents are a wreck. Both of them are addicted to tobacco, my mom's an alcoholic... I'm glad to catch a break."
"It happens to a lot of us. You should be thankful your parents are still alive."
"I would be... but my dad's explosive and certified insane, and my mom never spends any time with me, and she's always upset or just grouchy."
    "Sounds cliche."
"It is. It always feels like I'm walking on eggshells. Sometimes I... don't feel safe at home..."
    That would explain the shelter.

Minutes pass as Taylor taps on that device again. You look, and notice, as though he were on a typewriter, he presses on letters and words appear. He seems to be writing a song.

"So, Verth. I talked to Taylor about his situation. I think I'll be able to arrange something that will help you both."

Taylor perks up. Whatever Harry talked to him about must be great for Taylor's frown to suddenly flip into a smile.

You arrive at what appears to be a run-down set of buildings stacked on top of each other, dwarfed by the elaborate, pristine skyscrapers nearby.

"Welp, this is where I live." Taylor says. "Maybe while we're here I can convince my parents you aren't a murderous freakshow hellbent on violence."
"I feel offended." You hear Timothy say in your mind.
"H-hold on. What was that?" Taylor suddenly aims his hand at you. You haven't felt this feeling since... the day you met Joseph. A prodding in your very soul. "We- we're being watched."
    "What are you talking about?"
    "You wouldn't understand."

You and Harry go up a set of stairs with Taylor to the fourth floor of the building. Taylor knocks on the door, and a stocky buzzcut man answers the door.

"Who the hell are these people?"
    "Um-"

A wrinkled female half-elf limps towards the door on a cane, and the smell of tobacco and beer is overwhelming.

"No. These people are not coming in my house."
"Mom! This is an opportunity! A chance for us to better ourselves!"
"I wouldn't trust Harry. This deal sounds like a scam."
Harry steps up to the door. "I can assure you I'm an official agent of the SIT. Taylor is going into witness protection."
"What the hell happened when you were gone?!"
    "I made you proud."
"He performed a vigilante recovery with this fellow here. They recovered a highly coveted chemical that may be the key to curing cancer. It was just about to undergo its first clinical trial."
    "You can't cure cancer."
"I told you it was real, dad."
"Anyways, I'm very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause... but we need all of you to come with me."
    "Why?"
"They'll find out your son did this, the Red Street Gang, and none of you will be safe. You're marked targets now. Every member of your family is in danger. Your friends are in danger."
"Half of them can screw off," Taylor's father scoffs.
    "Dad..."
"This whole damn world can burn down. I'm not going anywhere -"
"Dad... they're going to pay us off! We'll get a new place!"
"I'm not leaving. Do whatever the hell you want. You can't live on your own."
"You know what? You can't live without me, and that's why I'm still here! I could of had the money to pursue what I wanted, but I was stuck here because you need the money! Now, we finally have an opportunity! A way out! And you're going to-"
    "Just shut up and leave!"
    "Dad..."
"I'm not gonna say it again. Pack your ****ing bags. You think this is the way out? The best thing for you? That's fine. Go. But trust me when I say you're going to regret this."
    "...you know what?"
    "Don't run your mouth..."
    "I don't trust you."

Suddenly, Taylor's father yokes him up.

"You really don't feel safe around here? Oh, I'll give you a ****ing reason to not feel safe-"
"Hey! Hey!" Taylor's mother rushes over, but one cold gaze stops her.
"This is none of your ****ing business-"
    "Let him go!"

Henry pulls out an electric weapon and attacks Taylor's father, but he's simply thrown back. Then, he hits Taylor.

"Stop it!" Taylor's mom strikes his dad in the back of the head with her cane. He turns, and she falls down, but out of nowhere, Taylor grows fangs and bites his father's hand.

A fight is about to break out. Will you intervene? If you do, you must make a card based on your response. The target is 10 for physical interference and 13 for non-violent resolution. Buffs, protection, etc. will be considered as physical interference for the sake of judging.
  • @Bowler218 The horror rises once again from the blast. Its arm snaps back into place, and it seems hellbent on killing you.

"Vryx... I gave up... everything to help you..." The horror struggles to say. "I gave my life for you Vryx. Can't you... give yours for me?"
"You're so selfish, Vryx. You really should let him kill you. It could be no more miserable than the pain he endured for you..."

You feel your emotions begin to sink. You can tell they're being influenced by magic, but you can't resist the sudden wav of melancholy washing over you.

Maybe... this is my fault. I didn't help him. I sat idle as he died... all trying to fight a battle I couldn't win in the first pla-

"Vryx! Snap out of it!" Arlin shouts out to you. You didn't even realize until now that you've collapsed to your knees. The moment you stand back up, you narrowly dodge the horror's next attack.

"Vryx! I'm coming!" Nohel flies in and knocks down the figure, sending a twisted leg flying across the ruins of the cathedral. "Whatever you did, keep doing it! I'll protect you!"

As you try to focus, a malignant aura infects Nohel. You look for only a brief moment, and it seems as though the horror is focusing all of his energy into weakening him.

"Just as Timothy has taken my soul... I shall take yours..."
"No... never..." Feathers turn to dust as Nohel holds the demon back.

This time, you remember. You call upon the powers that protect with utmost savagery. A power capable of fighting until the bitter end, even when there's nothing left to fight for. You set your sights upon Descour once again, and this time, you are focused, seemingly hand-picking the creature from a slew of beasts you have learned to fear...

The ground erupts again. Sand fills the air as the creature rises, roaring at the demon.

"Face me with honor, you coward! No wonder you wouldn't help me... you're too scared to fight for yourself..."

A great fist crashes on the demon. Several bones snap.

"Ngh... you really are determined to kill him, aren't you? I didn't think you had it in you!

The demon is flattened, seemingly beyond repair, but another surge of dark magic forces it to rise again, even as it faces deformities that would make any other creature unable to live, let alone fight. The demon claws and claws at the elemental to little effect barely chipping away at it. Another powerful strike shakes the ground, and the demon has been crushed like a fly, pieces scattered across the ground.

"Th-th-th-... thank you..." The demon lets out one last breath before scattering in a pentagon of light.
"Dammit! My slaves can never get things right! It's like they know I have more important things to do than stop you myself!"

The aura has faded. The withering slowly starts to subside, but you must remain careful; it may take a while to heal.

"It's fine, really! Go on and play the hero while you have the chance! I promise you this; when I come back, the daydream you live will become a nightmare come true!"

Here you are, back at square one. The cathedral is leveled, and Arlin will need to be taken elsewhere for treatment.

"I know what you're thinking, Vryx. 'What do we do now?' Personally, unless you want to find a place to get Arlin taken care of, I feel we should attempt to find any leads we can to get an edge on Timothy. While Verth takes the fight to him, we'll prepare for his return, lay some sort of trap of sorts. Sure, we can focus on other things, but I'll leave that call up to you. We could try to knock Conse down a peg, or look into the Arcanum."

    What will you do next?

  • @EnvyReaper "You don't have to go out of your way to help us," Lilith tells Lim.
"I do," Lim replies. "When I tried to tap into the leylines, the world screamed. Even the plane itself suffers."
"Set us free, please!" Scarf yells.

You decide that, maybe, it may be a good idea to leave Scarf and Rusty behind, but not in the same room. With a bit of manipulation, Rusty is suddenly pulled through the tree growth under him.

"What are you doing?" Lilith asks.
"He'll be spending some alone time in the nearest forest." Lim responds.
"Aw man... how will I torture Rusty now?" Scarf whines.
"You won't." Lilith scorns. "I think you both should take some time to reflect while we get Danny back."
"Now, I'm glad for the optimism," Schoren speaks up, "but with Kerial gone, how are we getting to Nasita?"
    "Swim," Scarf blurts.
"Ahem," Lim clears her throat. "When I tapped into the world, it revealed its secrets to me. There just so happens to be a tree near this place you call Nasita. I can you take you there through these roots."
    "Really?!" Lilith queries.
"Absolutely." You, Lilith, and Schoren are surrounded by light brambles that seem to be part of you. "Just walk into the tree..."

As Lim grabs the tree, her fingers turn to branches, and she becomes part of the tree and disappears.

"Alright, you too," Lilith informs the guards. "We're leaving. Keep an eye on Scarf for me."
    "Will do."

Lilith places her hand on the tree, and she is slightly startled as she becomes attached to it, then suddenly pulled through. Schoren goes next, and you follow as you wind through a great connection of roots, feeling as though you're being pulled through a funnel...

You arrive beside a withering tree, about a mile away from the Nasitan border. You look behind you, and it's a ghost town. Dried blood and withered skeletons cover the ground. You must be in Gothael. Lilith starts coughing.

"This is where the last outbreak started." Lilith mourns.

A rat scurries along the ground, sniffing at Lilith's feet.

"I... don't want to stay here- GAH!"

The rat bites into Lilith's foot. She stomps on it several times, killing it, but sadly, it doesn't seem to be alone.

"Dammit!" Schoren yells out. "Everyone, kill the rats! They could be infected!"

Make a card to deal with at least one copy of Septic Rats. The target is 10

@MonkeyPirate2002 ignore your challenge. This scenario takes prescedence.
@Pepperoni Due to extended inactivity, Tiel is now autonomous.

@TezzeretofCarmot21 You follow Xataxji and his main slew of forces towards a sinister cathedral that spans for miles. The roof is covered with people dressed in similar, dark garbs, and almost all of them are holding pointed scepters. You near the roof, and you can hear a dark hymn.

    "What is that-"

@MonkeyPirate2002 @TezzeretofCarnot21 K'Trinop is about to engage with a demon on the rooftop, when suddenly, the demon is crushed by a swirling ball of purple energy. Hundreds, no, thousands follow it, blasting holes into the rooftop and the street below. From them emerge slews of beings, from the undead to the living, from demons to angels, and everything in between. However, two of them seem to be far more powerful than the others.

    imageimage

Xataxji's long, serpentine body unfurls, sweeping dozens of cultists off their feet and sending many falling to their doom. A dread presence fills the air, and the silence that once populated the rooftop has finally been broken.

"Is... that him? Is that the Archdemon?!"

A plume of smoke erupts from the center of the rooftop. Onlookers are in awe as a great demon rises from the smoke, smiling and laughing hideously, but...

    image

"Heathens of Nasita! My return is upon you!"

There's a muttering among the summoners. Is this really him?

"You seek to spread chaos and disorder among the people of Stitia! You wish to bring this world to an untimely end! You will pay for your foolishness, for I have returned to claim that which is rightfully mine! "

Chains whip across the rooftop, causing it to collapse and killing hundreds.

    "It's not him!"
    "Khantsievth! We need you!"
"May this trespasser suffer a fitting end!"

@TezzeretofCarmot21 The assault has begun! Make three cards, one to represent your actions, one to represent a member of your forces, and a third to represent something else (weapon, spell, army buff, etc.). Your score will be the average of the three cards, with a target of 10.

@MonkeyPirate2002 What will you do now that an assault has begun on the cathedral?

    @Tommia

Greatly disturbed by the fighting, Verth quickly places a hand on his heart, then radiates a wave of white magic that floods the room in light. Should his magic work, everyone in the room will be calmed and cease their fighting by the time they regain their sight.

"Look, I don't know what any of you are going through, and I have no right to talk about your problems," Verth relented, "But fighting each-other won't solve anything. All it will do is lead to more resentment and more fighting." After finishing what he had to say, Verth picks up a chair that was knocked down and sits in it, upset by what he just saw.

@TAHMURAS As Ern kills the elf, you suddenly regret not listening to the voice. The sudden betrayal of Ern clicks something inside of you, and your bloodlust is instant and catastrophic. Ern turns to strike another elf down, but her sword shatters as you strike her full force. You can't help yourself as you dismember her, giving in to your temper.

    "T-Tahmuras..."
"Such savagery... impressive! Show me more! Paint the walls with their blood!"

You hear rocks fall, blocking the way out, but you don't seem to notice. Your bloodlust is so great that nothing matters to you now except quenching it.

"We... must decide the new leader of our group through combat. Tahmuras... I challlenge- YUK!"

Another slash kills another elf. The others back up as your eyes seem to ignite with fury.

    "Woah! Tahmur- AH!"

Another falls. The elves try to flee, but find themselves trapped. They try to fight you, but it's no use. A sword breaks against you. Armor is damaged beyond repair. The entire cavern floor is soaked in blood, and yet your bloodthirst is still not sated. Finally, it's just you... and the vampire.

"I... I've never seen such savagery! Do even your own allies mean nothing to you pe- Pll..."

You tear the vampire in two. You have no ears to any words they have for you. Even still, you crave more bloodshed. More violence. Perhaps you may destroy the walls of the cavern to show this nameless, disembodied being your strength.

"I had a feeling... I was right in refusing to choose her. Tahmuras Pirekin... you are the last one standing. Your bloodlust and thirst for savagery extends far beyond any who have come before me. You are worthy of my gift. As a descendant of the last bearer of my gift, I offer you something only one other has received; a way to turn your bloodlust into power. I can make you... a true vampire."

    Will you accept this offering?
  • Uhhhhh... this might take a little while...
