@EpicBoss99 The bite gives Taylor a brief moment to escape, but his father immediately tries to grab him again. This time, Taylor dodges, flipping a small table out in front of his father. He falls, and Taylor grabs his device again, pressing one button sharply and holding it to his ear.

"You better not ****ing do it-"
    "89 Shax Street. Floor 5! I'm in-"

A bottle strikes the device out of Taylor's hand, and it breaks into pieces as it strikes the floor. Taylor's father then tosses the table out of the way and follows him into what appears to be the kitchen. Taylor flips a chair out in front of him, but he steps around it, grabbing Taylor again.

"Listen here you little s***. I may of brought you into this world, but I can just as easily take you out of it!"
"You really don't have to do this... and if I were you, I wouldn't."

Taylor's father hits him again. You're trying to cast a spell, but you need to calm down. You've seen a lot, but never infighting like this, and as much as you'd like to interfere directly, it's not worth the risk. Taylor bites again, but this time, his father doesn't let go. He punches him in the mouth, breaking his teeth.

"Le go ov me! I'm waning you!"
"And what are you going to do?"
    "Le me go!"

Taylor's mother has collapsed on the floor, and she's holding her chest. Harry finally stands up, running over to help. Suddenly, an ember begins to form in Taylor's hand.

"I'm giving you one mow chance! Le me go..."

Another strike. You see the ember beginning to turn into a flame, and Taylor's dad finally seems to notice.

"Le me go... or you won' have to wowwy about living here!"
    "Don't you threaten me!"
"I'll do it! I'll ****ing do it!"

Finally, you manage to cast the spell right as a blast of flame leaves Taylor's hands. It scatters, and Taylor's father suddenly drops him, grabbing his chest and falling to the ground with a hard thud. Harry stops in his tracks.

Look, I don't know what any of you are going through, and I have no right to talk about your problems,"you relent, "but fighting each-other won't solve anything. All it will do is lead to more resentment and more fighting."
"I've aways tried to tew him viowence wa'n't the anther," Taylor seconds. "Ih never work. The only fing I coul do ith defen myself."
"C-call an- ambulance dammit!" Taylor's father yells out.

You hear sirens in the distance. You see red and blue flashing lights, and large vehicles approaching in the distance. Taylor takes a moment, healing himself as he rushes into another room. He comes back with a clear bottle filled with small, white, round objects.

    "Here. Take these."

Taylor takes out two of them and attempts to place them in his father's hand. His father is about to slap him, but can't muster the strength. He takes them forcefully, chewing them. Taylor comes over and does the same for his mother.

"I... knew this was going to happen one day," Taylor sighs.

The sirens are right outside now. You hear people walking up to the door, and as they walk through, they are dressed in a wide variety of clothing.

"EMT- oh my god." Though he healed his mouth, there is still bruising all over Taylor. "We've got three! We need two stretchers! What happened here?"
    "My dad... beat me..."
"He bit me, so I don't know what his problem is!"
"I bore witness to the whole thing," Harry announces. He points to Taylor's father. "This man started it. This young man was merely defending himself. I suspect both his mother and father are suffering from cardiac arrest."

As Taylor and Harry describe the scenario, Taylor's parents are taken down to vehicles. People in blueish uniforms with guns and batons also go on board one vehicle with Taylor's father, while Taylor's mother is taken alone to the other.

"Are you sure you don't need to go to the hospital, young man?" Taylor is asked.
"I can heal myself," Taylor says.
    "Very well..."
"I'm sorry I had to come at such a time," Harry apologizes, "but I think that settles it. Verth. Taylor. Once you've secured your belongings, come with me."

You suddenly feel a swell of power inside of you. You are able to planeswalk now. Will you remain here, return to Stitia, or pursue Timothy? If you wait, you will be able to planeswalk at any time.
  • @Tommia I had a feeling it was going to come to this.

Why should I refuse? It's pretty clear that at this point I don't have any more allies. What could I possibly lose?

  • How far away are you?
  • (@Tommia what should I do if I want to figure out which plane Timothy is on? Or would I already know? That will affect the decision I make.)
  • // @EpicBoss99 You could attempt to breach Timothy's spiritual barrier (requires you to complete a difficult challenge), you could try finding him manually (random chance) or you could assume he's still on the same plane he was, and attempt to find it.
  • @EpicBoss99 Assuming you do the challenge, the target is a 15, but due to the difficulty of the challenge, there is a random chance your score will be increased by up to two points. However, if you get below a 13, you will take damage.
  • Due to personal reasons I wish not to publicly disclose, I may not be participating as frequently over the next few days.
  • @TAHMURAS A chime strikes, and the blood in the room begins to pool in the center, forming into the guise of an elder vampire.

    image

"You have gained my favor. Go on, savage warrior, and bring pride to my legacy."

The vampire kisses you, and you feel a surge of power that seems to come from... above? The kiss does not last long, but even after the vampire leaves, the place her lips once were feels like a scar. Your bloodlust continues, but now, it has become detached from your anger, increasing tenfold. You smash the rocks blocking the way out, and as you reach the outside, the crimson moon shining, you roar at the sky.

With the vampire's gift comes a curse; you must sustain your new power with blood. As long as you have a steady supply of fresh blood, you will take 50% less damage. However, a break will cause your powers to detriment. After an extended period of time without blood, you will become irritable, with a random chance of lashing out at anyone nearby.

Also, since you're now a vampire, you can attempt to turn anyone you would kill, though they will likely be loath to cooperate with you.

You feel unstoppable. You search desperately, trying to find something to test your newfound power on, when you come across a necromancer, leading zombified versions of the werecats you killed earlier...

    image

"Well, hello there, dear leonin... care to join your comrades in death?"

The Necromancer sends one of the zombies to attack you. Make a card to deal with a Boneclad Necromancer and at least one 2/2 zombie. The target is 12.

// Thinking about actually going through with that book idea, starting about 6 months before the events of the saga. May have to discuss details if I do, and since I technically need everyone's permission in order to use their characters, I'll need consent.

(Also, details will obviously need edited because copyright)
  • Just shoot me an idea of your book's story. But otherwise I give consent!
  • I very willingly would let you use Ishka in a book, so long as you get her backstory right.
  • edited February 2020
    XD

It's basically going to be in the style of an epic (rather than having any real story), going about the lives of a few individuals and eventually culminating in multiple climaxes. (The final battle against the Six/Khantsievth, etc.)(OwO)

Of course, there's some you haven't met (and may never meet) in the Saga.
  • Couldn't you make it be a book of multiple different stories then?
  • Or multiple books?
  • Maybe. I'll get into the logistics once I start writing it, since for the most part everyone in the book meets up in the end.
  • @EnvyReaper @KorandAngels

Schoren is panicking. Best out of everyone among the group, he knows how dangerous the situation is.

"We need to get Lilith out of here!"
"How are we going to escape?!" Lilith questions.
"We kill them," Lim utters grimly. "Rats are unfit to live among humans. Why are there so many of them?!"
"I'd say this is fairly minor case," Lilith assures her. "I've seen a lot worse."
"Does Stitia... have a rat problem?"
"Depends in what you classify as a problem."
    "Dear god..."

The rats are incredibly hostile, and the weaponry available to Draundr, Schoren, Lilith, and Lim wasn't exactly tailored to deal with them. Sword swings only take out a small number of them. Draundr tries to cast a spell, but just as water escapes a clasped hand, the overwhelming swarm of rats is insignificantly affected. Lim lines the ground with thorns, but it barely slows them down.

    "Oh, God! Please help us-"

Suddenly, from the sky, the group notices an angel descending from above. Ishka.

@EnvyReaper Your challenge remains the same.
@KorandAngels As you descend, you notice the planeswalker you were looking for among the group, but they're surrounded by rats. What will you do?
  • edited February 2020
Ishka remembers her first battle, fending of a swarm of vampire, and how she summoned creatures. Her speciality. And so, drawing upon her magical reserves,
    image
Was created out of mana. The Lammasu nodded to Ishka respectfully and flew down to defeat the rodents.
(So, this is my card representing my action. It should actually only be rare and not mythic. Also, you have several cards that use a similar art style to this guy, if that could ever count for anything.)
  • edited February 2020
    Didn't mean to post. Sorry
  • @KorandAngels @EnvyReaper

"Is that angel hostile?!" Lim cries out.
"Who knows?!" Lilith doesn't know what to do. Whatever the angel has in mind, the look in her eyes suggest she isn't here to watch.

Once again drawing upon arcane power, Ishka summoned a creature unseen by mortal eyes, but apparently, very familiar to her.

    "What is that?!" Lim reacts.
"I- I don't know," Lilith responds. "I've never seen anything like it. I hope it's not hostile..."

A protective aura surrounds the creature as it dives down from the sky, straight towards the swarm of rats. Draundr and co. clear out of the way as it tramples over the rats.

"That angel must be here to help!" Schoren exclaims.

The rats jump up at the lammasu to little effect as it passes by, turning around for another pass. However, as it comes down a second time, a group of rats cling onto it. They nibble away at it, apparently crazed. It tries to shake them away, but it isn't working that well. The lammasu finally rolls over, crushing the rats underneath it, and then it comes back around again. The group below continues fighting off the rats, and the rats' numbers dwindle. With the rats defeated, the lammasu lets out a final cry before disappearing...

@EnvyReaper You have been assisted. @KorandAngels's card completes the challenge.

Lilith is panting. Just a moment ago, the group was being attacked by a flock of angels, and the next, an angel saves them. It's understandable that she's flustered.

    "Th-thank you," Lim says, smiling.
"You- must not be with Conse," Schoren mentions.
"She can't be with the bounty we probably have by now. But I have a question... This isn't exactly a place an angel would be on their own time... what brings you here?"

    Card Score: 11/15

The red feels very out of place on this (the only red thing about it is the Rebel subtype). Honestly, you could probably make this 2WW with a suspend cost of WW and make it nonlegendary.

I got that feedback elsewhere. I think the problem is that I choose the mana cost before I make the card.

"I see, I must ask, are you familiar with Gothael?"
  • @KorandAngels

    "Pity, neither are we."
  • @KorandAngels @EnvyReaper

"I think I know the way to the gate from here..." Lilith says, shuddering. "I never thought I'd go back."
"You've been there before?" Schoren asks.
"Y-yes... I was sent there on a delivery... one I regret accepting. My original expedition crew died there."
    "Yikes..." Lim yelps.
"Anyways, I suppose there's nothing to lose..."

    Resolution - Mastiffa

Mastiffa wriggled around in the chains that bound her and the elf to their chairs in the dark room. Despite her incredible power, she could not break free from the chains.

"What are we going to do?" The elf asks.
"I... don't know." Mastiffa replies. For the first time in her life, Mastiffa felt hopeless.

As a hidden door opens, two viashino step inside, both armed with knives. One of them speaks.

"Don't worry, darlings. Just so we're clear, you'll be loved fondly. But for now, I'd love if you'd cooperate with us..."

No... it couldn't be like this, could it? Mastiffa's sister Norana was still held in that prison, and yet, even if it was as a prisoner, maybe, perhaps, it was worth it to see her sister again-

    "NOOOOO!"

Mastiffa shook the thoughts out of her mind as she finally mustered the strength to break free from the chains, freeing the elf in the process. She came here to free her sister. She wouldn't fail here.

"Feisty, are we? Don't worry, deary oh dear. We can help you with that problem."

A knife came in from the demon's side, and with a surge of otherworldly power, she shattered it. She cast a fire spell, killing one of the viashino, but the other bore down on her. The elf tried to stop them, but they disappeared, reappearing behind her and killing her. Now, it was just Mastiffa...

Mastiffa bolted out of the hidden door, going down the long corridor of what appeared to be an office building. A demon stepped out of a doorway in front of her, but she summoned a hellhound to deal with them while she made her way out of a window. Now, she flew through the city skyline, desperate to find Norana.

"It would seem your search isn't going as well as I thought it would," Timothy says sarcastically, "but an agreement is an agreement. Don't say I never did anything for you!"

Suddenly, a flash of gold light appears below, and Timothy appears, taking the form of a winged demon.

"So... I take it my friends decided to take a nap on you?"
    "They... they're dead."
"Nothing a bit of work can't fix. Anyways, I guess I'll be your tour gui-"

Suddenly, a bolt strikes Mastiffa in the wing. Again, it's tipped with something, but this time, it's poison. The wing is paralyzed as Mastiffa begins to fall to the ground. Timothy catches her, and any further shots shatter on the hide of the demon body he claimed.

A few minutes later, Timothy lands, but sadly, the poison is potent enough to paralyze Mastiffa's entire body. It's already too late to administer an antidote, if he had one. He feels her lifeline, and sadly for her, the poison killed her in mere minutes.

"What people are willing to do for a little love around here..." Timothy drops Mastiffa on the ground, then quickly casts a spell on her to restore her back to life. "C'mon! Wake up, slugabed!"
"I just died thank you. And for future reference, I can resurrect myself-"
    "Yada yada. No thanks?"
    "Thanks."
"Don't mention it! Seriously, it's embarrassing that a demon can't even stand a little poison!"
    "Quiet."
"But that takes away the fun!"

Timothy and Mastiffa fly through the city, joined by the two demonic hyenas and- is that Zarven?

"Look who decided to show up. Zarven... gahto yci Norana..."

...Mastiffa and Timothy flew throw the city, following the owl through what appeared to be the night life of the city. Dive bars. Shows. Brothels.

"So, darling... would you perchance have one of your dear sister's possessions on you?"
"Possessions? I... um... oh! The locket!" The chain had snapped, but she still kept the locket under careful watch. For a moment, she had forgotten about it...
"Perfect! Let's find somewhere safe to settle down and look at it. I'm sure it has at least a trace of her essence."

The two land next to a bar. Timothy tries to open the door, but it's locked, so he kicks it down.

"Nnn! Sir. We're closed." A bearded devil inside comments rather calmly. He's washing a glass,
"Closed? But the door just opened! Besides, what kind of Nasitan bar closes?" TImothy snarks.
"If that's how you want to put it. But a Gil's a Gil. Whatcha want?"
"Do you perchance serve flesh here? Or at least some blood?"
    "Nope."
"Aw, what a sham! I finally come down to Nasita and the first place I hit don't even serve blood! Please, for the love of me tell me you've got some Hellfire!"
    "It's reserved for a costumer."
    "Me, perchance?"
"Sorry. A regular has been waiting for days for us-"
    "Give it here!"
"Could we please hurry up?" Mastiffa pleas.
"A drink first! It's hard to trace essences when you're wound up! Trust me, I think you'd prefer this over some of my other methods, heeheehee!"

The devil shakes his head, and Mastiffa sighs. He grabs two glasses and a dark red bottle.

    "None for me." Mastiffa moans.
"I'll take the bottle!" Timothy exclaims, reaching both hands towards the bartender.
"Ha! I've known none who can stand a whole bottle without losing their guts! But suit yourself." The devil pops open the bottle and sets it and a glass in front of Timothy. He guzzles the whole bottle, smiling, then slams it down on the table, smashing it and getting glass caught in his hand. He doesn't even seem concerned, holding his hand over the glass.
"WHOO! Okay! That's what the system needed!"
"Don't tell me you're going to take me to my sister drunk..."
    Timothy just shrugs.
    "Anyways sir, that'll be 50G-"
The demonic form Timothy has assumed has long, sharp talons, and one of them extends, sealing the devil's lips. "Now now... I consider this bottle thanks. I could of done far worse..."
"Look, I think I've been rather polite. At least pay up so I can fix the door."
"If the door is such a big problem I can just blast the wall! I heard open air barrooms are all the rage- anyways, Mastiffa, the locket..."
"Pay up or you won't be leaving-"

Suddenly, Timothy slams the devil facefirst into a long shard of glass on the table, killing it. Mastiffa is very hesitant to trust Timothy at this point, but she hands the locket over anyways. Timothy pulls all of the glass out of his hand before burning his wounds shut. He then begins to drink his own blood from the glass. He wipes away the blood, then grabs the locket. He analyzes every intricate detail before closing his eyes, and a whitish glow passes over it. He smirks at Mastiffa.

"Ah... quite the sinister little demon, aren't you? Using your sister's most prized possession as a phylactery! Anyways, I was able to find her essence... Zarven. Let's go hunting."

The owl flies through the door, and a glow emanates from Timothy's outstretched hand. The owl glows, its eyes widen, its ears perk up, and it hoots, darting away.

    "Ready to go?"
"I've been ready. Thanks for asking."

Timothy and Mastiffa follow the owl as it makes its way to what seems to be the biggest club in the city. It perches on a sign that says "The Cage". It hoots loudly to get their attention, and they land nearby.

"Ohohoh! I've heard some things about this place!" Timothy approaches a gateway, blocked by a tall demon.
"It's 50G to enter, buddy." The demon crosses his arms, and he actually stands taller than Timothy's stolen demon body. "Pay up."

Timothy transforms into his werehyena form, staring the demon straight into the eyes.

"You will let me in this building."
"Pay the fee, and I will gladly let you into this building."
"Pay the fee, and you will gladly let us into this building."

The demon blinks rapidly, scratching his head. His eyes seem to become glossy, and he hands TImothy a pouch, opening the gates. Timothy snaps, and the pouch disappears.

    "Thank you kindly."
"You're welcome. Hey Larry! He's here for the VIP treatment!"

The demon seems apparently confused as Timothy and Mastiffa enter. He closes the gate behind them, and a group stops, highly questionable as to what just happened.

"Welcome to The Cage... um..." A devil scratches their head as he greets them. "Normally we know everyone who comes in. You must be new."
"Timothy... and this darling here will be coming with me."
"Very well. Let me escort you to the back."
"If a single person touches this young lady I'll touch them with death. Make sure you know that."
    "Of- of course, Timothy."

A curtain closes behind the three as they go into a dark hallway. Just as it closes, a scream is heard. Timothy has the devil pinned against a wall by his shirt.
    "Norana Oklein. Where is she?!"
    "I- I don't know!"
Timothy feels the devil's soul, and realizes he actually doesn't know. However, Timothy does find out who to interrogate next.
"Please tell me you won't treat-"
"I'm not here for your petty thrills!"
Timothy presses hard on the devil, killing them. He then stomps down the hall.
"Come along now, Mastiffa! It's time to dance!"

As TImothy and Mastiffa turn the corner, they are confronted by a group of demons.

"No one's allowed back here without an escort." One of them says, cracking their knuckles.
"You're my escort. Norana Oklein. Now." Timothy points a bloody finger at the demon.
    "What's the passphrase?"
"Blinded by an angel were we, and we knew beauty."

    The demon is shocked.

"How do you know the passphrase?"
"We happen to know her very well..."
    "Affiliation?"
"She's my sister!" Mastiffa cries out. She's had enough, and blasts one of the guards with hellfire. Timothy quickly pries into their essence, and motions for Mastiffa to follow him.

The two carve their way through demons and devils, leaving a trail of blood. After about three minutes of searching, Timothy breaks down a door, and in the room lies Norana, chained ephemerally to the wall. A goblin is in the room with her,

"Hey! You should really knock first!" The goblin squeaks out. Timothy grabs his arm, slinging him into a wall and killing him instantly.
    "M-Mastiffa?" The chained demon mumbles.
    "Norana!" Mastiffa tears up.
"Such an emotional reunion," Timothy mocks as he absorbs the energy from Norana's ephemeral bindings. She falls off the wall, freed. "I kept my promise to you... have I not?"
Mastiffa cries. She's too happy to respond, hugging her sister, so she just nods her head.
    "Thank you..." Norana says sincerely.
"There's no need to thank me. Just know you owe me one." Timothy cracks his neck, then takes a bite out of the goblin. "Now, once I help you escape, I'll be leaving. I have important matters to attend to..."
