Journal #05456 Our expansion is not going as fast as planned, nor as fast as our neighbors. One of our guards reported that the forests out of our territories are being burned to the east. We sent zombies to investigate, but none returned. Journal #05459 I have decided to send Sedir to investigate the burning of the forests. It is coming too close for comfort, even with our defenses. I have also arranged with some local elementals to protect our forests in case the flames cross into our territory. https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/seri-coast-guard-commander Journal # 05465 We will continue to explore to the north and east. More room is needed if we hope to complete the Big One. All of our ships are being sent out, leaving none to patrol the waters of our territory. There is a large landmass to the north of us; perhaps it will be enough. Journal # 05472 Sedir came back, and he wasn't alone. He managed to apprehend one of the creatures that started the fires. It was what appeared to be an animated suit of armor, as there was nothing underneath. Since Mezzewik did such a good job with the jellyfish, I turned it over to him to investigate. Journal # 05478 Mezzewik came through again! Or at least partially. We have managed to duplicate the animation of the armor, but we still have no clue as to what caused it in the first place. Sedir, meanwhile, has gone to see if he can figure out why they are burning down the forest. https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/recreation-1
//All cards are liable to be edited before the judging is final //This marks the beginning of my interaction with @SammySammyson //And no, @KorandAngels , that isn't weird. It is simply the byproduct of you fondly remembering a quality story.
"Looks like the Acreans are doing something." Ezorael and Kendel are scouting the Acrean border, finding some movement some distance into the Acrean territory. "Dalaran seems closer than usual, and bustling with excitement. I haven't seen that many fliers since the Paradise of Birds." "Yes, and I checked with our druids. The land stirs. What do you think?" "I'd say they're preparing for something. Possibly war." "Well? Should we attack?" "No, not yet. If they wish for a truce, attacking won't bring us closer. If they truly want war, we will stand strong. For now, tell Elhark to bring some explorers and start expanding in the north. Taking a shortcut through the south will be much safer." Kendel looks at the rider with a look of confusion. "One of the cartographers will explain. Now, in case of a surprise attack, here's what I want you to do." Ezorael gives Kendel instructions to make the border more prepared in case of an attack. "I will give Myrdin and Taeral these instructions too." "Their forces are on the other isles. Are you sure that's necessary?" "This isle may be the most threatened, but you never know where they'll attack. They do have a flying city, after all."
“This is Syr Meadra reporting to the council for your weekly updates on the 7th Crusade”
"Exploration has been going much better ever since we changed out tactics, under Syr Gars' command the scouts have been able to cover much ground. We will begin to expand further eastward hoping to find more useful tools and ways to develop our knowledge. Our plan for now is to avoid confrontation with the other colonizers. How ever Syr Edgar plans on sending some of our Songbirds in order to collect information on them."
How rude and inconsiderate of you to send zombies to investigate! Now Flair has to deal with the smell of burning flesh (just to be clear because aN xiE TY, I'm just joking; I am in no way mad).
@IzItTru, your Scouting Party is not properly clickable, it just sends me back to the title page... that being said, its name reference in the text is not Scouting Party but Endorsan Scout.
The acrean empire terramorphs all the territory they come in contact with, and use the land itself to fight off any opposing forces, they begin to spread their influence in all land they touch. Their magic beggining to take over land that the Eldraken had claimed.
Ariad: Miss how our expansion is progressing conflict with the Eldrakken will be imminent, what shall we do? Anthea: Prepare for conflict, we came here to take over the land completely, our purpose is unchanged. Ariad: Understood. Who shall be in charge of dealing with the Eldrakken? Anthea: Appoint Soljay to it, he'll make sure our foot soldiers will attack unafected by the changing land. And tell him our purpose is complete domination. Ariad: Understood.
The Eldrakken retaliate, steering clear of the swinging attacks of the land whilst scorching the intruders. The firedrakes are quick enough to weave through the battlefield untouched. Withdraw or suffer the consequences!
Just need to find art, so I should be all set. I'll be fairly close to the 24 hour mark from your last update, but I should get 'em in before then if the roads aren't bad because of the storm. But regardless, it'll be pretty close ayeee
(My apologies for the low quality of these entries. I'll be able to update them in a few hours, but currently am at a Friend's House(tm) and did not plan on it before, so I'm rolling with what I have access to.)
(Edit: Deliver Unto Flame is the entry card.)
To expand, the Knights will use a tool that they have learned from the Phoenix that now works alongside them. They plan to rain down fire and hatred on their adversaries to whatever degree they can and will redirect the flames that ravage the lands of Mystik as needed. Of course, a little diplomacy may be necessary to take over some territory, so that isn't entirely out the picture.
For the most part, this is an attack on the faction who sent abominations to scout them out. They are far above the undead. They are not undead. They are not dead. They are not alive. They simply are.
And, in spirit of CV, it is time to set fire to something...again. What, you ask? The corpses, of course. How dare they send rotting beings to investigate. Have they no courtesy? The smell is not going to leave the Knights' land for at least a week.
The acreans will not falter, they've fought flying armies before and have come victorius. The army of clay climbs as high as it can, attacking any enemies they can cling to, and the landmages protect the others while shooting down as many drakes as they can.
Soljay: Ready the weathermages for attack! Spread them out and have landmages protect them! We'll reduce calsualties on our side and take out as many as possible. Soldier: Yes sir!
Soljay: The fighting is going well, prepare a group of landmages and protect them, we'll take out as many as we can in one fell swoop!
The bulk of the dragons escape the storm, while their riders fire arrows into the Acrean formation, constantly shifting as to not get caught by an attack from the ground or get blocked by a wall of stone.
What's a handful of clay against dragon scales? The faster dragons and firedrakes lower their altitude to stay out of the storm, while staying high enough to get a fair warning from ground attacks, whilst continuing in guerilla form. Every now and then, they shake the clay off their backs to lighten the load.
Made a minor adjustment. I forgot to specify which card I entered to expand with. That is, of course, my spin on Deliver Unto Evil, but I felt it should be noted. Huzzah!
Zombies=tokens. Tokens don't go to the graveyard... So the only card that would be in a graveyard is probably that one creature I destroyed to copy. 1 damage. Ouch. Meanwhile, the bill for damages is coming due...
I didn't click the link to the card, so I wasn't aware they were tokens. Eh, oh well. Still burning the creatures in the graveyards. Maybe the nontoken ones in graveyards get burnt first and then that damage is dealt to the tokens ;p
I don't have any dead tho… Legit I think that the one dude I destroyed was the one one who died. Also, that card is really overpowered. I'd include it in any burn or aggro deck because it gets rid of graveyard recursion from the other deck, makes it valuable for you to have creatures die, and can be a 20 to the face really fast. It definitely shouldn't be an uncommon too.
We have judginged, and here is what we have ended up with. We have two wars, @Stryk3r versus @Xero0 and @SammySammyson versus @DrakeGladis. And while it is actually pretty close, the conflict is so far being won by the Dragons and by the Knights. But it isn't even nearly decided, so don't be tempted to sue for peace yet.
So for next wednesday, please make a card depicting your nation getting prepped for all out war, as well as actually inform us about where your expansion will be geared towards.
“Millions cheer the warrior spilling blood across the ring while the one who stands for peace is ridiculed and shamed. Must hearts forever suffer from ignorance and greed? Can sword and spear heal our souls or set our spirits free?
We can accept each other and be together without giving up our differences. It’s useless – even foolish – to reduce us to a common figure.
There is nothing sane, merciful, heroic, devout, redemptive, wise, holy, loving, peaceful, joyous, righteous, gracious, remotely spiritual, or worthy of praise where mass murder is concerned. We have lived long enough to know that by now and to understand that nonviolent conflict resolution informed by mutual compassion is the far better option.
There is no envy, jealousy, or hatred between the different colors of the rainbow. And no fear either. Because each one exists to make the others’ love more beautiful."
As for further expansion, the Zealots will do what they can to finish off their current island, and then explore out in all directions...in the most peaceful manner possible.
While I like your entry a lot, I am afraid @IzItTru is right. I doubt that you meant for this to gain you infinite life (correct me if I am wrong), so I would encourage you to correct that.
Otherwise, you will likely gain a lot of points for the philosophical thesis.

But there are other problems.
Aside from the jellied jam, @Stryk3r @Xero0 @SammySammyson @DrakeGladis and @Daedalus_The_All_Father all have to divide up the last few islands in the western hemisphere,
and while @spookoops @ThatOneCat and @IzItTru have some more breathing room, that isn't going to last forever. So now what we will see (probably) is a BLOODY RESOURCE WAR!
So for next wednesday, please make a card depicting your nation getting prepped for all out war, as well as actually inform us about where your expansion will be geared towards.
Happy smithing!
