@Stryk3r The Lost (Exiled) are peaceful but we honor our promises and protect our own. We had promised aid to the Banned Ones so it was given. We hold nothing back when it comes to upholding our promises so we will go to extreme measures to uphold them if necessary.
Journal # 05493 Sedir has reported back. They don't have a cause, they just want to watch the world burn. That is not acceptable to The Banned. We have come here to live, and to work on our projects without the forced morality of others. If there is no world left, then what? This threat must be stopped. We are grateful to the Lost for having sent some of their special forces to help us in the war that is to come, and we will be sure to make full use of them. I must confer about our strategy. Journal # 05497 We have stopped expanding northward to focus all of our energy on destroying these abominations that would raze a world for fun. And when the entire focus of a country of elite mages is focused on getting something done, it will happen. https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/proficient-pyromancer Journal # 05506 Working with most of the faction leaders, we have decided who is actually going to come with us on the invasion. Along with Meret and his men, we have our zombie hoards and thousands of mages pressing into the Hollow Knights. And once we have cleared these scourges from the plane itself, we hope to take their land for ourselves. If this succeeds, we will have enough space for the Big One. We shall focus on the middle and bottom islands first; the top one can wait for now. However, we shall not return until we have exterminated all of them. https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/onward-march Journal # 05511 Um. Hi. Mezziwik here. Pederan told me to keep this journal active. He went out with the army, but told us to be on the defensive. Even if these Hollow Knights have no body or soul, they are still intelligent, and they might think to strike at us hoping to catch us off guard while we attempt to eradicate their menace. Anyway, I'm organizing a home guard made out of our remaining mages. No-one should attempt to mess with us though, as I think everyone is too busy elsewhere. Nevertheless... https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/return-fire-5 //Yep, an all out attack. We aren't going to wait around; our defenses are well in place. Besides, this is fun. //Also, we do have a gift for the Lost if we are successful. Currently, I'm fine tuning the concept...
@DrakeGladis And I have more support on the way, just need to finish the adjustments on the, admittedly, overpowered card I am currently making. I think you will enjoy more support, given what Fennah is capable of.
*Lore Card* Fennah has decided she doesn't want to just sit around so she has joined the fight. As a time God, she naturally meshes well with Meret on the battlefield and together they present quite the problem for those opposing them. While their exact abilities don't feed into each other, trying to fight both at the same time proves to be a challenge few could overcome. Especially when time itself is your enemy.
First they send Zombies to flood the world with the smell of burning flesh, then they dare insult our culture? Flair's fire burns brighter and larger than ever. His hatred radiated off of him for miles, and any Knights who would even potentially get in his way make sure to avoid him.
It is time to truly begin expanding and to push out the Banned Ones. Mystik is rightfully that of the Knights. It is our birthright. Each plane should fall and then be rebuilt in the seething image of Flair and his divine will.
Our adversaries likely believe that our ideology and methods are wasteful; that we raze the land for the sake of destruction. We raze the land to bring to it glory. Ashen, barren glory in the image of Flair. We recreate it as we see fit, in the image of Flair. Perhaps one day they will see the beauty of what we do, just as that of the Eldrazi and the Phyrexians, who will one day bow down to us.
Soljay: The Eldrakkens are fools to underestimate our armies. We've wittled down their forces enough, it's time to bring the end of this battle. Bring Emala. Soldier: Yes sir!
The Sky begins to shine red from the acrean side, as angelic figures cobered in armor and cloth dive into the battlefield, flaming swords and spears at hand, the archons have come, all masked but for their leader, an angel that once served the gods of it's plane, the one that helped take them down.
The archons dove into the battlefield, their swords and spears slicing the dragons' scales flesh and bone, melting their bodies and burning their souls, those that tried to fight back would be attacked by the landmages and weathermages below, those that tried to evade would be overwelmed by the clay soldiers that would attack their eyes and other weakpoints or gather and fuse into bigger golems to take down the dragon, and those that tried to take our the clay soldiers would be struck down by the flaming sword of an archon.
Soljay: It is done, we've depleted their resources enough, even if reinforcements come to their aid it's unlikelly their forces will survive. Have the archons on the backlines prepare an attack, we'll burn them all to their doom, and send assasins trough the transformed land, with the chaos in the sky they wont see them coming, they probably havent even noticed that the raised land allows for tunnels. If we take out both their main forces and their commander this battle is ensured. Soldier: Yes sir!
(I'll make the card for the resources and preparation for war part in a sec)
The acrean empire has a natural advantage when it comes to resource gathering, they can boost and control the land itself, making it bear the sweeters of fruits or turning wholely unfertile for their enemies.
But even then the resource distribution requires manpower and coordination, for Dalaran Anthea makes a great ruler, but the contributions of her closest advisor are undeniable in this regards.
Ariad is one of the few soul mages in the Acrean empire, and the most notable in all of Dalaran, a magical tradition completely separate from that of landmages and it's subtypes such as weathermages. Yet her greatest achievements are those of helping run the great flying city.
*YOU HAVE SHOWN HARD WORK, BUT SOMEONE HAS TO BE ELIMINATED*
The voice plays a minor chord in your brain. But for a certain empire, that chord is louder and more dissonant than all others.
@DrakeGladis... We must thank you. You essentially jump-started this season's story, and we were very generous with their lore points, but then the other people started pumping out lore like machines, and their cards were getting shinier and shinier, in the end, there is no more space for our undead. Under the pressures of the Empire of Flair bearing down on you, you must step away from this plane. Perhaps your Banned Mages could seek morbid solitude elsewhere. Thank you for the great times, but it is time to round up the ghouls, shrivel them with NecroSalt, pack them in your favorite handbag made of ghost souls and HEAD HOME!
Honestly, well done for this challenge. I haven't seen that level of neck-and-neck competition and drama for a hot second now. And what's more, both wars seemed to have REVERSED in results! @Xero0 gave a fierce response to @Stryk3r's attacks, and for now they HOLD THE ADVANTAGE!
Meanwhile, while the Banned Ones left, their effort combined with @Daedalus_The_All_Father's has PUSHED FLAIR BACK!
Then again, you see how fragile advantage here is, so NEITHER SIDE GIVE UP YET!
Meanwhile, thing heat up in the east. @ThatOneCat and @IzItTru are happily stewing in their prosperous archipelago, while @spookoops must decide whether to head east or west next. Please message me with your decision - IT IS IMPORTANT.
And among all this, FAE!
Yes, first it was Jellies, now mischievous sprites pervade the land! You find them suddenly in you orchards, on your meadows, in your ground, all through your air! Unlike the jellyfish, however, these pixies don't appear to mean you harm. Of course, they could just be better actors than floating burning marmalade...
What are these wanderers of the night sky? Unseelie from Lorwyn the Feywild? Manifestations of emotion? Contingents of @kandra127's faction from Krystel? wHo kNoWs?
In addition to continuing the conflicts and struggles of your weekly COLONISERS life, you must also decide to Ignore, Befriend or Attack the fae, shown by a card. Layers upon layers of choice will have to be made for next Wednesday. Good luck! You will need it.
Journal Entry #0 It was not enough. The defenses-all of my research-even a goddess herself- and it was not enough. Our walls fell. Our enchantements crumbled. I scrawl this in the ruins of my house, trapped inside by the Hollow Knights. Somehow, they knew things they couldn't. Somehow, they read this journal. I heard him, their leader, the one they call Flare, torturing some of our own over what we wrote. It matters not what they said- their actions prove them abominations worse than anything I've ever created. I hope the Lost can stop them, but as for us, well, I'm the last. I'll go down fighting; there isn't any way to escape. -Mezziwik //Thank you @HeroKP for a good run. I will certainly be back for #6, where I hope to make a better showing. I did my best to research all of my cards thoroughly to make sure they were balanced and not just copies, so would you mind PMing me to tell me what I did wrong? @SammySammyson : Congrats on the win. I honestly thought I had it, but the judges ruled elsewise. GG, my man. GG. @Daedalus_The_All_Father : I appreciate the assist. I hope you won't be needing the goddess back, nor Meret. And I'm sorry that I didn't give you the gift, as it was a really cool concept I think. -Mezziwik
@HeroKP, oddly enough my Zealots are the only faction without any shared territories. Would we have ever seen any of the other factions during our exploration? Or, could we be thinking that we are the only settlers?
It is unfortunate that the Banned Ones could not win but we must move forward. Since our ally is no longer in the picture, we no longer have any ill will towards the other nations. Granted, we didn't have any in the first place. As for the Fae, we have hopes to befriend them. Luckily, we can call upon our Fae to act as liaisons of sorts. *Lore Cards* Iya will play an especially important role since Saint hold a certain sway over the hearts and minds of others.
P.S. All three of these cards were made when I was originally making the Lost and before I actually new about legendary borders and stuff. I will upload my entry later.
"The very least we can live with is an agreement that does not reduce us to slaves of imposition, but makes us partners of consent. Yes, we are compelled to make peace, we submit to force majeure, but leave us at least a piece of clothing to cover our nudity. This is the motivation behind every formula of diplomatic contrivance that is sometimes described as face-saving, and wise indeed is the victor who knows that, in order to shield his own ass from the elements, he must not denude his opponents."
A burnt and battered firedrake speeds toward Ezorael and Nekrekkar in the main Eldrakken settlement. "Eirlun?" Ezorael asks, suprised by this sudden appearance. "What went wrong? I'll send for a physician right away." Nonsense, the dragon replies. I'm fine. And the flank is going well. At this rate, they'll be at Dalaran before the bulk of the defenders can defend effectively.
"Due to the delay, I thought the attack wasn't as sucessful as I thought." Elhark wanted to wait for something from the Sovereignty. While smaller in number, the vessels are shooting up about the same amount of Acreans as the firedrakes. "Then what went wrong?" The Acreans are pushing on the main battlefield. Their main force is beating back our forces. Most of the dragons are either dead or fleeing. Only the firedrakes are holding up at this point, but even then, the numbers are being whittled down. "How are the Sovereign battlers holding up?" Their longer-range weaponry seems to be outranging the Acrean terraformers and are accurate enough to slow the assault.
"Good. More battlers will be sent in soon to slow their progress. Anything else to report?" The Acreans are doing something with the land. Caves or something. "Nekrekkar, get the civilians ready to evac immediately. I have a hunch that they're tunnelling here. " Nekrekkar flies off to warn the civilians. "The Acreans are here!" Eirlun tenses. Already?! "That's just one of the fey. They're crazy about pranks. But the young ones seem to interact well with them, and their tricks are never actually harmful, so we let them stay. Hey Nova, not funny!" (Entry)
The minuscule figure darts from the bush, doubled over in laughter. "You have to admit that was a good one." "Not really. The one with the pies, however," Ezorael replies with a wry grin. What was the pie prank? "I'll tell you later. For now, you must see a physician."
@spookoops Up to you actually. Your ships probably already saw someone else, but if you want to make it so you were isolated up to this point, you can.
Also, @spookoops and @Xero0, please watch your language. Kids visit the website frequently.
@HeroKP@SammySammyson I was just assisting my ally. I have no intentions on continuing the conflict. If you decide to keep it up then I will defend myself but I see no reason to continue.
The presence of the Fae will likely deter Flair from striking...at least for now. His anger with your people is now present, however he does know how to prioritize...sort of.
