    @Bowler218 That's up to you, I guess.

    You put the necklace on. A sharp ringing occurs in your ears, and then you hear a deep, foreboding voice:

    "Who are you, bearer? I am Auros of the Dark Seas."

    What do you do?

    1) Introduce yourself (Mentally, of course.) (+1 VP)
    2) Cuss the unknown voice out. (+1 HP)
  • I duck out into a back alley real quick
    "Jakob, captain of the High Flyer."
  • "Hello, Jakob. It seems to me you have found my hidden trove. Was it hard to find? Did you almost die by the numerous traps?"
  • "No, not really. When I'm around Elaine, my first mate, I get closer to death than some ash getting blown in my face"

    "Oh. It seems to me you found the back door. Oh well."

    There is some noise in the background. It sounds like waves. As you listen closer, you can hear swishing, and occasionally something creaking.

    @Bowler218

  • First mate...

  • I keep listening
  • There is more swishing. the creaking sounds like wood.
  • Do I recognize it?
  • @Bowler218

    Of course! The creaking sounds like the creaking on any ship. The swishing, however, was more cryptic to you.

    "Say, you have my compass with you?"
  • "Yes...?"
  • "Great! The compass points north. The first ring points to me. The second..." He trails off.
  • "Points where?"

    "That doesn't matter now. Come and find me. Bring any one you want."

    (@LordTachanka123 , @DrakeGladis )
  • I grab Elaine, "how long until the High Flyer can be fixed?"

    (She is your character. You decide. I control everything but your characters. @Bowler218 .)
  • Ok
    "Probably a day or so. I wasn't able to get them all in before you sent the signal."
    "Then start fixing it!"

    @Bowler218
    @DrakeGladis

    (Because i am impatient, sorry.)
  • What do we do?
  • Well, by this time the ship should be fixed.

    What do you do?

    1) Go in the direction of the first ring (To Auros)
    2) Go in the direction of the second ring (To ???)

    @Bowler218

    And I'm only taking my crew
  • Jeez.  I dissappear for such a short time and already this has exploded.  In some cases, literally.
    Cap'ns:

    So yeah.  Werepirates.
    Need I say more?
    First mate:

    Really hard to do this one well.  Still, I think it is balanced.
    Ship:

    Ha.  Probably should have made it transform, but that would be really hard.  It has one of those rams in the front, right below the waterline.
    Anyway.

    Backstory...

    *off in a tavern somewhere, a cloaked man sits, drinking with other strangers.  Everyone is laughing and sharing tall tales of their past, getting drunk on the barkeeps fine ale.  When the story flagon gets passed to the man in the cloak, he moves to pass it on, but his company insists on his participation.*

    "Have ye heard th' tale o' th' Black Moon? Nay?  Well, I used to run with Cap'n Fenrir and Elena, and I witnessed th' entire thing go down."

    "'Twas obviously a verry stormy night when we's startin' our tale.  The bilges of the ship were floodin from some leak, we knew not where from, and we had lost 'alf our mizzen in a prior squall.  Th' crew was tired out, but land was only a day and a 'alf away, and there we could beach our ship an' find th' leak.  We wasn't takin' on too much water, mind ye' but we had to keep a steady bail goin'.  Anyhows, th' lookout spotted a closer island, one not on th' cap'ns charts, and we changed to go there instead."

    "Well, when we arrived, 'twas quite obvious why th' thing was uncharted.  No-one knew 'bout this island, cuz all who did had wrecked themselves on the reefs!  Th' helmsman somehow managed it, but I would ne'er risk it again, not for the chalice itself.  Anyhows, we landed there and sent a party inward to forage fer a fresh stream or summat of the sort, onlys for them to come runnin' back out talkin' 'bout a temple full o' gold.  Obviously, that brought the entire ship to it, and we went in, plunderin' it for everything.  One o' the biggest pieces was a giant black opal, larger round than the ships wheel.  Always fond of th' jewls, I was."

    *he fingers the ruby clasp of his cloak*

    "So's we gets back to the ship, but summat was wrong.  While we had been gone, the leak had worsn'd and we was now stranded.  Th' only shelter on the island was the temple, and we hadn't found a stream."
    It took us a couple of weeks, and we eventually had built a new boat from the littered wrecks, but it weren't very good.  We sailed back to th' normal island, and ended up having to trade the majority of the treasure for a good new ship.  And it were good.  The Ristef Hullbreaker, we called her, and fer good reason too.  She were well endowed, ye might be sayin', with a big ol spike under her waterline.  Cap'ns refused to part with th' opal however, instead breaking it so each crewmember got 'is or 'er share.

    Well, it turned out that that be a big mistake.  Th' ship was out at sea bout a week later, and one night we had been becalmed.  That night was the first time someone turned, as we found out by the fact that the crow's nest had claw marks."

    *the cloaked man quaffs the last of the ale in the flagon, then passes it to the barkeep for a refill.  Most of the rest of the bar had fallen silent at this point, listening to the tale being told*

    "At first, we thought that this was some sort of witchy-voodoo, and so we went to visit a spellbreaker to fix th' man.  Th' breaker said that he couldn't do anythin tho, saying that we had brought this upon ourselves from some o' the old gods by smashing the jewl."

    *A collective shudder passes throughout the tavern at the mentioning of the old gods, and the more superstitious among the folk there gathered furtively warded off the bad luck that hearing mention of them brought upon them*

    "Later that night, we went on to pillage the town.  We were out of control.  The entire crew turned feral. "

    "The cap'ns were not pleased come morning.  They insisted on finding a way to control the transformations, and we eventually did.  However, none of us have ever been able to lift the spell, and every full moon, whether we like it or not, we are forced to assume the shape of a wolf."

    *The mood had been entirely killed by this story, and sensing this, the stranger stood up, paid his dues, and walked out, leaving a silent tavern behind him.*

  • Jasca decides to go to a TAVERN.
  • What will you do at the tavern?
  • @Bowler218

    "Are you prepared to come to me? I really want to see other- I really want to see you."
  • What do you do?

    1) Go in the direction of the first ring (To Auros)
    2) Go in the direction of the second ring (To ???)
