For my card, I continued the trend of defining 4-colored "guilds" by what color it's missing. I also decided to explore new identities for these guilds through careful analysis of the color pie.
For example, I chose to make a Dune-Brood commander defined by its lack of Blue's precision and methodical processes. White emphasizes the importance of taking action in the name of achieving higher goals. Black emphasizes the importance of persistently working towards your own success. Red emphasizes the importance of acting on your impulses, for action is essential to your well-being. And Green emphasizes the importance of realizing your needs and doing what you are destined to do.
While Blue concedes that action is important, it requires that it must be carefully mandated and controlled.
"This means that individuals need to be careful and deliberate in all their decision making. It is better to think one's options out carefully and select correctly than to rush to a decision."
"Blue is methodical and exact. Because when one sets out to become the best individual they can be, one doesn't have the luxury of making mistakes."
"You have to be open to possibilities, but also not too hasty in action."
Non-White Aspect of White: Society Card's theme: Wilderness
Also, I misunderstood the rules and accidentally created a whole cycle of tetracoloured commanders so here are the remaining four, just for show xD
Non-Blue — Aspect of Blue: Logic — Card's theme: Surprise Non-Black — Aspect of Black: Loneliness — Card's theme: Friends Non-Red — Aspect of Red: Freedom — Card's theme: Constraints Non-Green — Aspect of Green: Strength — Card's theme: Weakness
Gawar was inspired by Morophon, the Boundless. I really liked the version of the deck where you mixed a lot of different tribal lords together and Morophon collected all the bonuses. So I looked to Swirl of Mists and New Blood to create a new template that would transform all tribal lords into non-Human lords xD
What this does is that any card that says that "whatever creature type" gets a bonus now gives that bonus to all non-Human creatures which allows some crazy combo potential. For instance, Bonescythe Sliver would say "Non-Human creatures you control have double strike", Crested Sunmare woud say "Other non-Humans you control have indestructible" and Risen Reef would trigger whenever a non-Human creature enters the battlefield under your control.
White, the color of order, is absent in this card, making its focus on CHAOS. This card will play out differently every single time both due to top of the library variability and the complex decision making of assigning the exiled cards to each mode.
Okay, here's my actual entry: https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/yki-and-bo-sowers-of-chaos White as a color is all about order and restrictions. -How many spells you can cast -How many cards you can draw -When you can cast your spells So, in order to demonstrate its absence, we have Yki and Bo, the darnedest duo you ever did see. Determines to cause chaos by any means possible. Cast a spell? congrats you get 5 spells, AND a card! But they aren't satisfied, so then you have to discard your hand (OBVIOUSLY if you didn't cast it you didn't need it) and then draw even more cards! and then you sacrifice permanents so things don't get too out of hand.
Ahem: This card explains itself. Blue may represent control and logic over emotion, and the personality of La'ayiv is that of "Do what is right, whatever others might think." La'ayiv's abilities is utter mastery over the Parallel of all planes, and all multiverses, and all multiverses of multiverses, and every time and place within any location within itself. Thus, la'ayiv's abilities are about Phasing and Exiling. He is nearly omnipotent, and hates those who place logic above good.
