  • @joemamajoe Hey, can I just ask after vaguely what time our entries have got to be done by on the 10th? My ideas are pretty much at the stage of finishing touches and wishing the character limit didn't exist, but it'd be nice to hear when the deadline'll want me dead.
  • @MemoryHead, I don't know, but sometime after noon, eastern daylight time.

Alright, here we go. I've decided to go for something stupid and experimental, largely because I've apparently never made a Saga on Cardsmith before, and because if I fall then I intend to do it with style. There's a brief note in Teklar's comment section relating to a wording error on the card. Anyway, enough chat. Please welcome to the stage:

  • @joemamajoe I will submit within the next 1 and a half hours.
  • My entry will be ready in around 30 minutes! Thanks for waiting for me! I've been super busy this week.
  • Here is my (risky) entry!

I wanted to make a unique vertical cycle which did two things:
    - I wanted it to tell a little story
    - I wanted the color of the cycle to change from the beginning to the end.

Each card has to do with "the Darkness" flavorfully/namewise and mechanical wise, all of them exile a creature card from your graveyard for an effect.

The story within the cards are meant to follow a story of a girl named "Vera" who starts out ignoring/resisting the darkness, but eventually falls to it in the end. I also wanted to slowly de-humanize the character to show more and more corruption towards the end in the art.

Also, a quick not about the hybrid card:
Some people might say that it isn't fitting for hybrid, but I believe it's okay because white can do reanimation in a less efficient way than black, and sacrificing a creature as an additional cost for spells in used in white a lot too. The card is black because it deals with sacrifice and reanimation- both of which are black effects.

I hope you enjoy this entry!

Good luck @MemoryHead and @fire12 ! Both of you made amazing cards for this round.

    Well played @MemoryHead !

It seems every time I go up against you in a tournament like this, I lose . I have no shame in losing to such a brilliant cardsmith though!

Good job to all the other contestants too!

@joemamajoe Thanks for bringing me back into this round! Also, could you PM me feedback on my entries? Thanks for such a wonderful contest!
  • @shadow123, you're entries were perfect. MemoryHead's were just a little, little, little bit better. Just a little bit.
  • Hey, victory! That's nice. Congrats to everyone else who reached the podium (and everyone who got through the initial thing as well), and thank you @joemamajoe for holding the contest. I'll take my favorites on anything of mine that you think looks good.

@shadow123 I have no idea why that keeps happening. I'm sorry. If I've got a moment at some point, I'll try to throw your entries some feedback since you're looking for it. I'll probably do it by PMs in order to avoid cluttering the thread or whatever.

@MemoryHead My time will come just you wait.

In all seriousness, you’re a really good Cardsmith, and I really don’t feel bad losing to you because of that. Feedback would be awesome if you’ve got time! I’m always looking to improve my cards!
