Some of my cards removed - not sure why

I'm new here, so sorry if this isn't the right forum for this. I had a couple cards recently removed, but I'm not sure why. From what I could tell I wasn't violating the terms of service.

The images were from Google Image Search (pictures of pills) but I gave credit in the artist line. Could it have been the images anyway?

Could it have been because of my account theme? (Awful cards that super nerdy pharmacist Magic players might find humorous). I did categorize them as "Humor" so I'm not sure where I went wrong.

Any advice on how to avoid this in the future would be appreciated. I'm in the dark, since I didn't receive any communication from the site that my cards were being removed.

  • That's really weird. That shouldn't happen; maybe there's some admin abuse, or it might be as innocent as server failure

I bet it's because it was a mild depiction of drugs you're not even allowed to show up baby marijuana plant.I made the card Senzu bean plant 3 times before i figured it out....try drawing a pill...that should get by.
  • Depictions of drugs, alcohol, nudity & things like that are TOS Violations. For those of us who want to make cards like that, as an example someone recently wanted to make a drinking game, then MTGCardsmith offers the option to download the card without publishing... so you can still make the card and share the images with your friends... you just can't publish it and expect it will survive.
  • @Corwinnn do you know who decided what qualifies as a violation?

The website humans say so...or any complaints... if anyone finds it, post a list of violations for this website.
  • @TheClayKnight - I would say Chase is prolly right. The majority of the cardmakers on this site are 15 or under, and it's meant to be something that parents feel safe about letting their kids participate in. But I think they also want you to be able to make whatever card you want.... so you get the option to publish a card that fits in the Terms Of Service, or download those cards that don't.
  • Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I'm guessing it must have been the pictures of the pills. One of my cards was depicting a pharmaceutical subsidy program called 340B, and I couldn't figure out what the problem was. The picture I used was of pills arranged in the shape of $, so I can see why that wouldn't fly.
  • I'm glad we could be of some assistance!
