  • You will notice that I have now reached the required minimum for entries! Commander, Land, Instant, and Sorcery. They can be found in my folder referenced in a previous comment.
  • @leo5873 , gotcha (and np). No need to re-post about card name changes, since you did well to place it in the new set. We will see it. ;)

@Faiths_Guide , similarly, we try to check day to day, any changes a person has made to their set (incl. the addition of new cards), so there's no urgency to notify us here.

But thanks guys - it's thoughtful.

I've decided to make a new set. I bore easily, and my last one was controversial. I'll keep you posted.
  • @Beeswax Ouch, really? We alrdy have so much judging to do, haha :P

I thought yours was quite interesting, you sure you don't want to keep it?
  • @Grimshac
Power level concerns. I tried to balance out the obvious power with the uncertainty of top-decking, but it's just too easy to manipulate what's on top of deck. The new one has a lot of the same themes, though.
  • @Jase9112 , Please remember to leave small comments on each of your cards so that we can more easily reach you to talk about your cards. (That way you will get notified if / as we leave comments - so it's convenient for everyone.)

The Dolmen of Yig, as with so many magical sites, has been used for centuries by the Izzet to attempt spells beyond their limits. Occupying a weak point in the planes, it pulls mana from these other realities to fuel its user's attempts, but such mana is unstable at best and downright dangerous at worst. Creatures from the Blind Eternities are also drawn to the Dolmen, given flesh and purpose by the spells which roar through it.

P.S. I'm sorry for resubmitting my set. I liked the old one (and I'm keeping the cards), but they relied on the uncertainty of deck order to justify their outsize power levels, and there are just too many ways to game that. I kept the land-commander theme and the randomness, but changed it to UR coin flips from G topdecking.

P.P.S. The cards involve a LOT of math-hammer in the comments; if you have any questions about that or would like additional math hammered out, just say.

P.P.P.S. Chance Encounter isn't a thing in the universe where these cards are published.

Here's my entry, also first contest entering so this should be fun.

Based on commander Sael, and the concept of mono black swarm. Sael is supposed to be an undead soul warden that captures the restless souls of the meek to battle with him even after their death. Supposedly he would get stronger with each tool he is in control of.
  • After 6 iterations, I settled on a commander I like! Now to make some support cards

    It's fixed ;D
  • should be fixed

@Superman101 , we can't tell which is your actual commander. They can't both be in your set because one is White-Red, and the other is Green-Red , unless one (or the other) had the other color somewhere in its text-box. Ex: White-Red legend has {g} mana symbol in text-box, or Green-Red legend has {w} mana symbol somewhere in text-box. Unless you were planning on removing the W-R guy altogether?

(*Edit - sorry, I just noticed your comment. I guess that's a folder for all of your circuit entries... can you create a new set just for the EDH challenge please? It would make it easier to evaluate as a whole.)

@fabiocbinbutter , can't wait to see it. You can link a set with a single card in it, and simply add support cards to the set as you create them. We will see them. ;)

@Creeper333_ , remember to leave a small comment under each card, so that you get notified when we communicate / leave comments. Makes things easier

(I wonder if a notification gets sent out when you edit and add a new "@" tag...)
  • Here's what I've got so far. I'm not super thrilled with all of the art, but I do limit myself to public domain and copyleft art, so that's that. Still planning on making a common instant, an uncommon enchantment, and a narrative (though I am trying to make the cards stand on their own without the need to explicitly tell the narrative)

This is my set... Made for a monocolor White angel commander set.
Btw Sarianna is my commander of choice.
  • Sound's like fun
  • @Cryptonight
Thanks for the suggestions! Re-did the cards mostly along the lines you suggested!

@Jase9112 , you're welcome. Glad to see they all look fixed up. I'll let you know if I spot anything else. ;)
  • Thanks @star , I left comments under 4 of your cards (but the other 2 can use fixes too ;).
  • @star

Sorry, your entries have disqualified due to the art rule. The only card we can currently accept is "Life and Death".

    @Creeper333_

    "Mind Blown" needs some fixing

    @Superman101

I need you to re-consider this rule: - MAKE ONLY NEW CARDS! Every card submitted must be made for the purpose of this contest, to show off your innovative cardsmithing skills!

I can see how it could be interpreted as "this contest" aka "all circuit contests", but we're talking this contest specifically - I do believe 2 or 3 of those cards you posted are not eligible?
  • edited March 2016
@Grimshac , I believe Superman101's linked set contains *all* of his "circuit contest" cards. Kelsh is the only entry for *this* contest so far. I asked he create a new set exclusively for this contest, to make things easier.
