Vanilla - The finest of the flavors!
Vanilla is the term for creatures with no abilities at all. For this contest, create such a creature that would be suitable for use in multiple sets, a factor known as reprintability. This sort of design is harder than it seems! The flavor needs to be carried entirely through the name, flavor text, creature type, and power/toughness. These are almost always common, but if you can find a good reason for a higher rarity, show us! You may submit up to 5 cards. 1st place gets 5 favorites, 2nd place gets 3 favorites, and 3rd and 4th place each get 2 favorites. The contest ends Sunday April 3rd.

It may be a bit strong for a common, but green gets the best vanillas. Anyway, it depends on the meta, as always.

@Corwinnn Gruul Aristocrat and Dimir Aristocrat are both good cards. They are really funny, especially in conjunction. The only demerit for this contest is being set in the guild system limits their reprintability, since most sets don't support that.
@falloutimperial Evacuation Legacy is a fine card. w will support 1/2 or 2/1 but since this is a Survivor not a Warrior it shouldn't be expected to have special combat skills. 1/1 works well for it.
@Lujikul The Fifth Blade does feel a bit overpowered. Legendary is an interesting choice for a vanilla creature and there are few examples to compare. Creatures in Legends weren't costed correctly. Since it's a limitation it justifies extra stats, but 4/5 for 2w seems a bit much. Perhaps 3/5 or 4/4 would work better. In any case, overall a good job! It's really hard to balance both vanilla and legendary! Great use of all that extra space for flavor text. Still, being Legendary limits it reprintability. Legends rarely get pulled directly into another set.
@Faiths_Guide City Knight is well-costed. For ww a knight gets those stats and first strike, for 1w one gets 2/1 and first strike. This is right between those and clearly City Knights must not have as much combat experience as adventuring knights, since they don't have first strike.
@OberonOracle Good submissions, and costed well! Mass Produced Protector has good fantasy feel to it, as an artifact being cranked out. Spirit Soldier should probably be uncommon. Its hybrid mana limits it to sets that allow for hybrid. Meandering Colossus is fine as a 6/6 for 6. It doesn't necessarily need red in its cost, but it's fine to force Giants into a color if you want. Stormbreaker Colossus is good as a 10/10 for 10, but putting it into quadruple green should have a strong justification for why only green decks can play it. 9g would work, although aesthetically it looks good on the card as is.
@Dodgerer Golden Guardian works fine with the stats. For two double mana and a triple mana it deserves 8/14 for stats. I'm sure people would be unhappy with it in their rare slot, but not sure if it would be fitting to put it at uncommon either.
@Milanaarz Unmatched Fencer is costed correctly, great use of the space for flavor text, good fantasy feel from the name, type and art. Good work!
