The Weird Wild Wonderful World of Walls!
In the earliest days of Magic there was a creature type called Walls. They were cheap for their stats because there was a rule that they couldn't attack. The rule was removed when the ability Defender was created, all Walls were retroactively given Defender and now there a large number of creature types that can have that ability. But when it was only Walls doing that, they had a wide variety of names and abilities to go with them, mostly starting with "Wall of [name]." The earliest are the four elements, Wall of Air, Wall of Earth, Wall of Fire, Wall of Wind. After that they started getting crazier. Wall of Blossoms, Wall of Caltrops, Wall of Deceit, Wall of Denial, Wall of Faith, Wall of Junk, Wall of Kelp, Wall of Limbs, Wall of Mulch, Wall of Pine Needles, Wall of Putrid Flesh, Wall of Tombstones For this contest, you are challenged to come up with truly odd things to be Walls. These must be creatures with Wall for creature type and must have Defender as an ability. The rest is up to you. They can be serious, weird, silly, whatever you want, just try to give them art and abilities that feel like they match your name. You may submit up to 10 entries. The contest ends Sunday May 8. The winner gets 5 favorites, 2nd place 3 favorites, 3rd and 4th 2 favorites apiece, of the winner's choice.

Don't know if this counts since it has Illusion as a part of its creature type and none of its downsides- but hey- let's go with it.

@Corwinnn Wall of Insanity http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/wall-of-insanity
So if insanity doesn't kill you, you stop being insane. Nice art for this. I see you went old school using +1/+0 counters. Indestructible is very strong, but this creature doesn't go above 1 toughness by itself.
Chaos of Solitude http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/chaos-of-solitude-1
If a creature attacks by itself, Solitude can't block it. It's a good name, but the mechanics feel backwards to that.
@Shadikal Wall of Dreams. No comment since the card has been removed.
@fabiocbinbutter Wall of Anonymity http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/wall-of-anonymity
Not entirely anonymous if there are no cards in your hand before you return the wall, the card manifested is obvious. Fun take on the morph mechanic!
@Aech Wall of Bricks http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/wall-of-bricks
Really funny and one that hasn't been printed. A wall made of bricks? Who'd have thought it could be done?
Wall of Grasping Hands http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/wall-of-grasping-hands
Blocked by grasping hands. Another good one, like Putrid Flesh. The art is a bit dark so it took a second to see the hands. The overpower ability is fine, but with hybrid mana it can be a monowhite creature and the "no untap" part isn't a white ability. It would be better as just blue-white.
@Animist Crumbling Wall http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/crumbling-wall-1
Withering the wall makes good flavor. Good job!
Wall of Memories http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/wall-of-memories-1
Nicely done! Well balanced, good art and flavor!
@Creeper333_ Wall of Sprokcets http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/wall-of-sprokcets
Should be Sprockets. Decent utility as a 3 mana blocker in the early game or a late game mana dump with the Awaken to get a large creature along with it.
@MarhyX Wall of Defense http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/wall-of-defense
Blocked by defense itself! It's a high cost even for a 0/10 (or 0/13). Its enter the battlefield ability is unclear as to whether it's meant to give +0/+3 only the turn it enters, or is that meant to be permanent as in marked with counters, or is it ongoing as long as its on the field in which case it shouldn't have it as a triggered ability. And in any of those cases, is it meant to apply to itself? The art makes it an imposing creature to face.
Undead Forest http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/undead-forest
A Legendary Wall! Even with that mana cost it's OP with the attack limiter. It could never block since it can't block swampwalkers or flyers and only those can attack. So why does it give enemy creatures the power to attack?
What a fun card. It could be worded better, but the idea is interesting. It should be "into its owner's graveyard, exile, or the battlefield." The mechanic is that you win a coin flip to do something, so 50% if the time it works. Then there are 3 random choices so each is 16.33%, one of which is to leave the creature on the battlefield so there's no change at all. This leaves a 33% chance that the creature blocked will go to exile or the graveyard. Pretty good odds for a 3 mana blocker, but the coin flip and sending to graveyard don't work for blue-white. It feels like it should be red-black, or even blue-red-black.
@seanabit Wall of text http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/wall-of-text-12
Pretty funny. Needs a little clarification like do numbers count as words? Do we include the name, type and subtype? How about the artist names and the copyright information? I think it instead of "words on the creature" it should say "words in that blocked creature's text box, not counting flavor text." Thus adding more text to the Wall of Text!
@strongbelieves Crumbling Battlements http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/crumbling-battlements?list=user
Well done! Animating walls is usually a white ability. This feels at home in red and the cost is right.
@ostewart Parmaean Wall http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/permaean-wall
Triple color is a lot for a 0/3 defender so it's all about the ability. Since it's static, that means you can pay 3 mana for two counters at any time during the turn and as many times as you like. Is that intended, or should it triggered at a step or limited to once-per-turn?
@Faiths_Guide Breached Wall http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/breached-wall
Good flavor and art. It's very powerful, but with a huge drawback since if it does multiblock, something gets through. I don't see why it's target opponent who chooses which creature that is rather than the attacking player though.
Stonekin Roost http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/stonekin-roost?list=user
What a great creature for a Gargoyle deck! I see the X in the reminder text should be toughness. This would be fun to play!
Fertile Densewood http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/fertile-densewood
Good utility since if it blocks something that would kill it you get the mana back.
@yousmelllikeapumpkin Wall of Trump http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/wall-of-trump-1?list=user
Political humor, offensive but funny. I don't get the colors for the artifact creature though. I can just see this as sideboard tech at the World Championship and Mexican players calling for an emergency banning.
The first two choices don't mean much without the third one, and the third ability strips it of any abilities granted by the first two. Losing defender is part of that third choice anyway.
@TheFriendlyGeek The Ancient Snail http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/the-ancient-snail-1
Another legendary wall, this one with scrying for days! Its final ability is odd since it puts random 5 mana creatures directly on the field and the creature itself has no color requirements so it's like an artifact doing this.
@Piwhy Wall of Nightmares. No comment since the card has been removed.
@ArienStorm Wall of the Ancients http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/wall-of-the-ancients-1
Another one! More old-school counters in +0/+1. This one can shoot down an attacker after blocking another creature. Very strong. The art makes me think the statues are chopping someone down with their giant stone swords.
@EmpathNaga Wall of Dissonance http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/wall-of-dissonance
Blocked by dissonance! The art is odd, but how do you represent dissonance itself anyway? Does the blocked creature get -X/-0 permanently like with counters, or is it until end of turn?
@Zanmato Protective Barrier http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/protective-barrier-3
Flash makes this playable and echo plus not being indestructible itself balances it. Good job!
@AustinSmith Great Wall of Donald Trump http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/great-wall-of-donald-trump
Another offensive but funny political card. The Huuuge ability really makes this one.
