Design a Legendary Werewolf (Judging Phase)
Strangely enough, despite having a werewolf planeswalker and many Innistrad sets to do it, there has never been a legendary werewolf card. Therefore, the purpose of this challenge is to design a legendary werewolf and possibly some cards to go with them, simple as that. A story (however brief) that covers the werewolf in some way would also be nice, but I'm not requiring it.
Rules:
-A maximum of 1 Werewolf and 5 accompaning cards per cardsmith.
-A legendary werewolf has to be entered.
-The legendary werewolf must be a transforming card (so just make two cards that would each be a side and tell me what turns into what).
-If you coin a new keyword or mechanic and don't define it within one of your cards, you must explain the keyword somewhere within your entry.
-Please, try to make your entries as close to correctly worded and formatted as possible (although minor wording errors won't count against you if I can clearly tell the intent of the card).
-While not required, it would be convenient if you put all of the cards you wish to enter in one post.
-While not required, it is helpful for me to know what format you designed your cards to be in (Commander, Modern, Standard, etc.).
I like to score out of 100 for easy comparison.
Points:
50pt: How well designed the Werewolf and any accompanying card(s) are.
25pt: Creativity and originality of the card(s) (while still clearly werewolf, try to make this card stand out in some way)
10pt: How appealing your cards are (like, if I were to see this in a Booster pack how likely am I to say "oh, cool" and not have the urge to give it away or trash it. Rarity is a slight factor in this).
10pt: Interaction of the cards with themselves and other already existing cards.
5pt: Balance of the card(s) playability wise. (Tip: I would rather see your cards underpowered than OP).
Bonus Points:
10pt: A story or explanation of your werewolf to go along with your entry (the better the story/explanation, the higher the score).
7pt: Flavor of the card(s) (not necessarily flavor text).
3pt: Artwork of the card(s) (1pt for having it on all cards, 1pt for quality of the art [in terms of it actually being art I'd expect to find on an MTG card], and 1pt for how good each piece looks and relates to the card it was put on).
Prizes:
Score a B- (80/100) or higher: A fave on your Legendary Werewolf.
3rd: A fave on your Legendary Werewolf and I'll look through your cards and fave at least 2 cards I like.
2nd: A follow, a fave on your Legendary Werewolf and I'll look through your cards and fave at least 3 cards I like.
1st: A follow, a fave on your Legendary Werewolf, and I'll look through your cards and fave at least 4 cards I like.

Cedric was afflicted with the lycanthropic curse at an early age, around the time of becoming an adult. He lived the typical werewolf life, (I use typical loosely here) until one day, (the fire nation) a band of Falkenrath attacked the pack. Cedric fled as the others were mercilessly slaughtered, and held a deep rooted grudge against the bloodsuckers since. Several years later, after tireless training in isolation, Cedric developed methods of combating vampires involving the use of weapons made of silver, and lined the knuckles and toes of his armor with the metal. He has a new prey now: the vampires. He'll stop at nothing to make sure every last one of them is dead, no matter how much blood has to be spilled.
I'll be posting my entry once I get some sleep... And then figure out what to make.

(The art is a little iffy IMO. Found quite a few suitable pieces but not many that looked good side-by-side.)

Yeah, I'll allow that since it does indeed have a legendary werewolf side to it. Very creative, but I'd love to know how Tybalt came to be a werewolf.
But I guess you could get any picture of a human who looks barbaric, mean, solitary, amibitous, etc, and find a random Werewolf art. Shouldn't be too hard.
Probably laziness, lack of demand, or they're busy with some other upcoming feature
Just be patient. It'll eventually come.

Kerus was bitten while he and and some of his friends were on a hunting trip on the lightly forested plains of Dre'Ir. They beat away the werewolf before it could bite any of the others, and then looked around for shelter. They saw an abandoned hut, where they managed to take Kerus before he collapsed, sweaty, chest heaving. His friends tried to minister to him, but Kerus waved them away, telling them to tell his family that he had been bitten by a werewolf and was becoming a hermit to keep those of his city safe. Unwillingly, Kerus' friends rode away. After a few minutes, they began to hear Kerus scream an agonizing scream. They spurred their horses on, but they couldn't escape one long howl.
When Kerus' friends told his family what had happened, they felt sad. Kerus' mother talked her husband into sending Kerus some basic supplies. The horse and rider made it there and back safely, though not without a warning to never go near his hut near the full moon if he wanted to live. Kerus' older brother, a talented artificer, sent a construct soldier to see if his brother's threat held any truth. Nigh needless to say, it did.
Now, Kerus lives his lonely life content to its weary end, somewhat surprised at living this long as a werewolf. However, he has gotten control over his wild side, and has actually somewhat enjoyed being a human in werewolf's clothing.

I explained the design thought that went into him and his abilities in the comments of the first side so i'll go into the story here.
Yithark was born in a small unremarkable village somewhere in the woods of Innistrad. From birth Yithark was already large, growing taller than all of the other kids his age, Yithark became somewhat of a bully. As Yithark grew up he started working hard on his parents farm but never outgrew picking on those smaller than him.
One night Yithark's life changed forever. He had told another, much smaller, boy his age to meet him in the field at midnight and to bring him money. The boy, Gavis, had other plans. Gavis was tired of Yithark insistently picking on him and shaking him down for cash. As Yithark leaned in close to grab the money, Gavis thrust his knife forwards into Yithark's gut. The blade cut deep and Yithark's thick red blood came poring out of his wound. Clenching his damaged stomach with one hand Yithark glared at Gavis through clenched fangs, an animalistic hunger overtaking his eyes. Yithark's clothes ripped and fell to the ground around him in shreds as his form became to large for them, a thick brown fur sprouting in there place. Gavis stepped back, screaming, and collapsed out of fear, he fumbled to grab for the knife which he had dropped but his hand barely moved an inch before Yithark's new fangs had severed his entire head from it's body.
The whole village was awoken by Gavis's screams and upon seeing the monstrous lycanthrope in there field's, the townsfolk were quick to grab pick forks and torches, crossbows and bolts. A whizzing sound then a bolt buried itself in Yithark's side, he turned to face the angry mob. In Yithar's eyes was a look not of fear but of rage and of hunger. He charged into the mob tearing through them with tooth and claw.
Yithark woke with a start. A throbbing headache tortured him as he looked around confused. All he saw around him were trees and bushes, what was he doing in the forest? He rose to his feet and quickly fell down again, his hand flew to his side, where he now felt an agonizing pain. What the hell? he found a crossbow bolt burying itself between his ribs. As he sat there in pain a realization dawned over him and he remembered what had happened that last night.
To this day Yithark is found wandering the forests with a small pack of other misfit lycanthrope's he picked up. Any who try to harm Yithark or his pack soon find there severed head watching and their bodies are devoured by the rabid pack. Even packs on smaller werewolf's will find themselves falling prey to Yithark's massive jaws.

Wow that was alot, thank you if you read through all of that. I didn't plan on taking 5 paragraphs to tell his story but just started writing and couldn't stop. I'm pretty happy with how the card and the story turned out.
Trust me, we all have those moments when designing a card story!

And here is the story part...
Corvin, born in Thraben, always watched the soldiers outside his home, as his father was captain of the city guard, and he had always wanted to be a soldier. In his childhood, he and his friends always sword fought and laughed and played games that resembled war and protecting the city of Thraben. His desire to be a guardsmen and eventually Captain of the City Watch faded away as when he was around 15 years of age, the guardian angel Avacyn disappeared and everyone was afraid. Zombies and werewolves ran rampant without any force stopping them. Corvin's aspirations went into the monster slaying direction. He was good with the sword and quick to battle, but also quick to anger.
Corvin and some of his companions were traversing the great Ulvenwald, looking for some Werewolves or Zombies to slay. Suddenly, the four noticed there was a mist creeping about them, on the ground oddly enough.
"Do you guys see what's going on..?", Corvin asked his companions.
"Nothing, really, at all.. Just this odd mist..", replied Vorh,
"Yeah, nothing to report here.", answered back Liim
"Umm..... I don't think glaring eyes just float in mid air..", said the third companion, Stef, who shakily drew his sword.
"Be steady, fellows.. Sudden movements will be the end of us.", Corvin drew his sword and steadied his breathing patterns, and got better control over himself. Stef was shaking badly, obviously scared to death.
"Stef!", Corvin angrily whispered, "Control your breathing, and do not move! You do NOT want to get caught by this werewolf."
Corvin slowly motioned for everyone else to back away, while he stood firm where he was.
"What are you doing..?" yelled Stef. Unfortunately, the poor fool couldn't control himself when the werewolf roared, and he screamed and ran, leaving his sword in the ground. The werewolf leaped over the other three, and captured Stef. Stef closed his eyes shut and murmured prayers to the Church for protection, but everyone, including Stef, knew there was no protection coming. The wolf raised Stef up by the back of his shirt and roared in his face, which caused Stef to scream. At the sound of the screaming man, the wolf raked Stef’s belly area, and out came just about everything.
“Stef!”, yelled Vorh and Liim in unison. The wolf dropped Stef, and turned its attention to the others. Corvin carefully studying the wolfs movements, knew that he wasn’t in immediate danger, and began to back away.. He backed up until he was a safe distance away, and began to turn around…
Right smack-dab into an even bigger werewolf.. Corvin knew there was going to be blood here. The werewolf smacked Corvin against a tree, which dropped him to his stomach. Corvin slowly, but surely got back up and drew his other weapon, a slightly smaller, silver sword.
With that, he charged the werewolf.
There was only one mistake he made: Leaving his companions, who now lay dead, missing parts of their bodies, including arms, legs, and Liim lost his head. The werewolf in front of Corvin reared and swiped at him letting out a grunt. Corvin ducked and spun under the wolfs arm, knicking its leg with his silver sword. The wolf wimpered and backed away, as part of his leg started to burn. Corvin didn’t realize there was another wolf behind him. The wolf behind Corvin picked him up and bit him on the shoulder.
Filled with adrenaline, Corvin raced back up and ducked under swinging claws and arms, only to spring up and plunge the silver sword into the werewolf’s chest, causing it to gasp, back up, wimper, and fall over, taking Corvin’s sword along with him.
“Damned wolves!” Corvin cursed, realing his sword was gone in the wolf, and again realizing there was still one more wolf to deal with.
One problem.
He didn’t know where it was.
Corvin raced to pick his weapon out of the dead wolf, which the blade was jammed in the middle of the rib cage. Getting it free nearly exhausted him.. He breathed in and out heavily, and realized he could only hear himself..
The wolf gave out a fierce roar and jumped out of the tree above Corvin and pinned him to the ground. Corvin slapped the blade of his longsword, which was made of iron, flat against the wolf’s neck, And held the beast away.. The wolf snapped and snarled and slobbered all over Corvin’s face. The silver shortsword, which was just out of his reach to his right, was what he needed to triumph over the snarling, snapping wolf.
In one move, Corvin slid his foot into the wolf’s right leg, and tripped it a little bit. Just barely. But that was all he needed for he pushed the sword while the wolf was tripped and rolled just once and kept up his defense.
What Corvin did next saved his life. Corvin let go of the longsword with his left hand, which caused the tip to plunge into his left shoulder. Grimacing, Corvin slid his arm around and found the handle to the silver sword and grabbed it. In one, strong swipe, Corvin took the blade, and plunged it into the beasts neck, causing it to reel back and yelp rather loudly, nearly deafening Corvin, and causing him to roll up in discomfort and pain, as his left shoulder had been pierced with a sword, and his right bitten by a werewolf. The wolf fell down and slumped even lower, now dead. The corpses of the wolves started to burn and flake away into nothing, until there was just two warped skeletal frames laying on the ground.
Corvin got up, and walked over to the dead bodies of Vorh, Liim, and Stef. He cried a bit and cursed them for yelling and screaming, but he knew they couldn’t help it. Stef was Liim’s little brother, and Vorh was Liim’s best friend. Wiping tears from his face, Corvin began to walk home, towards Thraben.
And remembered…
He was afflicted with the curse of a werewolf.
Corvin wrapped it up with the clothing of his dead companions and wandered home, scared and triumphant over two werewolves.
Later on in Corvin’s life, he became Captain of the Daywatch, a society devoted to slaying werewolves and the accused, although Corvin himself was a werewolf. He tried to do good with his life, but no matter how hard he tried, there was always the bloodlust.. and anger.
Gruul!!! We need a Red/Green Legendary Human Werewolf! Other colors WON'T cut it! Maybe it could be Naya (perhaps if you really needed additional colors for story line or something, whatever), but it must have both Red and Green. This won't effect whether or not you entry is valid (per the rules above), but think about Commander! Color identity is VITAL! If your dude doesn't include Gruul colors you can't (effectively) run Werewolves, so why even make a Legendary Creature at all!
(Just my two cents, which may not have quite that much value but hey.)
I just assumed the flip side was R/G so it was a R/W/G legendary werewolf for the color identity (similarly to Avacyn being R/W for her identity). Unfortunately the "gold" setting doesn't give many clues to what colors the flip side should be.
Lycaon, the Avenger

Lycaon, Alpha of the Outland
Lycaon was born in a small village in the outland valleys of Stensia. Growing up, he had an unnatural affinity with animals. He become very close to his fellow villagers, and became a scout who would watch over the town.
One night, Lycaon was performing a scouting mission on horseback, when he saw a mass of black flying through the sky. He looked closer, and seeing the glint of red armor, realized it was the Falkenrath. He urged his horse to a gallop back to the village, desperate to warn the others of the vampiric threat.
However, he was too late. When he came upon the village, he saw inummerable corpes littering the ground, the blood drained from their bodies.
Lycaon went insane, riding his horse into the woods of Somberland. During the night, whilst he was sleeping, his horse ran off into the woods. Yet still he ran. Lycaon fled so far that he ended up in Ulvenwald, the dark forest of Kessig. Lycaon picked a fight with everything he saw, with suicidal thoughts on his mind. He was then came upon by a pack of werewolves who mauled him. As Lycaon laid on the ground, bleeding out, he saw a faint light wash over him. And then everything went dark.
When Lycaon awoke, his insanity was cured. However it was replaced by a new curse: lycanthropy. While he did not know what saved him, he vowed that using his new powers, he would not rest until the Falkenrath paid for the pain they caused him, and their entire bloodline was wiped out.

She gangs up with friends to hunt you down and they will not stop until you are confirmed dead and looted. So hey, don't avoid the $50 for an axe (Cheap prices, anyway), because if you don't, you're paying your life and all that you own.

Den was the unborn son of a race preceding the Ulgrotha beasts, extinguished by the invasion of vampiric demons from the underground world. This race was deeply connected to the use of magic and empowering cults in other individuals, assimilating them to their people and race, so they would grow in number, in strength and in power.
Long after it's life was no more, a sinister Wizzard tried revitalizing it's soul, faithfully believing it would help the humans to gain strength for survival on Zendikar. As result of being dragged from the dead, His soul quickly dissolved itself into the air, and soon Den became the manifestation of a phantom. Weak and innocent, it would bring his mystic essence to the kind and faithful, but the anger in it's heart would still affect those around him. Whenever he was to manifest his Bestial and now supernatural form, the relentless spirit would curse those he was before to find loyal to the good.
If his anger and resentment from his death were to take form, those blessed by him were soon to become his slaves in the path for vengeance.
I have no idea, actually XD
