[Results Posted!]Custom Block Contest #1: Crusade for Mirrodin (or Even Newer Phyrexia)[Closed]
Hey everyone, my first contest (series)!
The Custom Block Contests (CBC for short) will focus on either original story blocks I've created, or that are submitted to me after this round. The winners of each contest will be decided by yours truly, mainly through 2 major judging areas: flavor, how well the card submitted fit into the block, and mechanics, how well the card submitted utilizes the mechanics present in the block. And without further ado, here is the first block for the CBC:
Crusade for Mirrodin
Rise of the Empire: The plane of Mirrodin, now called New Phyrexia, has been forgotten, abandoned by the Planeswalkers. But it has not been sleeping. Now, the New Phyrexian Empire is preparing to invade the Mulitverse, much like before the Mending. Only this time, there is no Urza to prepare for it. In fact, the Phyrexian threat is back, and only Alamay realizes it. ("The Work Has Just Begun")
Counterattack: Alamay, joined by the Gatewatch, have begun to fight back against the New Phyrexian Empire, aiming to at least rebind the horrible corruption back to Mirrodin. But, unbeknownst to the Gatewatch, Alamay has a new weapon, capable of purifying the glistening oil: entropy. But is it their crusade too little, too late? ("Hope Can Never Die")
Mirrodin Reborn: Against all odds, Alamay and the Gatewatch are victorious, defeating the New Phyrexian Empire, and returning Mirrodin to its former glory, purifying the metal plane of the glistening oil. The only problem now is rehabilitation. Years of Phyrexian corruption has left its mark on Mirrodin, and the plane is barely alive as it stands. Can Mirrodin heal from Phyrexia's scars? ("The Strongest Steel is Forged in Fire")
Here are the mechanics in each set:
~Rise of the Empire: Infect, Proliferate, Scarred (This creature gets a +1/+1 counter every time it receives damage.), Metalloid (This card is an artifact in addition to its other types.).
~Counterattack: Infect, Scarred, Physicality N (http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/uninfect?list=set&set=7936), Counterattack subtype (http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/terrifying-echo?list=set&set=7936), Metalloid (This card is an artifact in addition to its other types.).
~Mirrodin Reborn: Scarred, Physicality N, Healing (At the beginning of your upkeep, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature), Metalloid (This card is an artifact in addition to its other types.).
And the evergreen abilities/mechanics are present through all three sets.
Finally, what's really important; PRIZES!
1st Place: 4 Favorites, 2 Card Renders, and the ability to choose the focus of the next CBC.
2nd Place: 3 Favorites, 1 Card Render, and the ability to choose the focus of the next CBC, if 1st place doesn't want to.
3rd Place: 2 Favorites and the ability to choose the focus of the next CBC, if 2nd place doesn't want to.
All participants: 1 Favorite and constructive critics on all entries.
Edit:Winners will be decided from a non-prize pool called "Best of Set", which will have the top 3 cards of each set. So, the more sets you enter under, the better the chances of winning!
*3 Entries per Set, per Account*
*Must be New Cards*
The first round of CBC will end in about 2 weeks, give or take.
Good luck to all!
Thanks to @Gelectrode for the Metalloid keyword and @Mysterious_Gangsta for "Even Newer Phyrexia".

Rise of the Empire: Graveborn
Counterattack: Commander
Mirrodin Reborn: Diamond
Oh, and @Gelectrode, I think that will work. I assume that's a mechanic of your own creation, and a cool one at that, so I'll add it in.

Healing (At the beginning of your upkeep, put a recharge counter on target creature, this can not exceed this creature's base toughness)
X: Remove a recharge counter. Said creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn.
But, ignoring that, I thought I'd should make some cards exemplifying some of the custom mechanics, in case someone's confused on how to use them. If that's the case, this comment will slowly grow with more examples (that, and the cards submitted can help).

Hope you enjoy! I'll post more as I make them.
Also, how about an extra bit of flavor?
Here's Elesh Norn, now emperor of New Phyrexia: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/elesh-norn-emperor
...And here's Lolaxia, her flipped side: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/lolaxia-corrupted-form?list=set&set=7937.
That's right, a Phyrexian planeswalker. The Crusade for Mirrodin just got a bit more interesting...not to mention more complicated.

I apologize for the spelling of "theEnd" for Sheolred and Jin-Gitaxias - there wasn't enough room to fit the names.

Oh, and @Lujikul, I always thought that Phyrexia would end up finishing either the Prototype Portal, or the planeshifting machine Venser was working on. However, having Elesh Norn become a planeswalker seemed much more of a WOTC move.
Overseer Myr:

Reinforce is a mechanic that I created specifically for this card, and this set. I was wondering if I could have your opinion on it.
Happy Smithing!
This is a card I made because I love Myr.
For Rise of the Empire.
