http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/forge-17?list=user Forge N (You may choose an Equipment card you own with converted mana cost N or less from outside the game, reveal that card, and create a token that's a copy of it.)
By the way @TrippleBoggey3, when is the deadline? You are currently hosting 8(?) contests, but you didn't tell us about most of those deadlines.
I don't know where to put card advice, so excuse me if this is a faux pas on the forums, but I wanted to let you know that lands are all colorless. Also, this mechanic would just end the game for the opponent. There wound need to be a serious extra cost and limitation to destroying one land at absolute most. Maybe paying mana and sacrificing the creature or one of your own lands?
I made one called Vanguard, it gives you an extra combat phase if you ONLY attacked with creatures with Vanguard during your first combat phase. Made a transform card to show it off, it's on the transformed side.
@MrRansom Pure awesome. But, he don't look human and he's probably too powerful right now. Starts as a respectable 3/2 buffing every other dude (like a changeling lord), pretty easy flip condition, he becomes a 5/5 first striker that makes all dudes +2/+1 with trample (first strike seems more fitting in Boros colors), gets to attack twice... That's pretty (overly) stellar at 3 CMC IMO.
I think this would quickly become one of the most popular tiny leader commanders ever.
@Faiths_Guide, I don't think it would get to attack twice, because it doesn't have vigilance, it would be tapped. But let's not hijack this thread for our discussion. Please, comment on the card itself so that we don't take up this thread.
I have noticed a drastic increase in the number of mechanic contests that are better than this, and as this has not had an entry in a while, I will move the end date to... Tomorrow.
My mechanic is Catalyst. It is mainly for blue and red instants/sorceries. It means (cost), reveal this card from your hand: exile target spell you control, then cast it without paying its mana cost. You must choose the same targets if possible. http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/flaming-interrupt Cards sometimes may get benefits from being catalysed: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/chaotic-explosion Sometimes cards have both: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/truthful-denial (P.S. I couldn't find any better art, so I chose one that was used in MTG. :P)
I'm making a new mechanic called "Soul Fluctuation" that reads: Whenever this creature deals combat damage, you gain life equal to its toughness, and lose life equal to its power. It's almost solely a black/white mechanic and has several things that make it potentially powerful. First of all, there are tons of cards that have "Whenever you gain/lose life" that can reap benefits from Soul Fluctuation. Second of all, the ability of soul fluctuation allows for lower mana cost creatures with a higher power; sure, you can have a 5/3 creature early in the game because during combat you lose 2 life from him. I'm going to keep making them but right now I only have three but only one of them is a new card so I'll post that one:
Pillage N(When this creature deals combat damage to a player, exile the top N cards of that player's library, you may cast those cards until end of turn, you may spend mana as though it were mana of any color to cast them.)
Prizes: I will favorite my favorite entries. If you are in my top 3, I will favorite some cards of your choice (only if requested). Top 3 will each get a card made for them in my Promotion of Cardsmith Contest using their mechanic. A trophy will be made for the winners.
@Opcode_6e, Energized is actually an interesting mechanic. It gives the user a reason to leave a permanent untapped, which would be even where there's no reason to block. Interesting...
@RedRageMage, I've always liked your Favored Foe. The name makes sense, and though it might be hard to construct on, it can act like a secondary removal spell.
@UndeadZombie22, Paying life is already too common. I do not believe we need a mechanic for it. Sorry.
@yousmelllikeapumpkin, I can't view the card. I know what contemplate is but I can't understand anything without being able to view the card.
@Gamerpg04, I believe the "pressure" would be better used as just the wording itself.
@Animist, "Mindful" is a good idea. It prevents overpowered use in Aggro and yet can be useful against Aggro as Aggro is always low on cards.
@SubstituteHero, Living Spell can be used well... I generally don't like the idea of balance mechanics but okay... I guess it does work.
@Balgeron, sorry, but there just aren't enough curses.
@LegendXP, I love Spellborn. It just shows the ability of using those instant or Sorceries in other uses.
@Animist, okay... Painborn? That thing is awesome!!! I just love how it's ability makes sense. It's weaker cause it was hurt... And then it can cost less... It's like a Phyrexian mana alternate that makes more sense.
@Feyamius, I love the idea of Scatter, but I just think it's better used as a written out ability.
@Tomigon, Same as others, I like the idea, just see it better written out.
@LuckyLeopard665, Spread is just way to OP. It's better written out too.
@Opcode_6e, Chroma is an excellent idea, boosting the essence of mono color.
@Tomigon, Insidious... I just don't like it... I can't say why, just can't see it as a mechanic. But Flux? That's a whole new story. Flux is like boost, boost, boost, overload. I love it.
@MrRansom, I guess Vanguard makes sense, but still... I'm confused a little at how it would be good.
@Cnatch, Compleate is a nice idea, but I would suggest it with a number, like Compleate 3.
@LyndonF, Your explanation of Catalyst makes no sense.
@Monty, Pillage is a nice idea, so you can like "rob" your friend? Sure!
@RohanDragoon, Soul Fluctuation works I guess, but can be a bit too confusing and complicated.
3rd Place: @Animist with Painborn. I really liked it, but I just felt that the others has more original ideas and more to offer.
2nd Place: @Tomigon with Flux. It's a nice idea, but really, 1st place just had more to offer.
1st Place: @Opcode_6e with... Chroma!!! I just really like the idea of a me chic targeted for monocolored decks. I haven't seen any mechanic like that ever.
I'm too lazy to do it now, but I will make cards for the winners on my Promotion of Cardsmiths thread... Later. If you want me to favorite some cards winners, sure, but I won't do it unless requested.
@TrippleBoggey3, thanks for hosting the contest! Sorry if Vanguard was confusing to you, I can see how it might appear complicated. Just for example, it could be used with things like exalted, things that tap opponent's creatures, and also to force opponent's to make choices they otherwise would not. I think there are myriad applications for it.

Ok. I just wanted to know how much time I can take to create a card.

Compleate (To compleate a creature, if it isn't a Horror, put two +1/+1 counters on it and it becomes a Horror artifact creature.)
The card: Phyrexian Evangel
There are some really great ideas on this challenge!

I don't have a disqus account so someone else mind writing in the winners? Thanks!
This contest is now closed.
Thanks for the contest @TrippleBoggey3

XD
Also, Chroma is an actual MTG Keyword already, in case you weren't aware.
