Boss Rush! Designing "bosses" for magic, the gathering.

i have a ideia of creating a single player (and may be multyplayer) of magic called boss rush.

A boss is like a tiny leader creature, each one of then will have 3 diferent colors, but they doesnt need to get out of the command zone.

Each boss start with 20 life per opponent, and a deck sigleton, without lands

At each turn, players will roll a d6 dice, and each 2 number will have a result like this?

1/2 - do nothing

3/4 - use a special move of each boss

4/6 - play the top card of their deck

Also, bosses will have the boss creature type and a static skill to help out their creatures

Their will be 10 winners (5 shards and 5 wedges). each one will have a follow and 5 likes of choice.

Remember, their will be a deck too. So try to explaing with what sinergy it would have with actual mtg cards.

  • This almost feels like a planeswalker (maybe a subtype?). Their life could be loyalty, and they could have rules text in one column, and two distinct abilities in each other column. I'll work on a creature version and a planeswalker version to see which looks better.

    I'd also recommend checking out the official challenge decks from the Theros block.

    I dunno if MTGCardsmith can handle a new card type. Here's a planeswalker, but it's still not quite ideal.

  • I definitely want to experiment with this. It could be fun. If I remember correctly, they did something like this with Garruk, once.
