This is the first of the Symbiont creatures I plan to create. Just posting this for initial place saving before I'm able to really flesh the concept out.
Oh, I didn't mean that, sorry. xD I just LOL'd reading "Wompcycling", because it's just such a funny word ... the typo came from me. And to be honest, "wombcycling" isn't such a funny thing at all.
@SubstituteHero If this should be a series, you have some work to do with the wording. This right here is very confusing. Maybe look up some similar mechanisms like living weapon or bestow and adapt those to your concept. You don't have to reinvent the wheel (does that saying even exist in english? ;D).
Okay ... you asked for it. I think the artwork is very bad and destroys every attempt for Magic flair possible. Then the formatting is quite off, you write over the border almost on each card.
Mechanically speaking, I like Grunt Minor the most. It's quite cool that every Uggoy has Covardice as well so that they attack in formation. Would be much cooler if that theme could be a little more fleshed out. With the army theme, maybe you could undig Flanking or something. For a whole species with hybrid mana, I really miss something like "if R was paid for casting this creature, then xyz, if U was paid for casting it, then abc", but I can't really hold against the set that you didn't have the same ideas than me (and I don't know for sure if that idea is very good anyway).
Overall, I don't really like the tech level of these guys. Phyrexians, Myr, even Arcbounds are very technological beings, but they all feel more like ... magical, mostly somewhat "living" technology. Your Uggoy just look like regular SciFi robots (and I assume that's what they are in Halo, aren't they?).
I'm sorry, but they are just not really my kinda style.
I'm still adding to this set so remember to check it every once in a while.
Siege Roc - I figured that, from a flavor standpoint, it would constantly be attacking things so it would be being swung at by people on the ground, but it would overpower those guys easily.
Skyguard Roc - Carries people off obviously.
Captain's Bane - Attacks ships at sea, obviously.
Guardian of Death Summit - Guards it mountain. Would have given it vigilance but it didn't seem like a very black color thing to do.
Sun's Wrath - Aggressive flyer that can be hard to get rid of, especially if you're using a boros deck.
King of the Flock - Bird decks suddenly become slightly viable, lol.
@DankSoulsRager Please just keep me updated here in this thread if you add something. Thanks. And I had distributed the rarity totally different. Siege, Skyguard and Guardian could totally be common, Sun's Wrath could be uncommon, King of the Flock is maybe already mythic - and totally broken: let's say you have just one creature with a +1/+1 on the battlefield and then the King enters: proliferate, one 1/+1 counter comes, so you get one bird token, that bird token enters the battlefield, so being a bird, it gets a +1/+1 counter from second ability, but a bird just entered the battlefield, so proliferate from the first ability, this time two counters are distributed, so two tokens enter the battlefield, they are birds and get +1/+1 counters, two new Birds means proliferating twice ... and so on. That's a combo without combination.
At least it should say "Whenever a nontoken bird enters the battlefield, proliferate". Then it could work and would be strong nevertheless.
@KimJongMartin OMG is this bad design, and that card has been reprinted twice?!? Unbelievable. He just should have distributed Cowardice as a keyword (not like you worded it, just as a hint that this creature got Cowardice now and can't block warriors) or something instead of making it a creature type. Changelings are cowards now. How ... nice ... *facepalm*
By the way: Your Cowardice is very similar to my Escape keyword from the lithleks. But this is a very, very small downside compared with the choice of Coward as a creature type. I'm sorry, but no. Just no. xD
I wanted to give a creature type to something that felt like it should already have been implemented in the game but was somehow missing. Hence the creature type "Doll".
Dolls are usually colorless artifact creature with the creature type Construct in Magic. I put them in Esper (which is a colour combination that is obviously at ease with coloured artifact creature) and which felt mechanically tied to what I had in mind for dolls and puppets (sealing, replacement, taking control, etc...)
Here's a vertical Esper Cycle. They all ask you to choose a creature when they enter the battlefield ^^
@Feyamius Hey, I noticed you're pretty good at criticism, but nonetheless try to save it for after the contest and put it on each card page. Otherwise, people will send in new submissions because they KNOW their card is not what you want.
@Feyamius@MtgSalvader, MTGCS isn't that hardcore of a contest. Who cares if they make new entries? We have ours, and just cause Feyamius gives them advice doesn't give them an advantage. Advice is good, and we all need it. It's not like we're lacking the chance to win in the first place. I like Feyamius - He's a nice guy.
@TripleBoggey3 I don't think it's hardcore at all, but sometimes people get mad at those who provide criticism immediately. I agree, Feyamius is a great guy, but maybe add a few more positive things too, no @Feyamius ? It just makes people feel better to have a mix of both.
I'm not one of those people that get mad like that, and I'm glad to see TrippleBoggey3 isn't, but hey. Sadly there are always those kinds of people.
I know that's a little issue with me not using the "sandwich method" for criticism (positiv thing first, negative points, again finishing with something positive), I try to work on that, but I often think the positive aspects are highlighted very forced and labored then. Therefor, I try to say the negative things nicely at least.
If I really like something, I point that out. But if I find many aspects just ok-ish but one aspect very bad, then I don't want to sugarcoat my criticism about what I think is the relevant aspect in between two puff pieces about irrelevant stuff.
But anyway, like I said, thanks for your feedback, I kinda know that's my thing, and I already try to change that for the better.
Be our guest, if you're stressed, MTG Cutlery we suggest!

This set is a bit off-the wall, and takes its inspiration from a mix of things (having watched Beauty and the Beast on the insistence of my girlfriend, for a start, but also my older cousin planning from her wedding). It's a very narrow set, I recognise, but that allows it to be highly synergistic, and once you have a 'full table' set you can start doing pretty nutty things. However, since the cutlery all start at 1/1s for 2, killing them shouldn't be too problematic for your opponent. Then Feast lands, and the Crockery Engines start coming, at which point it's time for you to tuck in, because it's going to be a night to remember.
@Mila Usually, they're called Abomination in their name and have Horror as their creature type. You just switched that. Is that really something new? Hum ...
@Arensen I'm not a big fan of unserious cards, but those are well made and funny in a good way. Don't misunderstand, I would never ever play them, but just looking at them I like.
This creature type is admittedly pretty weird: "Party". It's not about parties like music and friends and fun, but a Party as in a Squad, or a Group. The creature type Party depicts a crowd of creatures, not just one. There is obviously numerous ways to do that in Magic, but I chose to duplicate the creature as tokens because I like how it translates on the table: you just put a dice on it indicating how many you have, which really feels like a group of creatures to me.
@ningyounk I feel this is more like a mechanic than a creature type, but I understand your approach on it, too, and acknowledge it as part of this contest for sure. And last but not least, I pretty much like it.
And there's over a week left, I think I'll get enough more normal creature types sooner or later. Ok, it may sound like I'd prefer those, but that's not the case. A well made strange type would have better chances than a normal animal-like type without any interesting features. But also I kinda miss some down to earth lifeforms. I think this is why I made "some" myself.

(Edit: Wikipedia says Yes.)
I tried to keep the wording as close as possible to bestow, which is a similar mechanic that relates to spirits and enchantments.

Oh, and why are the Rocs not Birds themselves?

P.S: Note that one of the creature is a Doll Party, which is a direct reference to my previous entry on Dolls
