@TrippleBoggey3 I understand what Butters meant, he just didn't convey it strongly enough for us to understand. The contest is realistic enough to my understanding, it is just explained poorly.
@TrippleBoggey3 The contest isn't unrealistic. Like I said, WotC just came out with cards that have abilities which only do anything if another specific named card is on the battlefield, specifically Verdant Crescendo and Liberating Combustion. This makes the cards literally useless. The other cards that are still horrible but not quite as horrible are Renegade Firebrand and Guardian of the Great Conduit which are limited to having a Chandra or Nissa planeswalker of any kind and not the specific named ones. Still awful.
Basically, the only cards that can be made for this contest are explicitly bad cards you would never want to play in any format.
I don't mind this contest actually, it forces people to think of cards in a different concept than usual comps. It challenges our understanding on how to word the cards, and this isn't me trying to suck up to Butters but c'mon guys this is a contest and if you don't like the rules then bugger off - gives me a better chance at winning anyway. This is Butters' contest and its up to him to make the rules however unordinary they may be. He has explained the rules of the contest and if you still don't understand then message him about it.
Maybe he could have written it as "non-planeswalker permanents that target specific planeswalkers you control"? That way we could have made stuff kinda liked"Oath of Chandra, Jace, Liliana, etc.
@KimJongMartin@StrongBelieves How about seeing it as a challenge to make a good card? In my opinion your behavior is not fair to @Butters and his effort.
@TastyCheez yes @TrippleBoggey3 and @strongbelieves. That is up to you guys. The idea of this contest was to test ALL aspects of mtg not just the popular areas. If you choose not to enter, it just makes me job easier when it comes to DQing people.
@kltmtg29 totally up to you dude. You can make a custom and make a supporting instant or sorcery or you can just make a card that supports an existing planeswalker. Just make sure you atleast attach the link to your entries.
No, @Butters, that's not what I meant. I'm just saying that the contest is a bit unrealistic. I'm not saying it's bad. I'm perfectly fine with it. Don't get me wrong.
Comments
Not associated with a particular planeswalker. Just a general esper support card for planeswalkers.
