MTG Lore challenge
Hello guys! This is Hafglop and this is my first challenge yet.
This challenge may be a little different from other challenges, because in this challenge, you need to think about the lore behind the card and not if the card is even playable. (Though don't make a card super unplayable, it might be easier to make it playable).
So, in this challenge you pick a character, a place or an event from one of Magic sets and make a card for it. For an example, this card is about elspeth after she died, and even if it's not perfect, and it shows the phyrexian part, the bant part and the enchantments/theros part of her: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/elspeth-betrayed?list=user#.VXfzZ_mqpHw
additional rules:
- In this challenge, your creatures MUST be legendary, so you can't pick something like "Mirran Rebel" or "Nezumi Assassin".
- You can use phyrexian mana only for cards related to phyrexia, and you can't make a planeswalker with hybrid mana in it's mana cost.
- You may make a legendary creature that is a planeswalker before it's spark ignited, but make it a flip card with a planeswalker side.
You can make as much entries as you want, so feel free to make a cycle of cards or just alot of entries. (But don't spam).
I'm looking forward to seeing your cards and maybe even learning about MTG lore. Good luck and have fun!

This is Sarlena, Paladin of the Northern Verge from the Mood Text of Warhorse, Personal Sanctuary, Wall of Frost, and many others. She protects the Northern Verge from the threat of Everlasting Winter that is being thrust upon the land by a mysterious sorcerer.
from the flavor text of multiple cards in KTK
Yay another Simic lover!

Fall of the Champion - http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/fall-of-the-champion-2?list=user#.VYdzHoJdU8o
The rules say that it needs to be a legendary creature. Otherwise, neat card.
I am seeing that the rules say creatures MUST be legendary. But I didn't make a creature so that doesn't matter to me.
I also see that the rules say I may make a legendary creature that is a planeswalker before it's spark ignited. Again, this is irrelevant because I didn't make a creature.
I just don't see where it says I need to make a creature, or that I cannot make anything other than a creature. Perhaps my reading comprehension is failing me?
Just read it again. Sorry about that!
Thanks for looking out. It's nice to know that some one is trying to preserve the integrity of the challenge by making sure everyone knows the rules.
Cheers!
The Riptide Project was a research project on magic meant to strengthen ties between the Mer Empire and Otaria's surface dwellers. They're best known for reviving the Slivers, causing their own downfall.
Dack Fayden picked a fight with some people, then realized they were wizards too. They soon overpowered Dack and his friend Marsh. Dack's spark ignited when he lay on the ground, smoldering from the fight...

Now Dack has ascended!

An interesting point in MTG lore pictured in a very flavorful and (probably) fun EDH card...Great job!
and 1st place goes to:
@Gelectrode with Edict of Betrayal

The cards effect ist pretty much useless 99% of the time, but it's so in line with the sad course elspeth's life was taking. Also the flavor text's really cool. Very nice, congrats!
Honorable Mentions:
@Animist with Massacre Girl
@Corwinnn with Dance of the Tourach
@MrRansom with Fall of the Champion (also a very cool card for the "Elspeth dies"-Lore)
Please tell me which cards to favorite till the discussion is closed, else I'll just favorite some cards from your collection that I like
Congrats to all winners and thanks to everyone for participating. See you soon!
