Another Large Collaboration Set???
Well, after the finish of Athera and Forgotten Dragons, I noticed that we haven't started a newer collaboration set... Well, I mean yes, I do have my Dragon's Maze set, but I mean NORMAL set. I asked @Corwinnn, and he told me he was too busy to start one. So I have taken the initiative and decided to see if anyone else was interested. I haven't decided anything yet, but let's just use this thread as means to discuss one. Of course, we'll have a normal set format, with the number of cards, but I mean the lore and stuff.
Or maybe it can be a 1/2 a year long team contest with 2 sets...
Anyone interested?
Anyways, the set has started.
From now on, I will just use this as means of communication when planning a new set.

-Dinosaur themed? It could be like:
W - Omnivores, ridden by humans.
U - Marine Reptiles (Elasmosaurus) and Pterosaurs
B - Maybe Dark Dinosaurs?
R - Carnivores, ridden by goblins.
G - Herbivores, ridden by elves.
-My old conspiracy themed? (Artifice of Aristocrats) Pretty much Game of Thrones themed. It would have no magic and lots of people with the subtype Lord.
-Space themed? Not much of an idea on that.
-Remake of Portal Three Kingdoms?
-A nostalgic return to the Dominarian storyline?

If someone would like to join in on one of these, I am certain the people who started them would love the help. Also, I only checked the first couple of pages, so if anyone has a set they want help on, please bump your thread!
XD
@pewnd's set is a contest, not a collaboration.
@TurkeyAsylum's set hasn't even started yet.
@KimJongMartin, Since your the only current set I know, let this be your inspiration!
Forgotten Dragons was mainly just the two of us, with a big contribution by @MrRansom and the folk who entered the challenges. But we did all the heavy work of remaking cards and tweaking them to fit the set, and getting everything organized
Typically, the best way is to have one main guy who has the vision, and then people pitch in. If a card gets made that isn't quite right, you remake it until you get it right.
What @pewnd is doing is the best way as far as I know.
If it's your set, you organize it, you approve everything, if they people making cards don't have the time to keep remaking it, then you remake it. Having multiple people on an account just leads to cards being deleted, or funky cards showing up that shouldn't be in the set, and then you get into why some people dropped off of Athera... too many hands in the pot.
They aren't easy to do, and they take a great bit of time, focus and dedication.
That set actually looks great, but what exactly should we understand? It doesn't say it's a collaboration set.
One 3 people join, we'll start the set.
1) Dominaria.
2) A prehistoric/ancient world.
Tie-Breaker: @Corwinnn, what would you like to see?
xD
What? I'm a notorious procrastinator.
I am still counting the proper numbers.
- The one I did for the pro-team, a lord based world where the peasants revolt.
- A four-color faction world.
- A Dominaria Revisited type world?
- Another Return to Rav?
If anyone wants to help, PM me. I'd like to hear people's opinions on these ideas.
This a good place to put this right @TrippleBoggey3?
I had an idea similar to your Dinosaur theme (something about Aaron Forsythe saying "Dinosaurs don't do anything" really made me want to make a Dinosaur set).
But in addition to dinosaurs, it also incorporated most of prehistory and lost world tropes.
Dinosaurs, giant bugs, carnivorous plants; the overall theme is "eat or be eaten"
Influences for the plane included:
-Natural prehistory: From dinosaurs to the Ice Age to dawn of early man
-Lost world tropes/stories: Land of the Lost, King Kong, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Atlantis, Jumanji, Indiana Jones, etc.
-Mythical Kingdoms: City of Gold, Shangri-La, Congo
Creature types:
Humans/Humanoids:
-Humans
-Elves
-Merfolk
-Viashino
-Naga
Nonsentient creatures:
-Insects, Spiders, Scorpions
-Lizards (this includes Dinosaurs, which I think Oracle changed them to)
-Snakes
-Ooze
-Elephants (as mammoths)
-Rhinos (again, woolly)
-Dragons
-Drakes
-Plants (one region had a "plants & insects mattered" theme)
-Crocodiles
-Cats (of the big teeth variety)
-Wolf (I had a subtheme where some humans & wolves had a tribal feel)
-Many more that could be creative, keeping a prehistoric theme in mind.
I had thought about breaking up the plane into either 10 two-color regions or 5 three-color (ten was almost easier to accommodate everything):
W/U: Snowy plains & ice
W/B: Marshland, everglades
W/R: Himalayan-esque mountain region
W/G: Tundra & timberline
U/B: Swampland
U/R: Volcanic islands - intense tropical storms, more so than usual as of late.
U/G: Amazonian jungle, mangroves
B/R: Tar pits
B/G: Deep of the Jungle - deadly plants & insects, little sunlight
R/G: Jungle valleys and mountains
The storyline would be something along the lines of these "fabled kingdoms of the Multiverse" contained immense sources of power that Planewalkers often tried to take for themselves, if they didn't die in the process.
Would prefer new cast BUT if we really wanted an official character, some good choices would include:
Dack Fayden: Powerful artifacts to steal? Who better than the Multiverse's Indiana Jones?
Garruk Wildspeaker: A perfect place to hide from Jace and plenty of creatures to hunt.
Domri Rade: Like Garruk, a perfect place to roam with wild beasts.
Ral Zarek: The intense lightning storms of the volcanic islands attract him to heighten his magic.
Vraska: The deep jungle provides the perfect hiding spot and protection from unwanted visitors.
