I say, we give @Butters one week to tell us, he is still alive and will judge this. After this week, if he hasn't judged by then, we will judge the entries by ourselves. Therefore, each participant gives each entry a rating (so everybody has to rate 10 cards):
You can give points from 1 to 10 and multiply them with the following indicator:
Artwork:Score x 0,125 How well does it fit in the MTG art; Is the artist's name on the card; etc Balancing:Score x 0,25 Stand alone; Combo potential; etc Mechanics:Score x 0,375 New ideas; exciting in game; fun in game; etc Color-Pie:Score x 0,125 Does it fit well; is it still ok; etc Flavor:Score x 0,125 Do you get an idea about the story of that planeswalker; Do the mechanics fit the name; etc
You post the total score, and the interim results in the comments of the card, and favorite them, if the total score is over 7,5 (or you just like the card).
Here in this contest, you only post the total score. This process shouldn't take more than a week. Then we announce the winner.
Prices should be custom cards for one of the winner's sets, or advanced criticism.
@Tutlaschk, how about we ask another respectable cardsmith to judge this contest? Maybe like @Animist, @Beeswax, or @Strongbelieves? We all know they are the 'No. 1 Cardsmith', so why not ask them what does it take to be good at cardsmithing?
@Tutlaschk The first thing we should do is ask @MTGCardsmith if @Butters was planning to have any physical prizes. Custom cards and advanced criticism, I don't know, just don't seem big enough for a contest like this. I think we should wait a while, like, two weeks minimum for butters to return. I know he has university, so it may just be a very hectic time for him. Assuming he doesn't return, however, I think there should be a panel of judges, made up of experienced members, like @strongbelieves, @Animist and others.
Traditionally we give people two months before reactivating a challenge, because sometimes life throws us things we can't control. If he's at University, then this is about the time classes are resuming, and he could very well be under that workload. Plus, I'm really interested to see who he thinks is the top Cardsmith, like @strongbelieves said.
True. So we should definetely wait at least another 2/3 months. @Corwinnn, @MTGCardsmith do you or @Anyone else know what kind of prizes he was offering for this contest? Were they physical ones?
Hi All..... I am sorry for the confusion and frustration as I have had a direct family member pass away after an incident that happened. Judging was half completed before this occured but as I hope you can all understand, I have been a bit preoccupied. Please be patient as this is now my priority and results will be posted soon.
To answer some questions, Prizes, due to my funds going elsewhere because of recent events, have had to go to non-physical prizes. Again, I am not happy with this but there is not much I can do in this situation.
Once again, I thank you all for your patience as this contest did have a huge build up to it but sadly, won't be the outcome people prefer.
FINALLY RESULTS ARE IN. Remember results will be delayed and posted position by position just to narrow things down. Firstly, I do have the unfortunate job of DQing those who haven't entered. @TrippleBoggey3@thenightbringer
Due to no entry in the final round. No prizes will be given.
8th PLACE is going to......@Tutlaschk Unfortunately, in my mind, this Planeswalker was weak and not worth the mana cost. There are spells and creatures that are cheaper and do the exact same thing.
Prize: 4 favourites on cards of your choice.
Again sorry about the prizes in advanced. Not what i had planned.
7th PLACE is going to... @kltmtg29 This planeswalker was expensive in abilities and personally, I can't see anyone being able to use it's major neg abilities. The idea of the planeswalker, i enjoyed, just needs a bit more thought put into it.
6th Place is.... @dashdo101 Major issue I have with this planeswalker is the wording. The +2 ability is worded incorrectly and therefore, lost points in that area.
Prize 8 favourites of any choice.
AND THEN THERE WERE 5....ANNOUNCED SOON. Going to make you guys wait just a little longer.
6th... I'll take it. I was not actually a big fan of my planeswalker after I made (and entered) it. Also, I don't think you can give out more than 5 favourites.

I wonder what's gonna happen to it.

Who is with me?
Any amendments?

"In terms of PRIZES, they will be well worth it, HOWEVER, they will only be revealed at the top 10 stage."
No, but I mean he might have contacted MTGCardsmith in terms of PHYSICAL prizes, like booster packs.
I've never heard anything about prizes, but that doesn't mean there were or weren't going to be any.
"...the prizes that are allocated to each placement..."
These aren't the prizes your looking for.
