    A Planeswalker's Guide to Dolebria
    Part 1

    The World of Dolebria

Dolebria is a world starved of mana, a world where mages are scarce and battles are frequent. Some areas are completely devoid of mana, and much of the Eastern side of the world is simply a barren, lifeless desert. Because of this, warring factions rule Dolebria, each fighting ferociously trying to gain more territory and resources for its mages, regardless of how many will die in the process.

    Dolebria's Landscape

From the wild flats of Furor to the jungle paradises in the West, the absence of mana in some areas has shaped Dolebria in remarkable ways. While, in the East, one could travel for miles without finding anything but rocks sticking up from the ground like jagged teeth and the occasional war-scarred settlement, the whole of the Wyldbrin Greens is an enormous, jungle, lasting thousands of feet as it tries top spread its tendrils over the rest of the world and infect it with greenery. The center of the world, too, has evolved to co-exist with the great Trumuld Vortex, so mana abundant it threatens to fold up on itself, bringing the rest of the plane with it.

    The Trumuld Vortex

A huge, gaping wormhole in the center of Dolebria, some believe the Trumuld is older than life itself, and that the multiverse was formed around it, while others believe it appeared only centuries ago, revolutionizing the people. Many of the five factions even worship the vortex, believing it to be the origin of all mana, and will one day give the true people it back.

    Magic on Dolebria

Because mana is so rare, mages are even rarer. Sorcerers and masters of the arcane, their spells limited and varying, are sought by all factions, and are renowned almost as gods in society. Gorothian necromancers are savage, lawless beings, coaxing the dead from their graves and resurrecting them to fight for their own benefit; Furor shamans sow order and chaos in the ranks of the orderly, pillaging and raiding as they go; Lanalian strategists are righteous and wish to try and tame the savages and build a new society, killing and detaining if necessary; Tolernian spellcasters will install complete order, slaying those who disobey them; and Inaterian artificers will try and tame the mysterious substance etherui, crafting wonderful creations out of it along the way.

    The Five Factions

Dolebria is ruled by five warring armies, five feuding empires:

    1. Goroth, who are defined by blue, black, red and green sources of mana.
    2. Furor, who are defined by white, red, black and green sources of mana.
    3. Lanalia, who are defined by white, blue, red and green sources of mana.
    4. Tolernia, who are defined by white, blue, black and green sources of mana.
    5. Inater, who are defined by white, blue black and red sources of mana.
