Flickering Veil and more; all my sets and creating a play group

edited March 2017 in Custom Card Sets
Hello everyone!

I'm Slobad55 and even if I'm new in the forums, I've been designing magic cards for quite a while now. Me and my friend have made all these sets during the last two years, and we think they are polished enough to be shown and played. We've play tested them quite extensively and even if it's wrong for me to say it, they are quite fun ;)

The idea behind this is simple: We want to create a play group specifically dedicated to playing custom magic sets (normal magic is welcome too, but the former is the main idea). Right now we have 4 sets ready to play (I will list them below) that add up to a whooping 1131 cards, they are fairly balanced and have pretty interactive mechanics. Of course we want to test them much more, play with you guys and ban or change any cards that are seemly broken.

So as some have pointed out, It'll be better to leave the links here (thank you for the suggestion). The only thing I'm a bit wary of is that I have art from all different places and I don't have artists names. Anyways, here go the links. Aso, I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE ART. ART GOES TO THEIR RESPECTIVE OWNERS, I DO NOT PROFIT FROM THESE.

Now to the sets:

Future Now (291 cards): This is the first set we made and it's probably the one with most rough edges. Gods and Constructs fight for the supremacy of the plane while Shamans try not to perish.

Mythic Cup (235 cards): With a touch of the future sight card style this set explores the boundaries of magic fields such as exile and stack.

Last Age (233 cards): This one and the next one were made between my buddy and me 50/50, I think that's part of the reason is such a great set, in my opinion. If you liked snow cards this is the set for you, also for the token lovers and the players with a touch for the older mechanics.

Flickering Veil (342 cards): This one was a TITANIC work, as you can see. It packs hundreds of cards and it's an omage to Kamigawa. Well, 280 cards are an omage, the other 60 are extra cards for the meta. Expect spirits, arcane spells, lots of legendaries, shrines and much more.

As for now, that is all we have made, including a landpack for chirstmas which comes with many lands and some festive cards to complement all the other sets and give some archetypes a push. We are in the making of a set called Further Sight, which many of you will recognise the pun (Future Sight ^^) We need help with this one, everyone is welcomed to work toe to toe with us in the making of this crazy set. The end goal is to create a set with 37 mechanics or so, for future use or as a test.

So that said, PM me if you wanna get in the play group or just if you wanna help with Further Sight's development. Everyone is welcomed! Also, thank you for reading!

Comments

  • Can I just see the cards please?
Might wanna post a link so everyone can lay their gaze upon them ;)
  • So how exactly do you plan to playtest these sets?
  • Have you thought about remaking the cards here on MTGCardsmith?
  • There are quite a few of the cards that wouldn't be possible to remake on MTGCardsmith, so Slobad55 would only be able to do so for a portion.

It would also be likely difficult to do in large scale since his cards are in image format. Although we aren't sure if there are other backups!
  • This is pretty cool! I'm also curious about how you intend to play this with others. If I recall there's a website and application that allow for use of custom sets, is that the plan? I've always been interested in trying out cards with people.
  • @Red_Tower
Currently that website known as untap.in has been having issues and as such what you're looking for might not be available for the time being!
