Cycle Challenge - Instants
With the third Cycle Challenge having just ended, it's time for the next Cycle Challenge
The Cycle Challenge - INSTANTS!
Like a lot of you, I really love a good cycle of cards. Let's try this out and see how it goes. If people seem to like this, we will continue to have a new challenge each week for the next few weeks or so.
This weeks Cycle Challenge: Instants
Here are the rules...
1. Must be an Instant.
2. CMC and rarity should be consistent.
3. Must have 5 Instants, one of each color, to complete the cycle.
4. Try to fit each one into it's color with both FLAVOR and EFFECT.
Judging will be based on flavor, votes, and comments, as well as playability and balance
The reward for this challenge shall be a TROPHY and a custom card of choice! The top three cycles will be announced.
This challenge will end on July 31st

This is so cool! I like the Tithe effect, making the instant reliant on a spell having to resolve for it to take effect, but then, regardless of the outcome it replenishes itself. Your art choices are as amazing as always, as is your creativity.

I like where you were going with this. The wording is a little off in some places and I would have liked to have seen a little more consistency in the casting cost, but nice job!

I like the Recur keyword you have on this. It might need a little more on the CMC and the rarity, as it can really bring the pain early in a game, but it has some interesting potential.

Another very creative cycle. I like the way everyone is bringing some new ideas to the battlefield! I would reconsider the power level on some of these (red & green for example) as you have potential game changers and potential fizzlers, but the premise you based this on is super fun! This would be a perfect match for @Tomigon's Politik set!

This is a nice cycle. Straight forward, twice the casting ability, and appropriately costed. I'm not a huge fan of the dual mana cost for the flashback. I would have preferred to see it stay simple and mono colored, especially at the uncommon level. Still a nice cycle! (Love the flavor text on Scout)

Talk about the carrot and the stick! I had to take these in a couple of times to really appreciate what you did here. I think the blue one is the weak link of the set, but that's a minor tweak to bring it up to par with the others. This is another cycle that would be a great fit for @Tomigon and the Politik set! If you haven't entered these into his challenge, you should consider it! Nice cycle, love the creativity.

I have to be honest here, I really like these a lot. This feels like something crazy I would make for my Pandemoium Set! A lightning bolt for each color, with an added bonus! What's not to like?

This is a nice cycle. It has some design flaws but those are just aesthetics. I didn't care for the renown effect either.. it felt out of place and disjointed within this set. I definitely feel this has some really cool potential, and with a few tweaks would be Bursting with Fun!
