I'd do the following just to make the damage have to happen first, but still be before the stack. (Has theme and minor mechanical implications.)
"If combat damage is dealt to Verdant Cadaver, add that much {g} to your mana pool. Until the end of your next turn, this mana doesn't empty from your mana pool as steps and phases end."

Zombie?
(Jyagaimo is potato in japanese, literally translated jyagaimasu means 'to potato', it is not a real word).
There has definitely never been a Land Creature Zombie Plains. In fact, MTGCardsmith couldn't really accommodate the design the way I'd hoped, because it defies convention too much-- there is not an option for the typing Land Creature. Should I make the background white?
