How do I counter a card that does nothing but make my creatures green? Anyway, here goes.
https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/shadow-crab Shadow Crab counters Aisling Leprechaun. The crab can be played quite well on its own, but against mono-green Ireland it gets a significant buff from becoming green.
https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/serene-skywhale Serene Skywhale is quite a nice counter for Wealthy Leprechaun. It prevents his gold from doing anything and can be played a turn earlier. It is also useful in other circumstances, it really hoses down a sacrifice deck and completely ruins Consuming Vapours, Blessed Alliance, Smallpox etc.. The whale also has flying, so the leprechauns can't block it.
A counter for Nature-Loving Leprechaun was hard, because he's a counter to artifacts himself. I eventually came up with this.
https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/mind-crab An artifact creature that gives pseudo-hexproof to your artifacts, negating the Nature lovers second ability. Mind Crabs second ability is a bit more complex. Because of the Nature lovers first ability all the other Irish will have protection from mind crab, so its only target is the nature lover itself. It doesn't deal combat damage because protection negates the damage anyway.
@Latinas All starting countries are chosen by the randomizer, you got Poland. It would be good if you posted three defending cards first before starting to conquer.
@Rednaxela would it be at all possible to change the cards that are defending my countries? In particular, if the cards that conquered a country (in this case, Ireland) defend it, any invader would have to make cards to counter cards that were made to counter specific cards, which seems a bit silly.
@modnation675 If you were to attack Ireland, you would have to counter the three cards I made specifically to counter the three leprechauns. How would you counter a card that was made to counter another card so specifically? In some case it would be possible, but in most I think it would be very difficult.
@Brainifyer I can see many ways depending on the cards. But the main issue is that people would otherwise make indestructible defenders/compositions.
Keep in mind I failed last attack because I wanted to play a combination of cards that was as weak as I can, while thinking I'd win. But I'd mistaken how attacks were judged and lost.
@sanjaya666 Just say that you're attacking it and then I will make a certain number of defenders depending on its size. So Slovenia will have two. Then you will have to create one card for each that counteracts the card's effect.
I don't have time right now, but I will make its defense later today.
@modnation675 Yeah, I was thinking about doing that, but never got to it. I'll do that later today too.
@zizick123 Still waiting on @Gelectrode. What you could do is finish your attack on his defense (you only made cards for two of the cards he posted). I'd also suggest attacking another country while you wait for him.

So how does Ireland stand?
Bosnia attacks Italy
@creepybeagle I'll get to work on that.
@modnation675 That's fine.
A group of two Knights from Latvia are attempting to assimilate Estonia into their group of countries.
Faris pulls the enchantment listed below, placing it on Zyrelle! (Unless they attack second.)

Yeah I know it's a stretch.
Remember, you have to deal with the effects of these two cards

I think I get it now. So I'll recommence an attack with the following creatures.
That's the point of the contest.

@Brainifyer I'm going to keep that rule for now, but if it proves too difficult I'll change it.
So, how can I expand now? For example, I want to capture Slovenia. Where are the defending cards?
I don't have time right now, but I will make its defense later today.
@modnation675 Yeah, I was thinking about doing that, but never got to it. I'll do that later today too.
Okay then. I'll wait.
Almost forgot to say it. Ehem, 'I'm attacking Slovenia' yadda yadda...
I am having trouble this week viewing images. Please have the two nearest players battle it out for Hungary. Sorry! -- yours truly
