New planes!

I really love all of the new planes that are planned by wizard to come out, and I think it would be really fun.
I got the Idea from @Midmine with his Senivir plane challenge. So first we need to come up with a name for the plane and the culture(s), main land points and the Type(s) of terrains. After will start on the lore and i'll make a map!
Any Ideas?

    Idea:
    Datune

Cultures: human, goblin (actually look like scaly ever-mutating creatures), ogre/kobold/troll/giant of all types, mysterious beings
Largest Cities: Krata Reys (goblin), Rente (goblin), and P'kotrok (Ogre)

A plane that has extreme gravity, so all creatures are super dense and tough, and humans have been cast out of the goblin/troll/ogre/giant/etc-type society and are treated like wild creatures. Ogre and goblin cities are the most common, but there mutant strange creatures that have even started their own civilizations. The largest portion of the continent is dunes, sandy-dry forests, and river-bed/canyons. There are unlit slot canyons throughout the plane for runaways, even stranger mysterious creatures, and the human species. The goblins are the only species known to use magic.
  • What are the main land points and what is the physical traits of the plane?
  • Aracon

Thousands of years ago, the high elves of Aracon fled to the super plateau of the west and a planeswalker who had mastered working with the Aether split the plain in half. This split, however, was just thin enough that things could see through but not move through. The beautiful and noble high elves cultivated the plateau and made a utopia of farm lands and cities while the savage Badlands on the other side stayed a barbaric anarchy.

In the Hearthland, the good side, the citizens are almost exclusively the white races(Lacking Angels which were too pure to form on Aracon pre-split) like Aven, Leonin, elf, and human. As stated before, This side is mostly flat and dominated by vast fields of beautiful tubular plants we don't have on Earth.

The Badlands are basically the opposite. There are castles of great warlock tyrants scratched into the expansive cliffs and mountains, but those would be the only buildings. The rest is a roil of busted rocks, tattered thickets, and treacherous lakes. The fauna is incredibly diverse hosting drakes, drow, hellhounds, beasts, thoctars, and more!

Designed a small set based on this plane before where a planeswalking Viashino from the bad side began leading raids on the Hearthland.

@zizick123 Great idea but if this goes similarly to the Sinivir challenge your just going to have a mess of unrelated cards. I'd be glad to help this challenge to go well though!
  • @Megalomalice Please! that would be great!

@zizick123 Okay then! I'll do what I can to help! (Just let me know what I can do to help out.)
  • How about a Norse based world!

If people are still up for participating in this post, suggestions on what the set should be would be appreciated. If no suggestions come up, Tigersol's suggestion would definitely work. (Though let's try not to have this post become an argument on what the set should be.)

Norse based 'worlds', because it located in a star system and those worlds are connected by Planar Bridges that can be traversed by living beings. Those bridges were built in the past by the cooperation of humans and dwarves with their aether-powered spacecrafts to travel the space because of their curious nature. It also doesn't stop them to built some more spacecrafts, although they still can't travel faster than the speed of light.

    1. The main star is called Adrasil. (A yellow medium star or whatever color it is it doesn't matter.)

    2. The nearest planet is called Muspelia, because its hot. Yup. Muspelia is inhabited by fire elementals people or something like that because its position that is too close from its main star.

    2. The second planet is called Nidavel and its mainly inhabited by dwarfs. The planet is mountainous with a lot of underground resources and the climate is barren wasteland. But there exists water and many lifeforms that thrive in the underground of that planet.

    3. The third planet is called Alf. The planet itself is mostly covered by lush jungle and forest with warm climate, at the equator. The planet is mostly inhabited by the elves, and many other forest creatures.

    4. The fourth planet is called Middengard (can't think a good name), the homeplanet of humans, and the center hub of that star system.

Note: If you want the story to be at least a little bit plausible, it can be added that the other intelligent races that inhabit the other planet are originated from here, or just scrap this idea.

    5. The fifth and sixth planet are called Vanir and Aesir, the twin planets that are also orbiting each other. Vanir is just a recreational place due to a pact between races in the past, because there lies beautiful meadows and lakes, and also seas, and many other good areas that can be considered as place for relaxations. The native species on Vanir are mostly large sea creatures, but there are also merfolk people too. But on Aesir, there lies many academic centers where magic and technology are more widely researched and practiced. No native species on Aesir because it was just a barren planet, but with many interesting places and resources, and so the people terraformed it a bit and built many research stations that slowly became a ground for researching magic and technology.

    6. The seventh planet is called Nivelia. A foggy place mainly because the wind is too still on this world. But there are only speculations about things that cause such fog because many people were lost and never be found again on that planet. So the Planar Bridge on this planet is largely unused and in state of disrepair.

    7. The eighth planet is called Hel because its just a barren wasteland. But there also lies many underground cave systems albeit the planet is mostly uninhabitable aside from some underground places here and there. There are also rumors about some undead cults that have already taken hold that planet so people are mostly don't want to go there and the state of the Planar Bridge on that planet is also unknown.

    8. The ninth planet is called Jottengard. A frozen planet that mostly just inhabited by elementals. Ice elemental people. And also frost giants and many other frosty things because its too far away from the main star.

    Just my suggestion.
  • I think nine planets is obsessive, but I think that idea is super cool. I vote that!
  • I don't understand the idea of these being separate planets. After all, who'd honestly think a plane of a Barren Wasteland would turn out interesting.

We've proven this many times before, no need to repeat the learning curve.
  • In Norse mythology, the different races all had their different realm. I think mirroring the realms like he did is too much stuff to try designing, but it can make an excuse to have a big variety of stuff in one set and be cool flavor. I'm just one vote behind it, but that's why I like it.
  • I would happily join, but nine planets are going to be excessivly difficult to map, unless each one has general features (only jungle, only ice etc.) and only one or two important locales, if not zero.

As for lore and cards, each submission that is not approved (by zizick123 or a vote) should be systematically removed, else we suffer another Sinivir-like jumble of random stuff. Common creation can prove to be quite the challenge.

Make the planets just small enough and give each just one or two general features. Except for some.

    1. Muspelia is volcanic.

    2. Nidavel is mountainous with underground caves.

    3. Alf is a jungle planet, with some river, lakes, etc. but without the sea.

    4. Middengard is earthlike. Give it some random features here and there with snows on its poles.

    5. Vanir is an archipelago planet. The whole planet consist of islands and seas.

    6. Aesir is consist of plains and mountains. And add some lakes too.

    7. Nivelia is a foggy, mountainous planet.

    8. Hel is a rocky wasteland with a lot of underground cave systems too.

    9. And Jottengard is an icy, mountainous world.
  • @modnation675
    Not everything is barren wasteland.
  • I think adding a few unique aspects to the plane could help make the plane interesting. There could also be the idea of reprints from actual sets. (Such as frost titan.)
  • Maybe one plane, nine kingdoms, each one with different landscapes and people.
  • Alright, alright. Just make only one plane and whatsoever so that it would be much more practical.
  • I think a multiworld plane would be badass and hard to find a place for if not a Norse plane
  • Just make floating lands instead of worlds. But those are separated by distance that is also pretty far away.
  • Here's an idea! So, the world is 9 different planes. In the center is essentially Earth. One the others live gods and giants. Once a child is twelve the gods *test* them. Which is actually just sending them through trauma so their spark ignites (if they have one). These are the Champions of the gods and they go around questing to save folks, yay! Usually only one champion represents a god.
  • And that was a very bad representation of Norse mythology. YAY ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
