Official Contest - Eclipse: Sun vs. Moon - Winners Posted!
We're hosting a summer contest to celebrate the upcoming Solar Eclipse in August. This contest introduces a new gameplay variant to MTG, with special rules and a new Astral Light flip card.
Create a card for either faction, Followers of Helios or Descendants of Luna.
Utilize gameplay effects of Sunlight or Moonlight to provide actions, boosts, or effects for your creatures/spells. You may also choose to create effects for gameplay while under the Eclipse.
Keep mana costs and cards as realistic as possible in this format. You may not interact or change the pace of Astral Light in the game with your cards.
You may only enter one card, so choose your faction well. Cards may be directly edited on the submission URL until the final day of the contest, but you cannot re-post/enter more than once.
A new Eclipse set symbol has been released just for this contest. Participants will also earn a unique profile avatar from their faction for their support!

Eclipse: occurs when any player reaches 10 remaining life. After this point in the game both Sunlight and Moonlight abilities are active simultaneously for the remainder of the game. As the damage resolves, Eclipse occurs, but only after the damage has already been dealt. If a players life total increases over 10, Eclipse has already been triggered and stays in effect (until the game ends).
Game Start: Flip a coin to determine which Astral Light will begin on the board - Heads for Helios, Tails for Luna. Astral Light cards do not exist under any players control, but rather as part of the global game state.
also are we allowed to edit entries?
May you post more detailed rules for the eclipse mechanic. We're interested but aren't familiar with the details.
For example, which does the game start with?
It would also be nice if you make sure to post the artists on those cards to promote others to do so.
@SpiritDragon, All cards will be judged together.
I admit, that was the first thing I though of when I saw the contest!
Am I the first?
...or just posting in the wrong place...
(Fun fact: "Haloc" is "Sun" in German, and "Mesec" is "Moon" in Serbian.)

In making this card I redid the art in the Luna user photo.
Also Third Entry
(and Menulis is Lithuanian for moon)

@mtgcardsmith err...is my entry missing on the contest page?
Anyway, Midnight Masquerade is a way to do the Cinderella story with these effects. As the ball begins (during the day), Cindy arrives to the ball in disguise, but when the day dawns her true self is revealed. The possibility of cheating big creatures in for cheap is countered by the window of vulnerability; your opponent has a full turn (and perhaps two, depending on where you cast it in the cycle) to kill your Manifest or to destroy Midnight Masquerade.
And here's my entry. It also won't fit in any followers of Helios or in any descendants of Luna anyway.
Speed up the eclipse, bois!
Descendants of Luna!
It eclipses a color and stops it from doing anything.

This is for helios. Hope its not overpowered.
Being a vampire, Sevel Bodd is obviously a Descendant of Luna.

Believe it or not, it IS actually a flip card...I was wondering if this was the right kind of abilities and such.
