(Don't know if Sunlight+Moonlight is legal, but I can't be chosen anyway. May I have the fancy avatar please?:)
Oh, and tip for future smiths: A cool triggered ability I was toying with was worded "Whenever Helios rises, [effect]." A lot of room here to play around with both Helios rises and Luna rises triggers!
This is my entry for the challenge. I'm thinking of making a whole set of non-basic snow-covered lands dealing with the moonlight mechanic Edit: I decided to outright change my submission. Do not count my previous entry as valid, for this is the card I want the world to see.
I decided to still create 5 non-basic snow-covered lands, but I gave them an additional sub-type (check the comments section when looking at Dusk-Trodden Mountain.). This does not mean they will be part of the contest. Here is the set: https://mtgcardsmith.com/user/MonkeyPirate2002/sets/22800
[Entry Edited x2] Finally getting back to making cards! This is my entry, for Helios-
Zhulong is a Chinese sun dragon diety, who would make day when he opened his eyes, and when he closed them night would come, and so I thought I would play around with the god mechanic as well as the new sunlight stuff. I think its quite balanced (5 mana for a every 2 turns 5/5 flyer that anthems your team until eclipse), but I appreciate any feedback on it. Also I like it flavor-wise, with him not being able to attack or block at night because his eyes are closed.
EDIT: Changed the sunlight ability so that it's trigger is explained a la @modnation675's suggestion.
EDIT EDIT: Edited original url, and made it just a +2/+0 anthem to balance the card a tad better.
@mtgcardsmith, @Corwinnn I'm not sure about this in regards to the ruling of the contest. But eclipse is supposed to make Sunlight always active, so I'm not sure how that interacts with triggered abilities compared to static abilities. (Nothing states that Sunlight abilities aren't active normally, which is confusing if someone just stumbles upon the card!)
I also think that Sunlight abilities should have a clause for if Sunlight is active rather than saying nothing.
(All comments regarding Sunlight apply to Moonlight as well!)
Edited my entry so that it uses state of the art wording and no longer gives your opponent a creature. It's now a weird mono-blue takklemaggot variant. Totally not a "descendant", but I could see it being a magic cast by a descendant.

It's very flavorful because it does nothing during the day but becomes very powerful at night. It also uses two of the mechanics from Helios/Luna.
You can edit your entry up until the deadline for the contest. Just make sure to update the links/images for the card!

They have to manually give the avatars, so be patient.
