King Cube cards

So King Cube (Which is my name for it, it also goes by Big Deck.) is a format where you get around 500-600 cards (Depending on preference, the number must be divisible by 5) and each player plays from the same deck of cards, which is split into 5 decks and any spell in your hand may be played as a land.

For instance, if you play a blue card as a land, it taps for U and counts as an island. If you play a multi color card as a land, it comes in tapped and counts as a nonbasic.

I'm looking to make cards that impact the decks separately or something that can be only achieved with the King Cube rulings. Since the cube is split into 5 decks, it could be something such as taking the top of one deck, putting it on another deck, or shuffling them around in any way desired.

To start off I've made an example card -

Looking forward to if anyone comes up with cool ideas. If you want to hear more about King Cube, here are some videos by Clonehead explaining how it works, as well as gameplay videos.

- The latest play.

P.S. My cube isn't as powered as theirs so some power level restriction is in order.

P.P.S. It would be appreciated if the cards created have the Eclipse set symbol, so that all the cards in the cube related to it have the same set symbol.

I forgot about the set symbol. I hope you like it anyways.
  • @TenebrisNemo Thanks for the card, left a comment in the post. Heres hoping this thread catches on because I think it has major potential for amazing card designs like this.
  • Woah, didn't realize this challenge was going on. I'll have to join in later.
  • @modnation675 glad to hear it's catching on, I thought it would just drift to the bottom of the thread list X3.

Now that I think about it, maybe there could be a cycle of double colored 4 mana creatures that reveal or effect the top?

    @Emeraldragon17
Yeah, I'm working on some ideas. But it's challenging since I'm used to just Commander or Modern games.

Managed to think up a black card for the 4 drop cycle, unsure of if it's too powerful, but I think it's interesting.

This is a card I think would be interesting for the format, or interesting in general. Debated between making the deck flip or shuffle, and went with the flip.

This is a really interesting format.
  • @ArbitraryPlaneswalker Glad to see people like it, I posted a comment on your card before you deleted it. If you want me to PM you the recommendations I made I can. It was a cool twist on a design for the format.

Edit: I forgot about the set symbol again. Whoops!
  • I also decided to remake this card:

starting to round out the possible uncommon cycle, trying to figure out if these are too powerful.
  • I would have liked to make the card with the Eclipse symbol, but as I found out halfway during design, it would work nicely in another of my sets. Enjoy!

Glad to see the thread isn't getting that buried, I suppose here on out the cards will work so long as they have a symbol that isn't any actual magic set symbol, any of the alternatives including the card-smith logo would work.

Not sure if this is flavorful for Jund, but I like the implication of this card regardless. Might end up being Grixis or Dimir.
