It can be. However, you tend to lack space and not be able to do complete designs in those cases.
Only recommendation is to have the back of the card be the representation of the Planeswalker token. Then just refer to that for efficiency. (Otherwise, it's less adaptable and is awkward to demonstrate.)

Amy thoughts on my new card? I was trying to make a game changer card lol
My new Liliana plus the token. I'm working on a witchcraft themed set of planeswalkers and this is one of them.
I wanted to keep the idea of Liliana bringing darkness to the world (Via turning lands into swamps) but any balancing/ideas would be appreciated.
Thoughts aside, I do like the ideas of Black being swamp-themed, and I appreciate this new take on Liliana. Maybe tick up the loyalty a bit?

I'm mostly worried about the cost on this one. At its best, it's an indestructible 1/1 deathtoucher. At its worst, it's a 1/1. I dont know if the ceiling pushes the floor enough to make 1WB fair, or if just WB would be better.

I'm not sure if the buildup is worth the payoff here. I want the effect to be symmetrical, but I'm not sure how to keep it from feeling too weak.

Something similar to the following might be advantageous to making the card strong. As well as fixes minor issues.

Reach; prowess (Whenever you cast a noncreature spell, this creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn.)
As long as you control three or more creatures that share a creature type, creature spells you cast cost {1} less to cast.
