To bump the post, and to provide more angels for people to see (because there can never be enough angels in my opinion), here are a couple more. One is an angel who wants you to keep fighting to the bitter or glorious end (and is named for a character from the anime Claymore, which is whom the art is of). The second is an angel who wants you to give in to corruption and become one with the whole. Both have abilities based on counters.
Also, I want more submissions! Make my life harder when it comes time for me to judge! XD
To those who have submitted numerous entries, I will not cut off the number of submissions, but I will be going through and selecting my favorite of your submitted cards to judge against other creators, not all of them as a whole.
@Lastjustice - The only thing I'm uncertain of is the fact Spirit of Light's ability can be used if you don't already have one out. Notice that with Urborg Panther, it isn't legendary, and the card needs to be on the battlefield to use the ability to get you another copy of the card. I feel like the same should be true for Spirit of the Light. I'm not sure how you could use that ability on an opponent when they have no reference to even know you can d the ability. As to the Massacre Angel, I love the flavor text on that one.
@DoctorFro - That's basically an anti-angel of sorts. Interesting. Essentially, angels become demons when they die. It would command an angel/demon EDH deck with numerous buffs to demons I assume?
@Zephyr6066 - A very powerful angel with a very high cost. Using others to keep itself alive is a dark mechanic (hence the black mana, lol).
Yeah I am aware, I suppose I just would need make a special minion to do that mechanic, but I for the purposes of this thread I just was looking post the concept as a whole. I figured you could announce it, and show your deck list to a judge if it was an issue.
As for the flavor text, I would love take full credit, but I drew inspiration from a very old quote on another magic card. Soul Rend http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=3313 I laughed when I read it back in the day, so it always stuck with me funny in a screwed up way someone could come to that answer.
@RayearthIX. Yup thats also why i made Arael so high cost. plus the keywords. the idea is this is the paragon of what an angel should be (hence angel incarnation) and once it dies, some new angel will step into his place to become a new angel paragon.
Two more angel related cards. The first is for the Flavor text challenge currently ongoing, and the second is another card centered on Sephina, who is losing her way on the plane of Ravnica.
As a friendly reminder, this contest closes in 11 days (which is Christmas, so I hope you're keeping up with your gifts! lol).
Balanced her ability by making it only whenever a creature is destroyed by combat, so that you can't simply sacrifice a creature to get a potential board-wipe, as well as making her power fairly low compared to her casting cost.
@Valoth - That's fine. Spam away. Valkyrie Cavalry made me laugh because it has flanking. Also, shouldn't the language be "Destroyed in combat", not "Destroyed by combat?"
Here is a Valkyrie I made previously (since you just shared so many Norse angels). Note that we chose the same MTG axe/shield symbol for our Valkyries! XD
This card is built on the concept of Angels being souls of the righteous that have ascended when they die. This card contrasts Demons hurting both their controller and their opponents by showing mercy to all.

... really? XD Why isn't it an Angel Mutant Turtle... maybe a ninja too! (so add ninjutsu!) XD
Fun idea!

The original card I am mirroring is http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=3315 (only posting Angel images here. I gave this card all it's abilities with minor tweaks, including it's ablity to be searched out by sacing certain creatures. I picked far better ones, as the guys you need play do that for Spirit of the Night weren't worth playing on their own. http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=3319
Edit. I was being lazy, so I needed to fix this properly.
Here's the other piece of the puzzle done right.

@Lastjustice - Makes a lot more sense now!
I dunno, I just found it a while back.

@Valoth - I look forward to seeing what you do! You're demons I know are fun.

Another Valkyrie, fits along the lines of what Valkyries did in the Norse mythos, seems to me would be great in an Athreos deck.
Sorry for pretty much spamming, but a few more Valkyries
