  • @Shadow123 - because you asked, if you submit an entry tomorrow, I'll accept it.

The contest will officially close when I wake up tomorrow morning, but technically it closes in 25 minutes.

Sorry for the late entries, but simply had to put an equipment in here. Both entries are centred around the allure of angels' harps (and hence gaining control). I love cards that fuel themselves, and hence the abilities on the first one (also, this fulfils several players' wishes for a red-white Dragon and a Dragon Angel all in one fell swoop).
  • @RayearthIX thank you so much!

  • This contest is now closed. If anyone wants to keep posting angels here (cause Angels are freaking awesome!), then feel free. I will post the result by the end of the week.

    Thank you all who entered!

Here are the final results for this challenge! If you were selected, please PM me with what cards you'd like me to favorite (or if you want me to pick my own). Cards I selected have already been favorited, and 1st and 2nd place have already been followed. This was very tough, as I narrowed it down to 15 cards by 11 creators... and then had more difficulty narrowing it down further. I will be going back through to favorite some others, and follow some of you anyway (because I loved the cards entered, even if they weren't chosen).

Congratulations to the winners, and again, thank you to all who entered my contest and helped build a truly Heavenly Host of angels and related cards. Feel free to keep using this thread to post more angels if you want to.

    Honorable Mentions:

@Tomigon - A heavenly turtle that just makes me laugh. Great fun card.
    image

@Zephyer6066 - A fallen angel for sure, for no true angel sacrifices others for their own sake.
    image

@Valoth - A Valkyrie shepherds the fallen warriors to Valhalla, and sings their praises for eternity. The options this card presents, and the way it works, screams Valkyrie to me, and I approve.

    Third Place:

@Lastjustice - The aid of an angel can be a miracle, and the thought of putting Miracle on a creature, specifically an angel, just fits.
    image

    Second Place:

@Jonteman93 - This card perfectly encapsulates its name by providing strength and protection to those in need of aid, while also preparing for the arrival of an angel.

    First Place:

@TenebrisNemo - An angel fights to protect others, possibly even at their own peril. Lilibeth sacrifices herself to give others the strength they need to fight, and that is exactly what an angel should be. Combine that with the flavor text showing her desire to protect everyone, even against the mandates of God... love it.

  • Thanks for hosting this heavenly challenge!
  • Congrats to all the winners and mentionables!!
  • Congratulations to other winners and honorable mentions! Thank you for this contest, @RayearthIX!

I know this is a closed contest, but I love angels as well so I wanted to add to it (wish I would have known of this contest sooner):

This was created for the "The price of carddom" contest by @Aryanf
  • I know this doesn't fit the contest except for, well, it's freakin' Avacyn, but that's also WHY I wanted to share it, because I love Avacyn, and if Sorin can create her, then 'unmake' her, why can't he create her again? So that's where this card's idea came from:

This one wasn't created for any contest, I just wanted to create a cool angel:

This card was influenced by fallen angel being a monoblack angel, there just isn't enough monoblack angels:

I made this card almost a year ago, It's quite powerful, it should have been made at least a rare, but I was really new to making cards at that time:

  • Thanks for sharing @Sorinjace - Really like the Necrosis Angel. Is Royo named such because it's the artists name? (Luis Royo)
  • edited January 2018
Yes, I do that quite often to help credit the artists name on the card(s) I create. (Off subject, I am thinking about using some of my own art for cards in the near future, I made one so far of my own art). The cards name is mythical clique. The original piece is done in charcoal and it was done on poster size paper (bigger than notebook paper I can't remember the exact sizing. I lost that artwork years ago)
