3rd and final entry (unless I withdraw it). I'm aware that kicker and convoke have been printed on some Kavu card, but would multikicker also count as kicker?
@KalamMekhar this card is completely fine, as Kavu Primarch was printed in Future Sight, and therefore doesn't count towards what ability combinations you can or can't use.
Madness and cycling? Too easy. Madness and Grandeur is where it's at! (Notice that if you cast it for madness when you grandeur it, it will be sacrificed due to being legendary. This triggers the top ability, which in turn triggers the grandeur ability you just activated.)
You guys have no idea how long I spent going through all the non-evergreen mechanics, reading through each one and making a huge excel document with tables on which combo with others as well as their colour synchronisations... well here it is in practice
Umbra are the names of the "totem spirit" animals (they're all enchantments) that give creatures totem armour. I tried to put some flavour on this thing, but I like reminder text so here it is anyway: the starborn umbra is forged directly by the sun god, Heliod and is sent to personally protect those doing his bidding... or it can just stand there and take a few hit early on if need be.
I joined MTG around Origins; so when people go on about the guilds, I'm usually lost. After doing a bit of research into grafting and simic: animal experiments, blue DNA goo and good guy reformation. This card is a simple throwback from the new to the old simic guilds.Nasty if you let it do it's stuff but easily spell killable.
I usually don't dabble with legendary mythics, but I think the nature of this card requires it to have that "I'm mythic 'cos I'm strong af" feel. The idea stemmed from the fact you can kind of do a self wipe with devour and that get a bonus from exalt for a creature being by itself. The wording for the reduced casting cost with exalted is a bit weird as multiple instance of exalted on a single card do stack, so I had to try avoid that by using an "X" reduction cost rather than: "cost 1 less... for each creature devoured"; this is because I only want newly cast creature to have exalted after this card does the self wipe. Please comment on the card or message me if you think this card can be improved (balanced) in any way, thanks .
Edit; Needed some fixes because I'm an idiot. It really wants to be monocolored hybrid for all the costs rather than phyrexian. (Phyrexian mana really makes it too powerful). But, work with the tools you have.
here is a bouncing(payed ability) Fateful Hour'ed Detaining hurtful Slime Dragon. the detain and bounce are blue. fateful is a secondary green and... lifeloss is black NO PIE BREAK. PIE SMASH!!!!!

and I Know
COLOR
PIE
BREAK.
It just fits the card in my eyes, I mean FH is 5 or less: DO SOMETHING BIG.
Fading + Proliferate
Skulk + Persist

"A choice between bad and worse is no choice at all."
My entry, hope you like it

Replaced with a significant flavor increase (and smaller power bump).

Ohhhh... Starved Child is VERY CLEVER. I didn't know you could do -1/-1 as a starting p/t.
Yeah I could make it 0/0 and say tribute 1, but then it doesn't die if you have an effect like "creatures you control get +1/+1"
