  • @HeroKP I'm a little confused on what you want us to actually make. Do we just make some cool card or do we make something about exploring the sea or something else?
  • edited March 2020
    @Daedalus_The_All_Father

    Both, this is meant to be a Combative AND Exploratory challenge, so you don't have a limit on cards, you will be fighting each other and making efforts to find the artifact, the winner will be declared when the deadline is reached and we determine who won more
  • @EnvyReaper Okay, thank you for the clarification.

    The Lost have people from all places. Lorcane's people shunned him because he was different, he lived as a complete outcast for years before becoming Lost. He has sworn to protect those who took him in and do anything if it means ensuring his new family survives. Judiel felt the presence of something ancient and powerful held beneath the waves so Lorcane has been tasked with finding it. Feeling at home in the water, he is the perfect choice for the task.

    There, at a depth to which divers would find it difficult to descend, are caverns, haunts, and dusky mazes, where monstrous creatures multiply and destroy each other. Huge crabs devour fish and are devoured in their turn. Hideous shapes of living things, not created to be seen by human eyes wander in this twilight. Vague forms of antennae, tentacles, fins, open jaws, scales, and claws, float about there, quivering, growing larger, or decomposing and perishing in the gloom, while horrible swarms of swimming things prowl about seeking their prey.

    To gaze into the depths of the sea is, in the imagination, like beholding the vast unknown, and from its most terrible point of view. The submarine gulf is analogous to the realm of night and dreams. There also is sleep, unconsciousness, or at least apparent unconsciousness, of creation. There in the awful silence and darkness, the rude first forms of life, phantomlike, demoniacal, pursue their horrible instincts.

    "There's something out there. I can feel it."
    Chalia stares across the sea. "There's something in the depths of the waters."
    It pulls on all of us, Terlu, Chalia's dragon replies. The oceans stir.
    "Get Ezorael. I believe we must retrieve it, but I wish for his consent first."

    ...

    "The siege has started, Sir!"
    Elhark gives a salute to Ezorael as he and Nekrekkar land.
    "At ease, soldier," he says with an eyeroll. "Would you please stop doing that every time I enter your field of view?"
    "Sir yes sir!"
    "Anyway, you mentioned the siege?"
    "Yes sir! Our attackers have reached Dalaran."
    "Send some reinforcements. I wish to have this whole ordeal over with soon. Push back on the borders, too. Make sure the troops are well suited against shifting land and stormy weather. And watch out for the Acrean assassins. We've caught three humans in green hoods wielding venomous knives just yesterday. I think two of them nicked themselves shortly beforehand."

    "And the third, sir?"
    "Myrdin's got him, but he'll be here soon."
    A dragon flies in.
    Rider, there's something in the water.
    "And Chalia wishes to retrieve it, I presume? Well, she's better got a good solution for it, as none of us can swim to the sea bed."
    I believe so. Follow me.

    ...

    "You think this will work?"
    Ezorael sits down with Chalia to discuss her plan.
    "I believe so," Chalia replies. "I am able to call beasts of all shapes and sizes. How would a creature of the deep be any different?"
    "Very well. Call some beasts to search the waters for us. We have more than enough food to reward them for their services."

    (Entry)

    Chalia soon calls krakens, squids, schools of fish, to find the artifact in exchange for food and supplies.

    Judiel uses a variety of ways to locate relics, power spots, and other things or places of interest. Divination is just one such method.

  • @HeroKP, I have updated my Depths Unknown entry. Please actually click on the card for viewing.

    Syr Edgar tossed in his bed as fevered visions assailed his brain, with a jolt he woke up in a cold sweat. This had been the fifth night this week he had been assaulted by these dreams. He stood up and got dressed quickly making sure to grab his mask. He ran to his lab where he found a work bench and started drawing, he had seen the same thing in all of his dreams. A strange artifact calling him to the sea, to power. A figure appeared at the door, “Dreams again?” Rima stepped into the room.

    “Yes” Edgar didn’t look up from his drawings

    ”You should really get some rest, you need to be at your best for the meeting tomorrow”

    “I wouldn’t worry about it, the meeting tomorrow is going to be - fast” Rima smiled under her mask

    “Already? Are you sure?” Edgar looked at his drawing, the dreams were more than just fever visions. They were real and they promised him power, but only if he was willing to take it for himself.

    ”Under Tybalt’s leader ship we will be driven into the ground, I’m not about to let that happen”

    “Meadra is at the Eldrakken research station. Shouldn’t we wait for her return?”

    ”Tell our spy there to sabotage her ship, it will be best if Meadra never made it back, the others will be easy”
    ______________________________________________________________________________________

    It was a cold day, the flying city of Sandir was currently hovering over one of the mountain peaks of Mystik. Syr Tybalt pulled his cloak over his shoulder as he ascended to the meeting chamber. He was tired from the constant problems that had to be dealt with, the Faetherlings had been all but destroyed but with that came there new issue of slowed expansion. He looked at his cellpod (Endorsans version of a phone) a message had arrived from Meadra -Just taken off, the research station is in top shape. I will be returning with a full report-. Tybalt felt a weight lift from his shoulders, at least something had finally gone right. With that he arrived at the meeting chamber.

    Tybalt swung the doors open, he stepped in Syr Edgar and Gars had already arrived. “Meadra has taken off, she will be arriving soon” he walked over to his seat “Gars any news from the war against the Acreans?” Gars pulled a map of the Eldrakken’s island up.

    ”It’s going well at the moment, the elves have pushed the Acreans back at the moment but it’s constantly changing. I would propose having some of our artificers begin to develop a way to nullify their land magic”

    ”Won’t that be hard with our technology though? We aren’t exactly as magically adept as other nations”

    ”The hope is that-“ Gars was interrupted by a cellpod ringing. Tybalt sighed,

    ”Sorry I forgot to turn silent mode on” he pulled it out “Meadra is calling sorry Syr Gars let me get this” he picked up the call “Make it quick I’m in a meeting”. Tybalt couldn’t here a voice though there was just an loud crackling sound, then some one called out

    “Sa....e.....going.....wn”.

    “What? Meadra?” Tybalt was worried now, there was an explosion on the phone then a gunshot. But the shot didn't come from the cellpod, Tybat looked up, Syr Gars had crumpled to the floor, across from him Edgar held an aether blaster, "What do you think your doing!" Syr Tybal grabbed for his gun but it was to late he felt an aether laser hit him, he fell to the floor on his knees, vision going blurry.

    (Lore card)

    "What it takes to survive." Edgar calmly said "Goodbye Tybalt" Syr Tybalt's vision went black as a second blast fired of.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________

    Edgar calmly sat looking out over the city from the windows of what was once the council's chamber. Rima walked in "The bodies have been disposed of by the other inquisitors, we found what was left of Meadra's ship as well. You are the only surviving member of the council!"

    (This is a lore card)

    "Inform the council of their deaths, tell them it was a freak accident caused by the Featherlings. Don't let word escape the city either before we have time to control the rumors." Edgar looked out from the window again, the city had moved from the mountains to a spot over the ocean, he could feel it, something was calling him the the depths. Something was pulling him down their, he had taken some power of Sandir and the Sovereignty's armies for himself but now he wanted more of it.

    (This is my entry)

    (Syr Edgar has all of the Sovereignty's submarines and scouts begin to explore the ocean in order to find the artifact)

    Ariad: Seems like we underestimated the Endorsan's help, at this rate the Eldrakken forces will reach Dalaran soon.
    Anthea: Indeed, it does not matter, we have defeated their main forces at our border, have them advance and take over their land, have our archons and observers oversee the sea and skyes, capture all the citysens, let not a single one escape.
    Anthea: As for the incoming forces I have a plan.
    Ariad: What is it?
    Anthea: They're foolish enough to threaten our city without weakening our defenses first, they'll pay the price for that by their own hand, we'll just make sure they do it quicker, dont move the city, let them come, and once they do let two or three of their dragons in before raising a barrier, that will weaken their foces, our mages and guards will take care of those few with ease, and even if a problem arises I could take care of it myself.
    Ariad: And what about the ones outside?
    Anthea: Your barrier will keep them out long enough for our outer defenses to take care of the rest themselves.
    Ariad: Understood, I'll have all the soulmages gather as much energy as possible and I'll evacuate the citysens to secure areas.

    The Eldrakkens come, three of their dragons land into the city before an immense barrier of sparkling energy covers it, causing two other dragons to crash into it, upon contact an electric discharge runs through their bodies causing them pain, one of them falls to the ground before raising back up, and the other flyes back disoriented.
    <a href="https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/mass-soul-barrier-1"><img src="https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/complete/full/2020/3/8/1583684667888089.png" width="35%"></img></a>
    The dragons within look at the barrier, realising it was a trap one of them looks at the city streets, seemingly desolate he's about to tell his companions of his worries before an elemental almost as big as his head lands between his eyes, knocking him out cold before fire begins to spread.
    <a href="https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/flaming-cityguard"><img src="https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/complete/full/2020/3/8/1583687931117966.png" width="35%"></img></a>
    The construct that was in the dragon's back takes aim at the elemental soldier but it was too quick, it jumped at it and crushed it with his hands, hot molten metal splashing into the body of the dragon, the other two begin to attack just when more soldiers jump from the buildings above.
    While the dragons that hit the wall outside recover a giant tendril made of roots and soil strikes one of the others down, crushing her against the ground, as the dragons react another one takes down a different dragon.
    <a href="https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/fending-titan"><img src="https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/complete/full/2020/3/8/1583683603078737.png" width="35%"></img></a>
    From what seemed like mountains two titanic elementals, just a bit bigger than the city itself rise. (see also the waking titan card I sent as one of my first cards haha)
    As the dragons change their formation to fight the beasts a group of weathermages that were hiding in the foliage beneath the city release a spell that they've been casting just in preparation for this moment.
    <a href="https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/lightning-tornado"><img src="https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/complete/full/2020/3/8/1583688787826710.png" width="35%"></img></a>
    With a strike of lightning a gigantic tornado, taller than the two elementals combined rises above the clouds, sucking the dragons in, as lightning shoots out in all directions, burning the dragons and shorcutting the constructs, it's magnetic field disrupting their shields.
    The dragons withing the city cannot see outside but they can hear the rumbling of the land and the roaring of the skyes, in desperation one of the dragons tries to set fight but as he does he sees a nymph raise her hand in the distance, before he can realise it, with the closing of the nymph's hand a wave of pressure hits his body crushing his lungs, the dragon coughs blood as he plummets to the street below.
    <a href="https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/crushing-force-2"><img src="https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/complete/full/2020/3/8/1583687538004238.png" width="35%"></img></a>
    Anthea: This is my domain, and you shall not defy me here.

    (for some reason the thing to show images doesnt show em, also I'm bout to make the card for the challenge part haha)

    There is a new way of doing images. You click the painting-looking thing on the editor, and paste the image address, like this:

  • oka, I'll try

  • edited March 2020
    is there a way to do it so that it links to the page like before?

    If I do the html symbol thing it's all besides eachother, cant have more than one paragraph

  • I don't think so.
  • I have my card done, but the image isn’t working right. I can’t copy/paste the design link.

  • edited March 2020
    @Xero0 Go into HTML view (shone as </>) to add HTML code. Warning: If you wish to resize it, don't go back into the normal editor, as it deletes percentages.

    *cracks knuckles* It's time to.

    @HeroKP The image in your challenge post is down by the way.

    (I thought that exploring alternative crew costs and creature types attached to Vehicles would be fun. I don't like Tribal as a card type, so I didn't include it and personally think Vehicles should enjoy the having creature types without the Tribal card type.)

    Flair is determined. He will locate the undersea artifact, no matter the cost. He will raze the world in his path to find it, no matter the victims. He will annihilate all in his way, no matter the risk.

    Destruction is all that is known to the Knights. False findings will be incinerated on the spot (even those that could be useful pieces in the puzzle), and they will not hesitate to work to take others down with them. Only through hasty, almost irrational choices will the Knights find what they seek. It may cost them in the short-term, but it prevents potential distraction and infatuation with anything other than their goal, and ideally slows others that may be seeking the same goal.

    Yes, the destruction of other potentially found clues is a direct and intentional act of aggression toward other settlers—whichever ones may get in their way.

    (Click the image for a copy of the card without a border break.)

    image

    With the might of their newly crafted vessel fueling their morale, the Knights move to take over what they can. Worst-case scenario is they just use the sheer power of the Seeker to shove their victims competitors out of the way. They don't exactly have a shortage of ammunition, what with the useless treasures they find along their exploration and siege.

  • Erm, my tablet’s having a rough time.
  • ThatOneCat the editor changed. If you head to the "</>" at the top, you can go into HTML editing.
  • As a minor note, Ured is going to be "errata'd" to say "Whenever you crew ~ for the first time each turn, ..." because that makes more sense. Just can't edit posts beyond an hour now.
  • edited March 2020
    So, does this work? EDIT: that was huge
  • There we go. Lore may be coming soon.

  • okay so, this are the cards for quick reference, since I cant edit the post anymore and I have not figured out how to upload em well lmao, gonna upload the challenge one in a bit haha (also forgot to mention the ships crushing against eachother cause of the tornado and being crashed by the elementals haha)
  • WE HAVE JUDGED! And here is our situation.

    -------------------------------

    @Stryk3r

    You send your agents into the sea. And as formidable as they are, they are tainted by a righteous magic. To you, it is a holy harmony, but the subtle sea does not see it as so. Your influence grows ever stronger, but you cannot satisfy your hunger for the Object.

    -------------------------------

    @Xero0

    Your shields do well. With a calm light they probe the waters. And while the light lets you extract much knowledge from the ocean, the Object is buried much deeper in the waters.

    -------------------------------

    @spookoops

    You start to journey to the deep. As you descend further and further, you feel yourself closer to the mystery. In the abyss of the ocean floor, you feel closer than ever. Yet still so very far. You learn many arcane secrets there, which shall be of no doubt useful for you, but the Object was not there.

    -------------------------------

    @ThatOneCat

    You act with royal ire. Since the king's domain is everywhere, you are convinced you are looking for what is rightfully yours. A helpful mentality. Your clever construction catches residue power from the Object, which fuels your industry... but the object itself is still nowhere to be seen.

    -------------------------------

    @Daedalus_The_All_Father

    Your machine spins. It points you out location after location. And in time you come to each of them. Some contain powerful artifacts. But while they are all alluring and powerful, none of them are the Object.

    -------------------------------

    @IzItTru

    You come very, very close... The turbulence of your government is like the turbulence of the waves. The ocean likes that. So when you dived, the currents carried all to a small cove. There, inside, was a magical sphere. When you touched it, you thought it was the object. But then you realised it wasn't. The object is still a great power, and you use it for your purpose. A very nefarious purpose which shall be soon revealed. However, the Object was not to the right of you, the left, the top, bottom, forth or back. It was onward, on a certain fourth axis.

    -------------------------------

    @SammySammyson

    An axis which you have managed to breach. With such devotion, with such fiery opposition the ocean could not resist. The Seeker broke the waves, for a brief moment it broke time, and for a slightly less brief moment it broke space. And there, in the astral plane of Water, you saw the Object, and you grabbed it. The second you touched it, you gained the strength of another nation. A nation which, in that instant, died.

    -------------------------------

    The bloodiest battle in the history of Mystik yet breaks out in the southwest. The Acreans are victorious! They are about to win the war! When suddenly, the sky goes gray. They lose their holy mandate. The warriors surrender.

    And drawn by a holy force, the people of @Xero0 are compelled to leave.

    Thank you for coming along, and thank you for igniting this series's entire story with your crusade. Every season it gets harder to find people to eliminate, because you are all so key to the feel of the show. However, this is a game, a game with a winner, and in a close-up, you are more of a winner than some, and less than a winner than others. It is time to shed your feathers, secure the Holy Hand Grenade with bubble wrap and HEAD HOME!

    But not all is well on Mystik. Just as one war lingers and ends, another begins!
    (Look at the top right corner, if you will)
    With a change in the Endorsan Sovereignty's government, its foreign policy also changes. And, (in a secret PM), they have informed me that they are thirsty for somebody else's lake yet more land!
    THE ZEALOTS OF EKISHA ARE UNDER ATTACK!

  • But they are probably not the only ones to come under attack soon. Now that we have had our scuba-diving and spelunking fun, it's time to wake up and face the cold light of day. There is no more land. Either you have to get REALLY creative with your land acquisition techniques, or you will have to declare war. The choice is yours to make and put on a card for NEXT TUESDAY!
