  • We did a judging!

    Some things to remark:

The Soulless Ones have gone on a buring spree! The Citizens of Exile and the Eldrakken Empire are now on fire! Efforts to stop them have been put in place, but they are still pushing through.

And a fierce retaliation from the Zealots of Ekisha!
This is a very interesting confrontation to watch because the both of you are very good cardsmiths in exactly the same colours, but with totally different approaches to both of those things. Who will win is yet to be determined.
  • But guess what time it is?
It is time for the seasonal OUTSIDE INTERVENTION CHALLENGE!

This time it is our good friends the Nephilim! Glint, Dune, Ink, Witch and Yore are here, and they are ready to rumble!

These deities from Gatecrash have found themselves on Mystik, and they are hungry. For next MONDAY, the six of you must make them a MONOCOLOUR card in tribute, and the five of them will pick one card each to their liking. But five is not equal to six! So, alas, whoever's gift won't be taken up by ANY NEPHILIM will be ELIMINATED!

The cards will have a bonus chance to succeed if they somehow relate to the Nephilim's mechanics.

    Good luck, and happy smithing!

Gotdammn, I do love me some Nephilims... Interesting challenge to say the least

Quick question though, are we each making a mono-colored for each Nephilim, i.e. I make 1 card of each color? Or, am I making a single card that is for all of them to choose?
  • @spookoops

You make only one official monocolour entry, and you hope that at least one of them likes it.

And I certainly hope this will be interesting, because if COLONISERS becomes boring no one bothers to join anymore and the demons will eat the Hero of the Capes' soul.
  • @HeroKP, another question, can I do colorless?
  • *Lore*
    Qul Spirit of the Flood
The Lost are putting out the fires by bringing someone from exile. Qul is an ancient spirit who was known for destroying entire worlds by submerging them in water. The water she uses is special in that nothing can change its state without her intervention. It cannot be frozen or evaporated, she is the only one capable of removing it, and it does not conduct electricity unless she says so. The water is under her complete control and now it hunts down all the fires in my territory and those in the Eldrakken Empire.
  • @Daedalus_The_All_Father I don't normally ask this, but how is Qul pronounced? Kul or Kwl?
  • @KorandAngels Honestly? I had no idea as I typed it out. I settled on Kul, kinda like coal.
  • That works.

  • Unaware of what lay beneath the sands, until the Nephilim emerged. Not even the divination skills of Starr Ekisha had foreseen the ancient gods return.

We have lived by the assumption that what was good for us would be good for the world. And this has been based on the even flimsier assumption that we could know with any certainty what was good even for us. We have fulfilled the danger of this by making our personal pride and greed the standard of our behavior toward the world - to the incalculable disadvantage of the world and every living thing in it. And now, perhaps very close to too late, our great error has become clear. It is not only our own creativity - our own capacity for life - that is stifled by our arrogant assumption; the creation itself is stifled.
We have been wrong. We must change our lives, so that it will be possible to live by the contrary assumption that what is good for the world will be good for us. And that requires that we make the effort to know the world and to learn what is good for it. We must learn to cooperate in its processes, and to yield to its limits. But even more important, we must learn to acknowledge that the creation is full of mystery; we will never entirely understand it. We must abandon arrogance and stand in awe. We must recover the sense of the majesty of creation, and the ability to be worshipful in its presence. For I do not doubt that it is only on the condition of humility and reverence before the world that our species will be able to remain in it.
  • Congratulations, remaining contestants!
Together, you have made 150 cards, both for lore and challenges!
  • I can’t tell whether I should be proud of myself or find a better way to spend my time...
  • @IzItTru From where I sit, you should definitely be proud of yourself. Your faction's turmoil on Mystik and its mysticism on Turmoil were and are both a thrill to read. If you are to keep participating, it would be an honor.
  • @HeroKP thanks! I really enjoy colonizers so I’m glad you enjoy my entries.
  • Can the next season be easier?
  • Entice Oblivion

WIth the rise of the Nephilim, and some other things that are going on, we need to remove some obstacles. Unfortunately, few obstacles can truly be removed permanently so the next best bet is to remove them for as long as is necessary to accomplish what we need and, if time allows it, what we want.
  • @KorandAngels We cannot control that, I am afraid! It is all determined by the relative level of the competitors.

Ezorael flies to the border to find the remains of a battle. Crumpled suits of armour, corpses, ashes, displaced soil, and deep trenches litter the ground. Pulling a survivor beside, he asks, "I was told that the Soulless ones attacked, and what I find looks like a god smote the land. What happened?"
"You know, that's actually a good way to put it. So, it started as you would expect. The Soulless charge in and start torching everything. The dragons fought back. Us elves had to fall back due to the flames. Everything was going fine. The suits of armour didn't hold up that well against our crushing attacks."

    (War)

"Then how did all this happen?"
"Something burst out of the ground and devoured many of the combatants."
    "And you think it's..."
    The survivor nods.
    "Carry on." Ezorael flies away.

    ...

"Yes, they are here," Chalia confirms.
"How?" Ezorael asks. "I thought the Nephilim were merely a fable."
Fables may have a seed of truth in them, Nekrekkar chimes in.
"Well then. We can't have them slaughtering our soldiers."
Chalia closes her eyes for a few seconds before continuing.
    "It requires a tribute."
    "Don't say I have to..."
Chalia, with a grim look, nods her head.
"Fine. I'll organize a tribute in the morning."

    (Entry)

[ @IzItTru I originally intended to take you up on your offer for the party, but I had inspiration for cards from that which I couldn't finish before war :|]

    Abandoned research station A-25e

Among the whirring of electronics and the sparking of aether Meadra stood. In one hand she held a radial saw in the other was gripping a mettle bar. She was hanging over the stations power core, the core had been long diffused but she needed a piece of it to finish her escape. After another minute of sawing a piece fell out of the core. it was the battery, powerful enough to run a small pod. She grabbed at it but it slipped through her fingers and fell towards the giant metal tunnel below her. She reached for it but her hand couldn't get it in time, luckily her new metal foot caught it, the first thing she had done when she reached the station was make a prosthetic leg for the one she had lost in the explosion. She grabbed the battery and climbed out of the power core. She found her way back to one of the station's garages in the center of the garage was an old ship, thrown together from the remnants of the station, it was her ticket back into Sandir. Meadra pulled the front hood up and plugged the battery into it's spot.

Syr Edgar's Personal Ship Flying Over the Ekisha War Front
    ______________________________________________________________________________________

Edgar overlooked one of the war camps from the viewing deck of his ship. He was annoyed, the Zealots were very hard to fight, their annoying magic made it difficult to pin them down and kill them but he would find a way to make them extinct. he already had found one very useful trick. The Zealot's magic may bend the mind but he already had experience with similar technologies. All he needed was to find a way to protect his soldiers from the enemies magic. He had been working tirelessly on this new invention. With the remnants of his old generator that had used the power from the jellyfish spirits he made a new kind of generator: It was simple each soldier had a bionic chip installed in them connecting to their brain, these chips were engineered to be magic resistant and each one connected to a "mother generator" that shielded the soldier's minds from magical attacks. Already most of the soldiers had been geared up with these and the generator had been turned online.

    Sandir the Sovereign City
    ______________________________________________________________________________________

Inquisitor Rima stood on a balcony overlooking a mountain range, a giant hole had been carved through the range,

"The creatures are massive" Behind her another Inquisitor stood he adjusted his mask and continued speaking "They show signs of all kinds of mana, they could destroy an entire city" Rima looked again at the crater.

"Do we still have the featherlings in captivity?" The man looked surprised,

"Yes, but how will those help?"

"Simple, if the beasts want an offering we give them followers."

(@Stryk3r no worries! We can just say that it happened)
  • Oh sorry I didn’t specify but Faetherling Sovereign is my entry for the challenge
  • @Stryk3r I presume you are sending tribute to Witch-Maw...

The Angels feared the sight of the Nephilim. See, the Realm of the King was made when planes aligned and those of justice were torn together by the winds of fate. One of those planes was Ravnica. Many Angels from the times of the Nephilim were torn to the apex. One of those Angels, Saphix, witnessed the events from prison, for crimes of opposing a corrupt government. She was released from her cell in the chaos, and now, in the time of the Realm, it was decided she should be the one to meet with the Nephilim. She decided she could thank them, for her freedom. She awaited their judgement.

  • There's no problem, I just think it's strange because your faction includes red.
